Confusion in Job prefrence codes

Q. Which job should I give first preferfence to? so What preference should I give to xyz post?
Ans. Job profiles for individual posts, given in a separate article CLICK ME,
Rule of thumbs are:

- Want peace of mind, family life, permanently settle in Delhi= Assistants in Group B in certain ministries.
- Want posting in foreign country= Assistant in Ministry of External affairs.
- Non interview posts should be given last preference because they get less salary, power, promotion than interview posts.

Timetable

Q. What is the time table for Tier I and Tier II exams?

Tie in score

Q. What if two candidates get same final score?

Ans. Final merit list is prepared by combining the marks of Tier-I + Tier-2 + Tier 3. If there is tie, then it will be solved in following sequence:

  • Total marks of Tier-II Examination.
  • Total marks in Tier-I Examination
  • Date of Birth, with older candidate placed higher.
  • Alphabetical order in which the first names of the candidates appear.

OBC creamy Layer: Avoid Mistakes

To claim OBC reservation benefit, you need two certificates.

Name of certificate Important thing to keep in mind:
  1. OBC Caste certificate.
State’s own list and Central government’s list are different.Your caste MUST be in central list. Check here http://www.ncbc.nic.in/centrallistifobc.htmlFor example,

  • Certain Chaudhari caste in Gujarat are in state backward list but not in the central backward list.
  • Meaning, such person can claim reservation when applying for Gujarat University /GPSC but he cannot claim reservation when applying for IIM/UPSC/SSC/Banks.

The Commission has decided to accept OBC certificate, in the prescribed format, issued after the closing date for receipt of application but issued on or before the date of completion of last tier of the examination i.e. Interview/Skill Test/Computer Proficiency Test/ Document Verification, as applicable , in the concerned SSC Regional Office, as valid proof of belonging to non-creamy layer of OBC. NOTE:- Candidates are warned that they will be permanently debarred from the examinations conducted by the Commission in case they fraudulently claim SC/ST/OBC/ExS/PH status.

  1. Non-Creamy layer certificate.
  • Candidates claiming OBC status may note that certificate on creamy layer status should have been obtained within three years before the closing date for receipt of application.
  • This depends on the income/status of your PARENTS (this is clearly mentioned in page 10 of official notification)
  • This doesn’t depend on your own job/business OR your husband’s job/business.
  • If your mom/dad is government employee then INCOME criteria doesn’t apply. (e.g. if dad is class3 employee, then it doesn’t matter whether he gets 6 lakhs or 7 lakhs. You’re still non-cream layer. For more, read this PDF file click me)
  • If your parents have private business, then income criteria applies.  (Max. 6 Lakh rupees annual income)
  • In short, make sure you’ve these certificates, else make trip to Tehsildar’s office/Collector Office/Jan-Seva Kendra and get the proper certificates.
  • Otherwise, SSC will reject you at the last stage, during document verification and your entire year will be wasted for nothing.

RTI

Q. I want to file RTI to SSC for xyz matter

Ans. How to file RTI, is explained in following article click me

No. of vacancies?

Q. How many vacancies are there, for those individual posts?

Ans. Firm number of vacancies in each category of posts will be determined at least one month before the declaration of the final results.

Last Semester

Q. I’m in the last semester/ last year of college? Can I apply?
Ans. No. You must have completed graduation on OR before 1st January 2014. Otherwise, they’ll reject you at document verification stage.
Let’s assume you prepare extremely well and clear tier 1 and tier 2, still they’ll reject you at document verification stage. So, instead of occupying a seat at tier-II, tier III, better let a needy person get those seats.
Besides, SSC will release official answerkeys and cut-offs. So, you can practice the same question paper at home. (instead of appearing in the exam just for the sake of “experience”).

additional FAQ

Courtesy Mr. Chandra Deo

Q-   I have not filled the non interview post as my preference , can i get that post because now i am planning to change my preference order?

No , SSC strictly followed the preference order , if you have  not filled the post then you will not get it .

Q I have a backlogs in my graduation , that i have still not cleared , can i fill this form?

No, if you have back it means you have not yet completed your graduation .

Q i have 45% marks in graduation , can i fill this form ?

Central govt recruitment is based on merit system , for this they conduct written exam . Less marks in graduation / 10th / 12th  does not create any problem . There is no such specific criteria, you can go ahead.

Q I use -5D spectacles , will it create any problem in income tax inspector or any other post ?

No , no problem at all. Your vision should be 6/6 using glasses.

Q  i have not filled CSS cadre in my preference in 2012 exam , will it be count as a used attempt for CSS cadre.

If you have not filled CSS cadres in your preference / you dropped the idea to give T1 exam then this attempt will not be counted as a used attempt.

Q – i have filled statistical investigator post in my preference but i don’t have statistics as a subject in my graduation ?

Give T1 exam and don’t appear in statistics paper of T2. not a problem at all.

      Hey Hi,

If they cancel the exam, then the attempt is not counted. So dont worry about the attempt. And my suggestion would be that you fill the CSS coz for girls it is one of the best jobs.

  21. kundan says:

i am not able to fill the form. it said use IE or opera. i tried both browser IE 11th version and opera but still same problem. even after updating java also.

  22. Kiranmoy Biswas says:

    Kundan
You must be using windows 8.1 like me….
As announced by Microsoft all browsers including ie 11 onwards will be known as Netscape for compatibility issues across browsers.
Though it it possible to spoof browser user agent….the ssc site uses AppName instead of UserAgent to identify browsers via javascript….as I have found out when goin thought the HTML and is source code.
I know some programming so I assure you spoofing won’t help either.
I used Hyper-v to virtualise xp so with old ie and registered my self…..but if you are not familiar…I recommend windows 7 or earlier preferably xp for registering and use ie only and not even opera which also identifies as Netscape.
Part 2 of the registration can be done on windows 8.1 but not part 1.
For part 1 use ie (old version) on windows Xp to fill part 1 of cgl registration…..cyber cafe maybe or friends vintage PC will work fine.
Ssc guys it seems don’t like to be updated.

  42. tushar says:

    hello sir,
This is Tushar, i jst want to know that i belong to a category VJNT but i have filled in OBC caste so is it right for ssc cgl 2014 form?

  43. Shajahan S says:

    Sir,

For SSC CGL application, to get Age Relaxation under OBC, the requirements are

    1. Certificate on creamy layer status should have been obtained within three years before the closing date for receipt of application.

    2. OBC certificate, in the prescribed format, issued after the closing date for receipt of application but issued on or before the date of completion of last tier of the examination

    My Question:

One is BEFORE the closing date & other is AFTER the closing date. Does that simply means to get it certified on two days ? (Considering the fact that the person in authority will issue it only on the correct date!)

Now I am working far away from my hometown and it would be difficult to get it done in two days.

    Please clarify.

    Thanks.

hello mrunal sir and fellow aspirants
i made a mistake while applying for ssc cgle.
after depositing the fee, while completing part 2 registration,
i filled my registration number in place of bank transaction id, then uploaded the photograph and signature.
process completed and got a mail from ssc.
will ssc provide me a chance to fill up fee transaction details again?
please guide me if anyone knows..

    • चन्द्रदेव says:

You can fill another form . most probably your form will be rejected after verification.

previously their was online grievance portal , now it is not.
so fill up fresh one with new transaction id

    hi all,

    Latest news regarding CGL 13

Last Updated on 24th January, 2014

CGLE 2013 – The Delhi Police / CBI and other investigative agencies were investigating a number of complaints regarding conduct of CGLE 2013 exam. A letter from Delhi Police in this regard has recently been received . Further conduct of the CGL Examination, 2013 is under consideration of the government

    • Gill says:

Read this just now on the SSC website.

This is crap! This most likely means that the exam will be scrapped for year 2013. Official language might mean less shocking but this is exactly what it looks like after reading. “Under consideration of the government” means they are not likely to organize the interviews.

Entire hardwork goes down the drain. Thanks to everyone who cheated and spoiled other hard working student’s dreams.
Love India but hate such Indians who cheat in exams and play with other people’s careers.

I think everyone will agree, that this means scrapping the exam.

      RIP CGL – 2013

    • Neetu says:

Only innocents are going to suffer. Corrupt officials have got their pockets full of bribe. They must have minted enough money to bribe further in future so that they can get jobs for their children.(i can bet their children may even not be knowing how to crack a cracker, exam is a far difficult affair.) Also, few slugs who don’t have the guts to have a fair play to grab the job, who can do nothing but can cry in front of their parents that “daddy please paise dekr job lag wa do, aapko tou pta hi h bhagwan dimaag dena bhool gya mujhe…, they are the real culprits.
How can they waste a whole year of hard working aspirants. Don’t they understand how much hard work it takes to crack an exam, to secure 455 marks.
      Completely pissed off.
