Actually I am hard pressed financially so if you can tell your opinion about him, I will plan accordingly.
Thanks
sir pls give a suggestion to me,i was interested optional geography, but i want to write exams in Telugu medium, which medium is better, and and also about anthropology
I studied anthropology without coaching and I did find it a great subject. I bought the material of Sapiens IAS which did a decent coverage of Paper 1 and a not so decent coverage for Paper 2. Those who have an inclination for biology, biotechnology and are reasonably good with few diagrams can definitely take anthro. Further, socio-cultural anthropology has been decently covered in Sapiens material.
It has a relatively short syllabus and I was able to cover 80-85% of the syllabus in 45 days with remaining 30 days for revision. So those with shortage of time, not wanting to risk with conventional subjects like public administration, sociology, geography can definitely choose this.
Further, there is not much of research happening in the field and hence, the questions are reasonably static and predictable.
Every aspect of the syllabus can be covered through a detailed study within 3 months.
Hi priyanka
I ‘ve shifted to anthropology from geo and can’t go for coaching again so I need someone’s guidance regarding optional. Can I expect help from you, if you don’t mind.
Sure Vishwa.. I can share the way in which i prepared for the exam… but plz do remember, I am no expert :)
Hey how much marks u scored??? I m appearing with history 3rd time n for my low scores in it, i should have been selected by now.. thinking abt shifting to anthropology? ?
where can you get sapiens material
Just because your range of experience with google searches is that of a teaspoon, that does not mean the subject is static with no research.
Also, try reading some journals such as Nature and you will get to know all about the static research in the field. Moreover, comment only in terms of ias syllabus and do not insult yourself by commenting on the subject you dont even understand.
thank you
To the Delhi aspirants, Lakshmiah sir will be starting a batch probably in July this year at Mithra IAS. Since he’s based in Hyderabad, he needs to gauge if Delhi actually has a robust base for Anthro. If you’re planning to study Anthro as an optional, please do contact him soon. He is a published author with Telugu Akademi by AP Govt and apparently teaches very effectively keeping the exam framework in mind. He’s the best bet for us. Research about him and reach out so that the Delhi batch is continued.
