Here is the latest (official) update on SSC CGL 2013 Tier II exam:
Yes, It will be held on 28th and 29th September, 2013 as per schedule.
Hon’ble Central Administrative Tribunal, Principal Bench, New Delhi in MA 2508/2013 in TA No 48/2013 had stayed all further proceedings in pursuance of the notification issued for Combined Graduate Level Examination, 2013 until further order vide its order dated 23.09.2013. The said stay has been vacated for holding this examination, vide order dated 26.09.2013 of the Hon’ble CAT, Principal Bench, New Delhi.

Background:
- Despite Paper leak case in April, 2013, the SSC went ahead with the same question papers and conducted the tier-I examination, held on all India basis, on April 21.
- One petitioner Nitant Trivedi approached Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT), New Delhi and hence CAT gave the stay on tier II exam.
- But now, Stay order has been lifted therefore, exam will be conducted on same schedule on 28-29 september 2013. (as per SSC’s official update)

please tell me that SI post in CBI is a permanent Delhi job or all India transferrable..
CBI is an All India org with offices in almost all state capitals, therefore technically one can be posted anywhere. But since 70% of the organization is Delhi based, one can spend substantial part (if not entire) of his career in the capital.
It is an all india job with branches in main cities …. and any transfer anywhere is possible … 70% organization is in delhi is absolute wrong information … CBI is divided in zones with each zone under the command of a joint director who reports to the special director and director who are in delhi … so main reporting headquarters in delhi but SI job is of no certainty u will get in delhi … its an all india liability once u sign for the job .. u cant deny going to any other city .. this goes for all central govt jobs but CBI being a police force at the end of the day the chain of command is a little more formal

css is posted only and only in delhi .. the reason why it has high cutoff … in cpt they ask one word document , one excel document and one ppt to be finished in given slot time . its different from the typing test taken for tax asst. as in it tests ur excel formulas and all other ability to do MS Office work faster ,,,, kindly practice it if u r aiming for it because generally candidates go there in overconfidence : ” main to roz computer pe 5 to 6 hours baithta hu aur kitni hi ppt bana li hai … ye test to main aaram se crack kar lunga ” and then they end up missing a few lines in word document and forgetting which formula to apply in excel… it is not that easy and not to be taken for granted … practice is a must ..
who told u dat css has high cutoff
the cutoff for getting post is not high because many of candidates with high marks fail in the CPT .. thats why it goes low … if result shows moderate cutoff for CSS doesnt mean cutoff is low .. its just that many students tried but didnt qualify CPT so the lower ones got the opportunity .. if we assume that all the top candidates get qualify CPT then cutoff for CSS will go high .. also its the job providing guarantee Delhi job so it goes higher.. the cutoff..
I dont think candidates with high marks will opt for a delhi job instead of his home state. In delhi cost of leaving is very high and the salary difference between delhi and other small cities is merely 10% of basic (nearly Rs 2000/-). I think a candidate will opt for css+delhi only if he has other future plans in mind (like upsc etc)– otherwise no advantage for opting delhi.
even if with other plans in mind (like upsc)… a candidate will not apply for delhi if he knows that travel time will be near 3+ hours from moderatly costly locations. so its better to stay in small cities and prepare for other options.
Will a total of 400(tier1 + tier 2) be good enough for the Excise inspector job ?
@admin– i’v a query relating state preferences & postings. In my applc form i’v filled only 5 states(bihar,up,delhi,jharkhand,uttrakhand) & left blank all other boxes. m getting 420 marks(obc) and post preferences r as ITI,Divisional accountant,central secret,excise,.etc. So,what r my possibilities of getting interview posts and where,.??

The Commission has decided to dispense with Descriptive/On-line
test of qualifying nature as mentioned in Note-I under Para-9 & Para-9(F)
of the Notice of the Examination.
Other contents of the Notice will remain unchanged.
