Question from a reader
It is mentioned in the advertisement for Civil Services that a candidate has to be fit as mentioned in “Appendix-III of Rules for Civil Services Preliminary Examination published in the Gazette of India Extraordinary” .I have tried a lot but I have not been able to find this Appendix III .If you could kindly give a try to locate this information and put it in your site, I think it will help all the candidates.

i read the gazette and as far as i can understand, there is a limit on eye vision of +4 and -4 for “technical services” for IPS and RPF. so could u please clarify how people with a greater power are eligible?

Hello Mr. Mrunal,
I am an aspirent of Indian forest Service, so kindly let me know the Medical Examination regarding the same, will it be too much stringet similar to IPS.
Bcz..I have a problem with my left eye vission, and I had a clipd my teeth during with 4 premolars was taken off..
I am quite confident of Clearing IFoS exam for 2013..but much concerned about Medicals…

i have got selected as accountant in cbdt by clearing ssc cgl 11.
medical is nt dn yet. m worried whthr i wil clear medical. plz sir help me out coz m realy tensed wt wil happen if i wil nt b eligible 4 ne govt. post.
also i m targetin ias. plz guide me shud i go 4 it or nt 4m medical point of view.

sir i gone through the medical standard for IPS. Eye power permitted -4 to +4 & the corrections permitted spectacles only.so if the person has power -2 and the power corrected by zyoptix surgery(advanced level of lasik) then the person eligible for IPS ??

sir, my left eye was operated(surgery) due to corneal tear. now my left eye has power -6.00(cylindrical) and right eye has -1.50 power. for left eye i use contact lense to see clearly with 6/9 vision,so can i eligible for IAS OR IRS ?…..plz reply …..
