ACIO written exam was conducted in 15 September 2013. Result was declared few days back, but in case some of the players are still unaware:

Around ~3900 candidates shortlisted for ~750 final vacancies. Meaning interview post to candidate ratio is slightly higher than 1:5. In most exams it is 1:3)

Interviews will commence from January 13 to January 25, 2013. That means less time for celebration and more time for interview preparation.
What to prepare for interview?

so just go through them to get a feel of how the interview goes. Note: every page contains 50 comments and interview experience sharing starts from comment page number 5.
Some tips (from those comments)
- 60% on your biodata. (Why do you want to join IB? Educational background, terminology, hobbies)
- 30% on current issue (mostly national and regional. + some current related to neighboring countries from IB/security/terrorism angle.)
- 10% intelligence system of India.
- If you are not fluent in English practice it, as sometimes panel member may insist that you answer a particular question in english.
- For some people it was for 5 mins and for some it went upto 20 mins.
- In the panel, one member will be observing you and taking notes.

Documents to bring in interview
- Original certificates in support of age, educational
- qualifications (Matriculation onwards including mark sheets), other qualifications along with an attested photocopy of each of the documents;
- Original certificate in support of belonging to
- OBC/SC/ST/Ex-serviceman/J&K resident category issued from the competent authority in the prescribed proforma along with an attested photocopy thereof;
- Original certificates in support of claimed achievements in Sports/Games and other extracurricular activities along with an attested photocopy of each of the documents.
- A photo identity proof like voter ID card, PAN card, passport, driving license or any other valid proof to verify his/her identity.
- Candidates belonging to OBC category and claiming benefits thereunder must bring their OBC certificate in the proforma meant for appointment to the posts under Government of India as published in the advertisement (copy enclosed) and not for State Government jobs. If they fail to do so, they will not be allowed to appear in the interview. Certificate in any other proforma will not be accepted in any case.
- One copy each of Attestation Forms (A.F.) and Special Security Questionnaire (SSQ) may also be downloaded which are required to be filled in by the candidate for carrying out Character & Antecedents verification wherever required. These forms may please be filled in for all the columns correctly and completely and in case the space provided in any of the column is not sufficient for furnishing the information sought, the candidate can utilize an extra sheet. This is, however, made clear that issuance and filling up of the attestation form (AF) and SSQ at this stage does not mean that the candidate has been or would be necessarily selected to the post of ACIO-II/Exe. The duly filled in AF and SSQ forms are required to be deposited by the candidate on the day of interview.
- The candidate is advised to bring this interview letter without which he/she would not be allowed entry. It may be made clear that no request for change of date and place would be entertained.

My friend’s father works in Admistrative division in MHA. I asked them if they had any info. He said that we will be lucky if it comes in the first week of April, but he said that they will come most probably come in the last week of May, after all the polling results are declared.
As of now, the whole ministry is busy finishing up, organising and closing the files of the current govt. All the ten years files are being organised since one month and will take another month atleast. Its the same story in all the central ministries….

but administrative depart. is diff from recruitment depart. both has diff work to do….. i dont think this is d reason for delay in result… there is some diff reason……. agar aisa hota to fir upsc, fci ka result bhi nai aata…..in every ministry there is diff deaprtment for diff work….. never whole department from boss to peon is involved in same work. i belive result will come much before results even b4 end of 9 phases……

There’s already much speculation about the results now , but one thing I have heard that most of the guys who gave the interview of IB are non willing to join . For them it is the last resort .
Can we know at least who are the serious players on this forum ?
If anybody has information how many months will ib take for joining after declaration of the results
Dear mrunal sir, please delete this conversation page” ACIO results”, First people were exchanged their views, and then they differed with one another, and then they started criticizing IB organization for delaying results.Now their madness gone to peaks, they are using cuss words and quarreling among them. I have commented only twice here, but i am used to read this page for latest discussions about ACIO-IB final results. I think with frustration people are doing like this.Please delete this page looking full of abusive language.

See its not possible that everyone agrees to everything one has to say on this page..differences will always prevail.All we have to do is tolerate it..that person matters nothing to you.Today was a sunday so I didnt talk to MHA but tomorrow I’ll surely do it and I will try to persuade them to tell me the exact reason for this delay.I would request them to clearly mention if the results are to be published after elections.I am fortunate that they never hang up on me..they provide to me in detail and its me who always cuts the call first.Dont think that I have a source in MHA..may be dont get irritated at hearing my voice..hehe.

I have a question ,,can you please tell me if one get selected in IB 2013,,what would be one’s joining date?will they give time of one year or less than a year?
It would probably be less then a year……….Provided you are not in the absentee batch or wait-listed batch.
As ib people are given task of political intelligence gathering and there is a lot much work to do during election so do expect results only after completion of election process

Had a detailed chat with the MHA guy at 1:15 PM today.First I asked when will the result be published to which he said ‘We are trying to declare it in the 1st week of April.’ I said ‘Sir why is it getting delayed so much..compared to last year?’ He said that candidates should not be afraid of this delay..nothing bad for them.Delay is due to genuine reasons.’ I said ‘ But Sir this delay is too much..you must understand each candidate’s condition.’He remained silent..I thought he became angry at my repeated queries but suddenly he spoke ‘See we know how you all must be feeling but believe me result is coming out soon.’ I finished it off with a cheerful ‘Thank you so much Sir.’ Guys I think we should keep a grip on ourselves..result might be published in any of the coming days. #Hopeful Again#

Candidates who have appeared in the NICL AO interview I have a news for you guys.Final result for Generalist stream would be published before 15th April..results of other disciplines will also be displayed in the meantime.Automobile and Librarian stream results already declared on website.

The verification office at the Kolkata interview center..chance is before 15th April.
I called too at 3 36 pm.I asked sir why is the results getting delayed. he said results are in submission stage(though I didn’t get them) and will be declared in 1st or 2nd week of April.
I called today and they said it will come in mid of next month, I asked whether is it delayed due to elections they said no. and again said wait till mid April it will definitely come. Hope this time they are correct.
If I prophesise then 8th of April looks rather good ( i have just manipulated this date by considering few assumptions and pattern, they haven’t given or said about this date.)
8th of April is a Central Govt holiday, very little chance of declaring results on a public holiday. I guess you didn’t account for that.

How much time does it take between results and call letter??? means medical n verification procedure.SSC Ib assistant offers gradepay 4600 whereas acio 4200 despite a field job, is crucial in gross salary as at the end of the day in our society one’s status is decided either by salary or by power…. What is acio grade 2 next 5- 10 years his promotion facilities n switching to other agencies??
