SSC CGL being held in 2014?
Since last few months, there had been fears, apprehensions and rumors that SSC CGL will not be held in 2014 because of “model code of conduct” during election year. And few days back, rumor market became active again that SSC will not hold exams in 2014 because Chindu ordered hiring freeze on new posts, under his austerity measures to reduce the fiscal deficit (Curiously When President Pratibha spent more than 200 crores rupees flying abroad, at that time he didnot talk of austerity!)
First good news: SSC has uploaded the tentative dates for its exams for 2014. The three main exams (CGL, SI-CAPF and 10+2) will be held as usual.
Second good news: SSC is given a target to recruit 2 lakh people by 2015.
But these are good news only for those willing to study hard. Otherwise “thik hai, dekhenge, there is still lot of time before the exam.” ….this type of casual approach towards competitive exams=#epicfail.
Tentative dates
- CGL-2014 Tier 1= 27.04.2014 (Sunday) & 04.05.2014 (Sunday). (Application will start from 18th Jan 2014)
- CGL-2014 Tier 2= 30.08.2014 (Saturday) (AN) &31.08.2014 (Sunday)
- SSC Combined Higher Secondary exam (10+2)= 02.11.2014(Sunday) & 09.11.2014 (Sunday)
- Rectt. of SI in CAPFs, ASI in CISF and SI in Delhi Police Exam., 2014= 22.06.2014 (Sunday) (Paper-I) and 21.09.2014(Sunday) (Paper-II)

I have appeared in SSC Tier 2. I have filled my first choice as Assistant CSS and second is Income tax and third is Customs, excise n so on.
I wd be getting a score that I can qualify Income tax too.
Please tell that what if I fail the Computer test which is complsory for CSS, would I be alloted my next choice, if I have marks for the Income tax ?
Or I would be disqualified for the whole process if I fail the Computer test of CSS ?
Second choice to be considered if you skip/fail CPT.
from which date age will be calculated ..? from 01/01/2014 or somewhere from march april.please reply.

hello sir, in ssc cgl 2013 i gave udc in other ministries as first option.i want to get ta cbdt which was my second preference.whether udc is a low vacancy post so that i can get my second prefernce.last year it was 12.

Going by this pattern, the one that is there on the hyperlink, there would be 7 written exams for each candidate. (that is if they clear tier 2). Do you really think SSC has that much time ? When it is taking them so much time to evaluate OMR sheets for the lakhs of students that are applying, which they just have to enter into a machine. Just imagine how time consuming will it be if they resort to descriptive paper. Firstly, there will be no sure shot answer, our marks will depend mainly on the examiner’s mood. Secondly, there is a bigger chance of cheating now because it can take place at two levels (appearing as well as checking). It would be absolutely absurd for ssc to do away with it’s present pattern of evaluation, because it will take them years and years to declare the result in such a scenario

SSC fixed the maximum age limit as 27 for CGL exams. But this is against the natural justice because life expectancy of Indians increased by 20% in last 15 years, more over SSC earlier conducted Auditor exams, tax inpector exams, CGL(before 2000) and all group B,C post exams as age limit 30. More over civil service, bank PO all similiar exams have age limit as 30 and planning to increase to 35 because of higher life expectancy. More over a general category candidate finish his PG in 23-25 years after 1-2 years formal computer education he will became age over without getting a single chance. So every one need to complaint against this unscientific age limit to President, PM, Chairman SSC. Mass compalint will make an effect. SSC will not alow to attend any exam above 27. This age limit is totally unscientific. So you need to forward your complaint to DOPT Minister,PM,President, Chairman SSC

i dont agree with mr ashish. like sarthak i was in final yr in the session 12-13. and SSC asked to possess the provisional degree “”” as on 1 jan 13 “”” that means six months b4 i passed out. So mr. sarthak bad news is that u r nt eligible in 2014 but good news is u hv enough time to beat 2015 with perfection

they have said to submit the marksheets of the three years graduation .but ENGG , students have 4 years . can u give brief explanation on this wheather this is mistake made by the commission or something else
