Prologue
- Here comes the result for the Writing competition of November 2013. Zip file containing all entries, given at bottom of this page.
- Thanks to the entries received over these three months, following topics of the mains syllabus are covered in an exam-oriented, revision friendly manner:
- (GS1) Indian culture, impact of globalization on Indian society, Post-independence consolidation and reorganization; geography-natural phenomenon, resource distribution
- (GS2) Polity-various bills, amendments, comparing Indian constitution with other countries, Representation of Peopleās Act; Bilateral relations and groupings; Yearbook topics: planning, SHG, development, e-governance etc
- (GS3) sci-tech, nanotech, robotics; infrastructure, policies, schemes; disaster management, EIA; security related: non-state actors, money laundering, border management etc.
- (GS4) thinkers, corporate governance, good governance etc.
- All the entries are in MS-word, so you may add/edit/merge/update them as per your requirements to make ākiller revision notesā.
- Again, as a result of these notes, the collective savings of manhours, electricity and internet bandwidth=itād run into lakhs of rupees. Therefore, I consider this competition a great success. And will continue it for upcoming months as well.

can anyone explain, to what extent WORLD HISTORY is important for those who take history as optional?? which optional paper(1 or 2) contain world history and what % of marks could it possibly take??
It is almost 1/3 portion of history paper-2 in mains….
a calculated guess is that world history will cover almost 80 marks in history paper 2 …and 15-30 marks in general studies paper 2

Hi,Is there any NIOS or IGNOU material for philosophy.I am going to appear in 2015.I digged lot of websites including NIOS but I didn’t found any useful material for that.Please help me guys in this regard and also I am in dilemma whether to take that optional(philosophy) or else can I opt for public administration(I have material for this from vajiram-and I came to know that more than 50% aspirants opting that optional and also scores in paper-I are less in 2012 result.I am unable to compete in pub ad so I want to shift to philosophy).If I get philosophy material I can compare my self with both subjects.2015 will be my first attempt.Basically I am B.Tech graduate.Thanks in advance.

@sruthi u can take pub ad because even in gs mains it helps n forget 2012 exam past is past now present pattern changed i mean marks before 600 now 500from both papers so don’t feel like that i recommend u to take syllabus n study for optional any institute material is like 50% work so u go through syllabus prepare urself becoz my optional zoology so i’m doing the same if my tips helps u follow or leave it n last but not least read kurukshetra magazine if u take pub ad as ur optional happily prepare for civils keep it Cool….
