Individual cut off decided by IBPS and according to dat Bank will be alloted to u according to ur preference
it means u are qualified for inrerview subject to u meet all the criteria (when they check your documents they will verify whether u were eligible or not)

I called IBPS and asked what does “provisionally selected” mean, the guy told me that the candidates who have applied twice for the same exam i.e PO 3 and have qualifed the written test will be disqualified once each candidate’s data is checked. Hope no one has done this.
applied twice means the person has twice given the fees for exam after applying each time and no one is such a fool.
“Provisionally selected” means you are selected for interview if you have all the documents which prove your eligibility for exam and provide them at the time of interview. I know this because I have been selected in IBPS CLERK 2.

I just wanted to share a sad story with you all. I have never cleared any competitive examination in my life till now. Flunked in the above one 3rd time also. Flunked in CSE prelims 4 times. Flunked in 5 other bank P.O exams I wrote. I have never cleared in any of the objective exams I have written.
My mistake is I am over confident and feel that I know a lot. I never rechecked the questions and never bothered to find out the answers after the exam. I am sure no one else would have failed like I have. And no one else are as lazy as I am. Please guys check what you have done after you write any competitive exam. Although I have flunked so badly, my advice is not unworthy for your consideration.

You are loosing faith brother. I am avid reader of mrunal blog but never written anything but today i felt compelled to do so.
I wont write much just would suggest you to first please do not loose your trust on yourself. You know where the problem is so it easy to diagnose and cure it. Find a reason behind your motivation as any thing you do always has some motivation even drinking water. Correct your pattern if you still have energy and age left behind you and I hope you definitely would have that. Its always fight between real self , idle self and social self as per Carl Rogers and let your idle self govern you up-till the time you don’t succeed.
You know you always had that in you just time is not ripe give your best shot again.

“provisionally selected” means you have qualified for the interview provided you meet the eligibility criteria which will be checked by the documents you will have to carry to the interview venue.

Well I am in, what to say i really didn’t expect it after attempting around 100 questions only but here i am capitalising on my accuracy as i know whatever i have attempted it was cent percent correct apart from the GA section where i might have put some arrows in wrong direction. This was my first attempt, cleared RRB PO as well just feeling awesome. One thing I learned is that dont worry about the questions attempted just focus on your accuracy coz few of my frnds attempted in between 120-30 questions but they didn’t make it unfortunately.
Those who didn’t make it just don’t lose hope one day you are gonna taste the sweet sweet success ofcourse.
And thanks to Mrunal for providing that compiled PIN,awards and all the current affairs, that really did make a difference.

It seems sectional cutoffs have gone very low. I had very hard time in the exam attempting as low as 10 questions in the Quant section. Did not perform well in reasoning also. Still i have been given a chance for interview. I am surprised more than happy. Anyway, congrats to those who are expecting good marks.

Dear all,
To be frank I am really surprised after seeing result. Last time in CWE 2, I personally felt that I have given my best but shocked after seeing result. When I noticed my marks, it gave me further shock. I have cleared with 30+ in CS,GS, Reasoning and English, but failed to qualify in aptitude. Scoring the minimum marks in aptitude and descriptive could have fetched me around 170 which was a very good score last time, but I was out of the race. But this time I prepared well, gave multiple practise tests and I gave my exam on Nov 9 evening session. I struggled in aptitude, not satisfied with GS and English, computer was a average performance and missed reasoning in time management. Finally I attempted around 25+ in GS and English; 14+ in Computer, just 10 in reasoning ( 1 or 2 wrong even), 15 in aptitude (few are random answers without solving, just by approximation). When I came out I was totally devastated, I was sure that I will not pass. I never waited for result and I just started with my civils preparation. I just checked my result expecting(99%) a failure, but it was a shock. I cleared. Even now I am expecting a low margin near the cut off, but highly confident in giving the interview, hoping my civils preparation will not be let me off.

I (Male, General category) have cleared all the IBPS exams I have appeared till date (5 nos) EXCEPT Spl Officers 2013 (missed the total cutoff by a huge 2 marks). BUT, the fact remains that I don’t have a bank job yet. Expecting marginal marks this time too. See, the point is, IT IS NOT ENOUGH TO JUST QUALIFY, YOU HAVE TO “OWN” THE EXAM!! All the General category aspirants out here, know for a fact that you have to score close to 150-160 to get in the merit list, and we’re not talking about the interview yet. Get a grip on yourselves people!

Bhai, these are way too much for this time’s attempt. It was a very tough/lengthy paper. Very time consuming. My no. of attempts went down by a good 25 questions!

I have cleared too, attempted 151 Questions and expecting 115 to 120 to be correct, I think since paper was tougher this time, still cut offs will be around 105 marks for getting intrvw call.
Any body has any news about SBI PO wait list? Aegi ya nai aegi, Kab aegi…. Boht sare selected candidates ne extension le rakha hai, jiski wajah se baki candidates ka bhavishya adhar mein latka hai.
I cleared the Objective, descriptive, GD, PI, all the individual cut offs by decent margin, scored 189 overall out of 300 but Merit list mein dhoka ho gaya because of the ratio system done by SBI. They convert 250 score(obtained in Objective+subjective) to 75 out of 100 and then GD PI marks of 50 is converted to 25 out of 50, then the merit list is formed out of this 100 marks obtained. I mean itna complicated kyu karte hai yaar ye process ko, jo jitne marks ka rakhna hai shuru mein hi rakh do utna. Atleast aspirants will have clearer idea about kaha kitni mehnat karni hai. 2 marks kum reh gaye final merit list mein, It pains a lot :-(
Sir,Please post about IBPS SO[Specialist officers].I done my graduation in Agricultural Engineering.How I prepared for Agriculture section.
AN EXPERIENCE
I did not specifically prepared for IBPS po as I was waiting for ssc cgl results.In the paper it was a complete planning and practice mess. I took 40 mins for the English section as i thought that was my strength though i attempted almost all the questions.In the General awareness and computer sections i took little risk and also attempted doubtful questions.I was left with very little time for reasoning and Quant section.In reasoning i mostly attempted statement type questions as it could be done with less time casualties.I could not do syllogisms as i forgot the formulas.I was left with some 20 mins for the quant section.When I switched on to the Quant section,I thought I lost it looking at the lengthy sums.But i took a deep breadth and tried to stay calm.If I am not wrong i could hardly solve what! some 10 questions.
In totality i did 103 questions.Nevertheless, I got provisionally selected for the interview and now it depends on the marks.
What i mean to say by this experience is to follow your instincts in that 2 hours.Keeping in my mind the cutoffs of previous years many people ended up attempting more questions at the end when they were doing good till 115th minute.I suggest you to go strength by strength and learn from experiences.

my experience is also quite similar to u,until 118th min i solved only 105 questions,and in last 2 min i simply marked(by elimination method) 3 questions each in 3 sections to avoid sectional cutoff,i thought tat i lost in exam,but surprisingly im qualified,this is my first ibps po exam,and i was preparing for ssc tier 2 exam,so did not give time to ibps preparation,congrats for al who qualified the exam and for who did not qualify,this is not an end.

I also done like this. Around 100 questions I attempted. I never expected that I woud clear this exam. But, I provisionally selected for the interview. My problem is that I got a job in Gulf and I need to go by January first week. But, I prefer to get a bank job. So, I am in a confusion that whethe I have to throw away that Gulf chance or to attend the interview. If anyone guess or experience what’s the chance of such a boundry level score(around 100) and to get final seletion…

not 80 “marks” per se.
In the final merit list, the weightage given to (written score) : (interview score) = 80:20 ratio.

I am also selected for PO-III interview. I was also selected for PO-II interview in 2012 and got selected in waiting list of PO-II. I have got very low marks(40%) in interview. So friends i suggest u all that prepare very well for the interview. They generally ask questions related to basic banking terms and check your basic knowledge of banking sector and economy. Sometimes they may ask some questions from your graduation background as it happened in my case. So friends sincerely prepare for the interview.

@sumit:is the interview one-to-one i mean one candidate and 1 HR? or a group of persons ask questions to a single candidate? and is there any gd as such? is only banking and economy enuf or any thing related to current affairs also to be prepared?
There are 4 persons in my interview panel including 1 head, 1 hr, 1 technical officer and 1 some senior official. They will ask u question turn by turn. No GD in PO-II. They mainly ask from basic banking and economy sector. They may ask questions on your graduation background specially B.Tech and MBA people should take a serious note of it. They may ask about certain economy related major issue prevailing at that time. One thing i would like to mention here that if anybody want to tell them more they will definitely ask more from them.

9. Why u left the previous job in which u r getting double salary than bank PO
10. You have got very good marks in your graduation(B.Tech) then y u r not going for a PG degree or IAS?
11. What is liquidity and how RBI manage with it
12. Last but not the least one member said ” Why r u spoiling our one seat?”
In the end the head of the panel told me that your interview is very good

One imp. thing i would like to mention that if anybody having good marks in graduation (i.e more than 80%) they will ask y u r coming to banking sector. Secondly if anyone is from technical background then they will ask y u r not going for the technical job rather than PO. If any technical guy with experience attend the interview they will think that he will defintitely leave the PO job after sometime. So guys be careful about these things(specially techies)

They will not ask u very difficult questions or purely from core technical area. They will ask u basic questions from your field. Just keep an eyeview of some recent technological developments in your area of gradudation.
