SSC CGL being held in 2014?

Since last few months, there had been fears, apprehensions and rumors that SSC CGL will not be held in 2014 because of “model code of conduct” during election year. And few days back, rumor market became active again that SSC will not hold exams in 2014 because Chindu ordered hiring freeze on new posts, under his austerity measures to reduce the fiscal deficit (Curiously When President Pratibha spent more than 200 crores rupees flying abroad, at that time he didnot talk of austerity!)

First good news: SSC has uploaded the tentative dates for its exams for 2014. The three main exams (CGL, SI-CAPF and 10+2) will be held as usual.

Second good news: SSC is given a target to recruit 2 lakh people by 2015.

But these are good news only for those willing to study hard. Otherwise “thik hai, dekhenge, there is still lot of time before the exam.” ….this type of casual approach towards competitive exams=#epicfail.

Tentative dates

CGL-2014 Tier 1= 27.04.2014 (Sunday) & 04.05.2014 (Sunday). (Application will start from 18^th Jan 2014)
CGL-2014 Tier 2= 30.08.2014 (Saturday) (AN) &31.08.2014 (Sunday)
SSC Combined Higher Secondary exam (10+2)= 02.11.2014(Sunday) & 09.11.2014 (Sunday)
Rectt. of SI in CAPFs, ASI in CISF and SI in Delhi Police Exam., 2014= 22.06.2014 (Sunday) (Paper-I) and 21.09.2014(Sunday) (Paper-II)

  S K Ranjan himself has accepted that stay has been issued and SSC will appeal to remove stay. But no message or tweets from him afterwards. If at all any postponement notice has to come, it should come mostly tomorrow (Thursday), if not Friday. Many aspirants who cleared have already booked tickets to travel and any intimation in the last minute will create chaos. I tired to grab a copy of the CAT decision, but not sure whether it is available/uploaded in public domain (including CAT site). Who knows they may postpone for Central region alone and other regions may go as usual.
  Better forget all these news, prepare and revise well for this Sunday. If postponed, no problem you are given additional time to prepare areas which you felt is tough.

    I have cleared high court clerical exam of Punjab and Haryana high court. The second phase is in a month. But I have some doubt. I have an engineering degree B.Tech. as per the notice, I will quote from official notice
    
    “” The minimum qualification for the post of Clerk is Bachelor of Arts, Commerce, Science or any other degree equivalent thereto from a recognized university and proficiency in operation of Computer (Word Processing and Spread Sheets).””
    
    Am I eligible if I clear the second phase.
    
    Also, what is the chatter about SSc canceling the exam. I also have Tier 2 for all posts. I was busy preparing. So, didn’t paid attention. I don’t think they will postpone now.

      boss i have cleared punjab high court exam and posted at ludhiana punjab you know the level of exam.so my request is plz do not join this department,this will spoil your life.if we wish to join then make a real life experience i.e go to court and observe work culture i am not terrifying you…………

  specifics might vary with individual preference and later career options but the general rule of thumb is:
  recruitment by SSC= good job,
  recruitment by UPSC = Great Job

  cisf is better one,dat is grade-A but you are likely to posted remote area’s also in you career.But you have all the amenities within ur campus.
  
  While latter one is grade-B Job,but likely to be in delhi throughout.

  Assistant commandtent is group A gazed officer job high dignity than the ssc b group job but in cisf ac you will suffer from civilian life mostly, less time with family more time with campus and naxal zone, not always.
  but ssc provides civilian job means better family planning much safe and reliable chance to live in a civil milieu.
  Finally the choice is yours ,army life (but much dignity, power) or civilian life much time to share with family rather than naxals. good luck dost
