ya that statistical paper.. I’m not going to appear. Many are still in doubt.
i have a rank in 15000s based on tier 1 marks. Is it worthwhile to spend 6 hours in tier 2 ? considering that i am preparing for UPSC mains right now and already got central excise post in previous attempt
I’m too preparing for UPSC mains, but I’m giving 4/5 hrs a day for last few days and will give upto 28-sep. yes its worthwhile as its the best backup plan to sustain your UPSC preparation.
Yes i know it is a back up. I already got central excise inspector post in CGLE 2011 though joining is still pending. Only purpose of writing again would be to get a post better than central excise. Now i am not sure whether with a rank around 10000 i can get a better post. So i am asking other readers here whether it is worthwhile for me to write tier 2 ?
Bhai U Did not got joining of CGL 2011 ….But in my knowledge all have got Joining who were selected in CGL 2011 Excise

i think Inspector (Central Excise) is one of the best post offered in CGL,, many prefer it over Income Tax……do you know other posts better than it ???????

Stats paper 3 is mentioned in my admit card. if I dont attend paper3, but attend paper1 & 2, I should be eligible for non stats dependent jobs right?
You are eligible for other Jobs. I did the same in 2011

Tnpsc group 1 mains, Ssc tier 2,RBI assistant interview, all three are scheduled in the same day for me… Am very much confused now… Any advice from u bro??????
Yesterday (23/09/2013), Central Administrative Tribunal has issued stay to SSC tier 2. Mr.Sunil Ranjan director North East has shared it in his twitter and facebook account and mentioned that SSC will fight back to conduct the exam on the same date. However, there is no official announcement in SSC site or news in any dailies related to postponement. I personally feel it is difficult to vacate the stay within 4 days and there is a chance it may be postponed. In that condition, you may appear for either TNPSC or RBI.

I have been given Jaipur center for CGL tier 2 whereas opted Delhi centre.Is this for all delhi people ?

May be those who are having statistics paper , have been alotted the centre which they have opted like as in my case.
I guess u r nt having statistics paper n thats why u hav been alloted a centre outside Delhi.

ie its good to opt for statistical post even if you are not interested or qualified.
you are correct .I have not opted for paper 3.
those candidates who had stastistics as a subject for atleast 1 year are eligible and should appear for paper 3.
If paper3 is mentioned on your roll number(because you had excercised statistical inv. Post while filling form),
it is your choice to appear or not. Nothing will be affected either if you do not appear or if you (by chance) fail in paper 3.
But if you pass in it,then you will have to show them proof of subject at a later stage, failing to show you will not be eligible just for statistical investigator post and will surely be considered for rest of the posts depending on your merit.

Now this information is available in SSC site itself and it seems there is no issue with it. But what’s the problem in being careful? That’s why we have around 30 minutes before the exam.

Someone please copy paste here the “English” instruction that comes with the admit card. In my admit it is in Hindi – may be because it is northern region.
