  13. General Instructions:
  14. Note for Person with Disability (PWD):

Save your roll number

AND after the exam is finished, please don’t misplace your hallticket/callletter. Note down your roll number in 3-4 places eg.

  1. your drawing room’s wall calendar
  2. as a contact no. in your mobile phone,
  3. In your certificate file (where you keep your graduation certi. etc.)
  4. in your google docs/ as your gmail contact

Otherwise when result comes, panic comes “I forgot my roll number, how I can check my result?”

Items to bring @Exam hall

  1. Admission Letter (you Must paste a passport sized photo on it)
  2. Photo ID card.
  3. One Ball point pen (although my advice, also bring pencil with rubber, that way, even if you have to make correction in some calculation you can do easily- comes handy in sitting-arrangement- blood relation type questions otherwise diagram becomes too messy, then you’ve to rewrite everything=time waste.).

Computer Tests: A few tips

COPY pasting the same tips from RBI assistant article

  • In the pen-paper based test, if you don’t know answer to a particular question, you could mark it in the question paper, or write its question number at the end of question paper (in the rough space). And at the end of the exam, you’ll review that question and try to solve it again.
  • In the computer based test, they also provide same facility. Under every question there is button for “mark/review”. You must make efficient use of mark/ review button. There are two ways to do it (whichever works fine for you).
Approach1 Approach2
  • In the beginning, don’t solve any question. Just read all questions (1,2,3…)and click on “mark” button on the questions that you can solve confidently.
  • Then goback to home page /index on your computer screen and click on “review all marked questions”.
  • Then you start solve those marked questions one by one.
  • Start solving questions one by one in the series (1,2,3..) if any questions is totally un-solvable then ignore it and proceed to next question.
  • but if any question is “sitter” type (that means, it can be solved but it’ll require lot of time or trial n error). E.g. some tough question on code-decoding, or number based analogy.
  • In that case mark all the “sitter” questions. and once you’ve finished the paper, goback to homepage/index and click on review all marked.

GA: Don’t Mark n Review

Don’t put GA (General awareness) question on “mark n review”. Reason: if you don’t know the answer for a general awareness question on the first time reading, there is very low chance that you can solve it by “mark and review” (unlike mathematics or reasoning question). Here in GA question, you’ll just waste time in mark-n-review, and in the worst case, your mind will seduce you into ticking some wrong answer based on guess-work, just to overcome to the imaginary cutoffs= score goes down thanks to negative marking.

Comprehension: Mark n Review

  • Suppose, after reading the English paragraph, you’ve to answer five question but You can answer only 3 question. Remaining two question are difficult. Now you decide to put other two question on “mark and review”.
  • Problem= when you come back to review the same question at the end of exam, the passage would have evaporated from your head, and you’ll need to re-read the whole passage again just for those two question =lot of time wasted. Therefore, solve all Comprehension questions at once after reading the passage, if you can’t solve any, then just leave it, don’t come back later for mark n review.
  • ^Same advice for “sets” based on sitting arrangement, blood relation etc. Because if you mark any 1-2 question for review, you’ll have to re-read the whole description to make a new chart on sitting arrangement.
  • Same advice for “sets” based on Data interpretation tables/graphs. (unless you’ve framed the equation correctly and just stuck because of lengthy calculation or division and hence decided to put it on mark n review.).

Online Exam structure

  1. Time limit: 130 minutes
  2. There is sectional cutoffs=Yes.

section No. Of Qs marks
General Awareness 80 80
English Language 30 30
Quantitative Aptitude 30 30
Reasoning ( verbal ) 60 60
total 200 200

  • The tests will be provided in English and Hindi.
  • You can attempt any question from 1 to 200 at any point of time within these 130 minutes. (unlike CAT, in which you’ve to face two sections Quant + DI and Reasoning + English.)

DI (Data interpretation)

Given below is a table showing percentages out of a total of 700 employees ranking six attributes that help promotion. Rank I is the highest. Study the table carefully and answer questions that follow :

RBI sample DI question

Q. Which attribute for promotion has received the highest rank ?

  1. Perseverance
  2. Seniority
  3. Honesty
  4. Sociability
  5. Efficiency

Notice the percentage for rank I given in the table. You observe that seniority is the attribute with the highest percentage. So your answer is ‘Seniority’, which is answer No. (2).

Q. How many employees gave rank III to intelligence ?

  1. 119
  2. 98
  3. 77
  4. 70
  5. 10

Look at the intersection of the column giving percentage for rank III and the row giving percentage for

intelligence. You find that 10 percent of the 700 employees have given rank III to this attribute. 10% of 700 is 70. So your answer should be (4).

Q. Which attribute is considered the least important for promotion?

  1. Honesty
  2. Intelligence
  3. Perseverance
  4. Efficiency
  5. Sociability

Directions : In each of the following questions, there is a question mark in which only one of the five alternatives given under the question satisfies the same relationship as is found between the two terms to the left of the sign :: given in the question. Find the correct answer.

  1. Foot : man : : hoof :?
    1. leg
    2. dog
