    Mr.Kapil , Your income will NOT be considered when deciding whether you are a creamy or Non-creamy candidate.Your Father’s income is the criteria.

  Hi sir, i m living in gujarat now because of my father’s govt job. My caste ‘kurmi’ belongs to central list of obc in UP that’s also my native, but ‘kurmi’ is not listed in list of gujarat. I m also from non creamy layer. I had given all examinations in general categery in gujarat. So can i get the benefit of obc in upsc?

    Yes. You’ve to approach Zila Seva Sadan in your district in Gujarat.
    They’ll provide you the OBC certificate, however this certificate will work only for Central Government jobs / admission and not for Gujarat Government jobs/admission.

  sir, i belong to obc category in up list as wel as centre list.However i have given civil services exam in general category 4 times. Can i avail obc category and become eligible for 5th attempt.

  if my father(as already a creamy layer obc) will retired after 2 yr then my status of creamy layer obc becomes non creamy layer obc or not?

    If you father is in Government service but didnot become class1 officer before the age of 40, then you’re non creamy layer: the salary / retirement doesn’t come into picture in that case.

    yes you can.
    by the way, you can apply as OBC in this attempt also because you have to attach NCL certificate with mains application form and not with the prelims application form.

  if a candidate selected under obc for a central govt post is found to be in creamy layer….do they realy undertake disiplinary action and if yes what action is taken? does he gets barred to apply for any other job? are criminal procedings also filed?? plz reply

  sir, I am living in Gujarat,in OBC cast certificate Mention YADAV Cast,so Yadav of gujarat have got obc category benefit in central(government of india) jobs.Please reply argent because I am pass in IBPS in OBC category.also resently give one of interview but in this interview-Authority refuse me for count in obc,they says yadav of gujarat is not got obc benefit for central(government of india) jobs and they were take my interview as general category,i am very tense right now pls reply after finding truth. because I check online central list of obc but yadav in not in this list, but I have some book of government of Gujarat in this book yadav in central list of obc.

  Hi Mrunal,

  Will the assets held by my parents be considered for determining creamy layer status. For e.g. my father and mother own some agricultural land as part of ancestral property. There is no regular income arising out of this land, apart from any that could come from future sale. My father is retired from private service since 5 years and hence there is no income for him apart from interest and pension. Mother has been a home maker.

  I filled application for UPSC 2013 in OBC category but after reading notification carefully i come under the general category.. Now,will my application will be rejected.. or will be considered as general category candidate???

  I have to produce obc ncl certificate to bank at the time of joining, i hav to renew it as previous one is expiring this month. My father is not a class I officer but has income>6lac. Do i still fall in obc ncl? or i’ll have to leave this offer.

    yes you still fall under OBC NCL.
    for Government employee parents, salary doesn’t matter in NCL.

I WANT TO KNOW HOW TO CHECK THE AUTHENTICITY OF OBc CERTIFICATE ,HOW IS IT POSSIBLE AND DO I BELONG TO NON CREAMY LAYER YET.PLZZZZZZZZZZZ SIR SHOW MW THE R8 WAY BEACUSE I HAVE TO JOIN BANK OF BARODA IN JUNE JULY AND RELATIVES SUGGEST ME TO LEAVE THE JOB BEACAUSE ACCORDING TO THEM I DONT BELONG TO NON CREAMY LAYER. and may be after selection i would be dismissed from job and restricted for durther competition ,…….plzzzzzzzzzzz sir reply soon.

    what you need is two certificates
    1. OBC certificate that you already have
    2. Non-creamy layer certificate- that you’ve to get from Tehsildar’s office.

    for non-creamy layer: salary doesn’t matter when parents have Government jobs.
    since he didnot become class 1 before age of 40= you’re non creamy layer and eligible for reservation in Bank of Baroda.

      1. I belong to karnataka state.my caste ‘MARATHA’ is included in the state OBC list but not in the central OBC list. but my parents annual income is less than 1 lakh. can i claim OBC category under economically backward class(EBC)? pls clear the confusion sir.

  I was in a semi government organisation. I have taken VRS and from 2007 I am practicing as an advocate. I belong to OBC community. I have a married son living with me and he is employed in a private organization earning around Rs. 5 lakha annually. My annual income is not taxable and hence I have not filed Income tax returns from 2010 onwards. My daughter is in 12th std,and I have to obtain Non creamy layer certificate.for which i require my own income certificate. How shall I obtain the same?.

  My friend belonging to OBC but he is in State level obc not in Central level obc list what would happen in this case. yaar actually may form manay fill kiye thaay but yaar site per mention nahi tha ki state level ya central level. maanay uska Sub Inspector ka form fill kiya tha ab ki baar walaa (2013) usamaay mention tha Govt of NCT manay fill kar diya woh bhi SSC kaa tha woh to valid hai but SBI ,LIC walaay kaa kaya hogaa nay idea.
  yaar ye galati kiski hai meri yaa SSC , SBI ya LIC walo ki kyuki unhonaay mention hi nahi kiyaa hai like ab ki baar SSC Sub inspector may mention kiya hua tha toh manaay uska fill kar diya as GOVT. of NCT of delhi . plz help help help

  Hi. First of all thank you for clearing the doubts of many people… My concern is also similar. We belong to OBC. My father is in manager post in coal mines. his income is more than 6 lakhs. Can I belong to creamy layer??? If yes, Can I get realxation on age atleast for the bank exams under OBC relaxation.

  I’m a keralite by birth but was brought up in Karnataka. I belong to obc(non creamy layer) Muslim(mapilla) community that is present in the central list of Kerala state but not in Karnataka.I have cleared ibps clerk exam and interview and I’m also Allotted to a public sector bank in Karnataka. I have to submit my obc certificate issued by central govt at the time of joining. Can I submit the certificate issued by Kerala central govt in Karnataka? Is it Valued? If not what else can I do please reply

  My Small Brother Has OBC & Creamy layer certificate of year 2012-13
  He Pass Exam of PO of UCO Bank
  But one problem occurred bank wants teses certificate of year 2011-12

  Kaya ye ho sakta hai ki Creamy layer certificate 2011-12 Ka new ban sakta hai..

  agar ban sakta hai to kirpya process bataye…

  my father is a farmer and i am assistant executive engineer in a public sector navratna company with gross salary more than 7 lacs.
  now i want to say that i belong to jat community which is in OBC in center and state.
  so if i apply for upsc under which catagory i will be considered?
