  • Apply online: 7th Feb to 3rd March 2018

    • You’ve to indicate optional subject in online Prelim-form. You can’t change it afterwards during Mains form.
    • Marksheet, Caste Certi not required at this stage.

  • Stage1- Prelims / CSAT: 3rd June, 2018

    • Multiple choice Question (MCQ) Test. Two papers 1) General Studies 2) Aptitude. No optional paper here.
    • Question paper is set in English and Hindi.
    • if you apply online but remain absent in prelims, then your attempt is not counted.

  • Stage2- Mains: 29th Sep. 2018 onwards (five days)

    • When you clear prelims, You’ll have to fill up a new separate (online) form called “Detailed Application form” ( source link DAF).
    • In this online DAF-form, Your optional subject will be pre-selected from prelim form, hence you can’t change.
    • Along with DAF-you’ll have to give proof of graduation, caste, PH.
    • Mains contains Seven Descriptive Papers; including one optional subject paper.

  • Stage3- Interview, Dates undecided

    Can be given in any language. But advisable to give in Hindi/English otherwise 1) Leaves Poor impression 2) Translator eats up time/ reduces impact of your answer.

    1. Yeah i am also trying to prepare for the same without coaching. If you have the best studying habit for hours together, no one can stop you. Pls reply if you get any information about this.

    2. if u r not studied u r ug in any prestigious institution like iit aiims etc.. than it’s very difficult to get through without coaching. (why i mention iit likes as exception is not knowledge they are generally commitment oriented and further they was pruned in such institution ) Don’t waste u r time, join any 1 decent institute further u have to outsource which is best available in the market. cost of 1 year of life is much more greater than coaching fees and actually its worth. it’s my free advice from my personal experience, from mrunals language i was an innocent bystander from a remote village. if u r from north india join vision ias if u r in south you have to.. it’s also my personal suggestion based on their open tests and open lecturers . i never joined in these institutes or any other else. it’s suggestion and opinion is personal….

  19. I found most of mrunal teaching videos in Hindi . (1)Are there videos of same topics available with English as medium of instruction too ?? Because wen instructed in English, it is more convenient for learners to remember the topics and easily use the same kind of vocabulary in Mains.
    (2)Are there any topper’s answer sheets available topic or subject wise or otherwise at the website?
    (3)Previous Mock test papers compilation topic wise ,Rather NCERT book wise in order to solve after finishing each ncert.
    (4) I request for suggestions on taking philosophy as optional. (material,success ratings,marking n questioning trends,breakdown of syllabus,previous years answer sheets by toppers n reliable coaching
    institute if any with experience n focussed mentorship in the above said subject.)

    1. Major advantage of taking Philosophy is that you can afford to give proportionate time to other papers. But, there are also mammoth disadvantages associated with this subject. Anyway, it vary from person to person, best thing is to study few sources and see for yourself if you can handle it.

    1. Yes, you are eligible,upper age limit for general category itself 32years.

    2. upsc cse age for general category-32 years(cutoff date from 1 august of the exam year
      for obc category-35 years.
      so,i think u r eligible for next 4 years.
