This is not an article, just a reminder/update for those who’re unaware- IBPS has removed the ceilings about Graduation percentage, upper age and computer literacy for the PO/MT exam. On 22nd July 2013, IBPS changed the original notification click me and accordingly to the latest rules:
Education (don’t need 60%)
A Degree (Graduation) in any discipline from a recognized University or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government
(Earlier IBPS asked for 60% in graduation but it is no longer necessary. You can apply even if you have less than 60%)
Computer literary (don’t need certificate)
Computer literacy is no longer mandatory for applying in IBPS PO/MT. (Meaning you can apply even if you don’t have any computer certificate)
Age (max is 30 and not 28)
Minimum – 20 years Maximum – 30 years (i.e. candidate must have been not born earlier than 02.07.1983 and not later than 01.07.1993) + (Relaxation in upper age limit as per Govt. Guidelines for Reserved Categories will apply)
Last date to apply=17th August

Sir, Plz post some topic in Gk for IBPS RRB and PO
the reason that eligibility been relaxed is only because of coming 2014 elections plus even if they have reduced the percentage requirement, almost all these banks hire at 60% only, so i dont think its going to help much.
The reason is, there are students who do their graduation from a particular stream because they are compelled to do so and hence they don’t do it seriously, ending up with not so good marks….but on their own path after graduation they can show immense potential with little hard work. I can show you many living examples who despite being bad candidates during their graduation performed much better than their so called ‘first class’ or ‘distinction’ counterparts.
As far as IBPS is concerned you shouldn’t be worried from these “less than 60 marks” students, right? because there’s going to be an aptitude and then interview in which these students, according to your notions, can’t perform well. Then why so serious??
you took it all out of context
Sir would you please clarify the point made above by Mr. Nitin, regarding the futility of people attempting the exam with less than 60%. Kindly clarify. Thanks in advance.
look dear, many of the banks listed with IBPS like the PNB, hire only 60% at grad candidates, unlike bank of Maharashtra or Dena bank who previously did not required 60% at grad for recruiting PO. Of all the banks in the list hardly 2 or 3 hire below 60% at grad, and let me tell you that they are not so famous among aspirants like the PNB is, but still govt. job is a govt. job, rest is your take. have a good one.

Hi all, PLZZ HELPPP!!!
In the application form where it was mentioned ‘Do you have Operating and working knowledge in computer systems’? I entered YES, and as it was mandatory to enter the Details of Computer Knowledge I have entered it as ‘studied in High school’, though I have studied computers only till the 8th standard.Though I am aware of workings of the computer I don’t have any certificate for the same nor it is mentioned in any education degree of mine.
What should I do? I have already submitted the application form.
Should I submit a new application form?
Dis all those of you without a computer certificate but aware of workings of computer enter NO in the application form when asked about computer knowledge???
u can write there “Basics of computers”
@Vyankatesh
If that suffice or else do we have to be more specific like Ms Word, Ms Excel. I’m BE CSE. So it’s obivious that I have computer knowledge. My doubt what are their expectations?
sir
