even after reading hindu newspaper religiously for 2 hours i find many times that few news are missing from the hindu newspaper delhi edition for e.g.. Kiren Rijiju hawkish or dovish thing given above in the article.

you are right.
in fact I have observed that different editions offer diff news and I think UPSC knows that very well. It will make a paper which promotes equality among all aspirants in the country. since we dont have much time to scroll every edition/ read both online and print paper, I think we should read what we have and be calm.

Gandhi’s book Hind Swaraj ( only 90 pages) provides some great matter. In Ethics section , Question 2, 3 can be answered as Gandhi explained in detail on civilisation, education and ethics.
SOME POINTS WHICH CAN BE ELABORATED
He detailed on how western civilisation has turned us into consumer, made us individualistic — things having been almost absent in India, we had community life — but now our country is simply a national market for foreign goods : still we are dependent on western country. Even for education. Ethical degradation is now our way way of life – in politics, social, etc., though we were believing in theory of Dharma, karma an Vedanta.
Fear – economic, social and political, is now a part our life. Gandhi talked about freedom from fear and became our hero. but after independence, how many heroes of such type we have been. Mandela, Ang suu, Martin luther, and even Obama followed him and excelled. but we have rejected ethics in our politics, society and our young India calls it pragmatism.
Every student must have heard of Wealth of nation, some even advocate capitalism to its core. but I can categorically say that very few know that even Adam Smith gave importance to his other book THE THEORY OF MORAL SENTIMENTS. It is like we accepted a Car without handle. and it is now taking lives.
Buddhism is no more in India because we rejected these ideas and accepted lavish life with no concern of poverty and other social ills etc. pushing our country into Dark Ages. Have a look at Japan and China, countries only accepted western technology and became a superpower, but retained their culture. We can talk about how government there cares for old age people, and funds education an d other social sector, things though present in Ashoka’s Dhamma and in our DPSP, but not in our heart.
We may also add conversion issue in here . It is like sitting in a room with your windows open, thus not getting blown. Accepting good things from others religion without getting radicalised.
Our education has no relevance with our social life. some report by Germans who even ask for vocational courses, and others like ranking of indian universities, research etc.
Poor education is the reason we have no GOOGLE, INTEL AND FACEBOOK – once said by Modi – and thus we still produce clerks as we were doing during Macalau’s time. The difference is that we have now changed our employers from Britishers to Americans. Governments use to talk a lot of economic freedom, why not intellectual freedom. We were forced for reforms in 1991 but what will force for educational reforms – some say neo-colonisation, inequality in society, religious fundamentalism, Naxalism, which I do not want to but circumstances around make me agree.
neither government nor private sector can provide employment to young India. entrepreneurship has to be part of our education system, making it a tool to eradicate our problems.
Determination, Empathy, tenacity, audacity and perseverance are qualities required to be a leader and our education must teach these.

Louis L’Amour has rightly said that to make democracy work, we must be a notion of participants, not simply observers. One who does not vote has no right to complain. Democracy can be seen as an extension of people’s participation. It is a form of government in which the supreme power is vested in the people and exercised by them directly or indirectly through a representative system of elections. Democracy will collapse without proper and fair participation of its citizens. Every vote reassures our democracy and makes it stronger.

It doesn’t matter which belief system you follow, all lead us towards the same conclusion that we all are one.
All religions say that God is present everywhere, in each of us. So when i say, god is present in me, and god is present in you, does it not mean that every being is equivalent.
Two organisms on the exterior might appear as two different lives, but the same energy is flowing through each of them. We all emerged from the same source. And so our soul is as equivalent to someone else just in front of us, as compared to someone sitting thousand miles away.
Now once we understand that every being is equivalent to one’s soul, it makes us realize that the task we are doing is not for someone else, but for our self. Since the one being in front is myself at the core, why hesitate in doing the service for him. For what we are doing, is not for someone else but for the one present in all of us!

Education can be said as a structured study given to a particular person to impart him the knowledge that humans have recorded as a social species. It is meant to enable him to appreciate the achievements of humans over the course of time. Education is meant to make a person see for himself how the world works around him, and how he is also a part of it. It is meant for a person to understand that humans work together and it’ll enable him to find a place for himself in this world.
In all, education can be said to make a person wise and more human.
But education must not stop, just there. Once you are educated you realize that each person need to do something in order to sustain himself. He need to participate in the economy to earn his living. To be able to do something of value, he must learn a particular trade. And that learning should come from education.
Education just not only have a value for an individual but also has a meaning for the society. As an activity it should enable the individuals of the society to assimilate the collective wisdom of the society and to take it forward from there.
Education as an activity may mean different things to different pockets of society. For the rich, it means as a vehicle to increase their knowledge. For the poor it is a mode to make him competent enough to be able to earn something. So education can have different meanings.
So we cannot say that education just serve one purpose, but many. So education is not just meant to strengthen one’s wisdom but to make a person good human being with mature thoughts and skills to be able to make the society more robust.

Read a discussion on which newspaper to follow. As some said, The Hindu, is too biased a newspaper and many a times anti-national too, for us to digest. The best newspaper of the lot among what I have read is without doubt, “The NEW Indian Express” (Remember not “The Indian Express”).
It usually gives a balanced news, and not at all against national interests, and do cover important topics. I wouldn’t say to discard reading The Hindu, if you are preparing for Civils, but having this paper too, would definitely help.
