What to prepare for interview?

Some tips (from those comments)
- 60% on your biodata. (Why do you want to join IB? Educational background, terminology, hobbies)
- 30% on current issue (mostly national and regional. + some current related to neighboring countries from IB/security/terrorism angle.)
- 10% intelligence system of India.
- If you are not fluent in English practice it, as sometimes panel member may insist that you answer a particular question in english.
- For some people it was for 5 mins and for some it went upto 20 mins.
- In the panel, one member will be observing you and taking notes.

Documents to bring in interview
- Original certificates in support of age, educational
- qualifications (Matriculation onwards including mark sheets), other qualifications along with an attested photocopy of each of the documents;
- Original certificate in support of belonging to
- OBC/SC/ST/Ex-serviceman/J&K resident category issued from the competent authority in the prescribed proforma along with an attested photocopy thereof;
- Original certificates in support of claimed achievements in Sports/Games and other extracurricular activities along with an attested photocopy of each of the documents.
- A photo identity proof like voter ID card, PAN card, passport, driving license or any other valid proof to verify his/her identity.
- Candidates belonging to OBC category and claiming benefits thereunder must bring their OBC certificate in the proforma meant for appointment to the posts under Government of India as published in the advertisement (copy enclosed) and not for State Government jobs. If they fail to do so, they will not be allowed to appear in the interview. Certificate in any other proforma will not be accepted in any case.
- One copy each of Attestation Forms (A.F.) and Special Security Questionnaire (SSQ) may also be downloaded which are required to be filled in by the candidate for carrying out Character & Antecedents verification wherever required. These forms may please be filled in for all the columns correctly and completely and in case the space provided in any of the column is not sufficient for furnishing the information sought, the candidate can utilize an extra sheet. This is, however, made clear that issuance and filling up of the attestation form (AF) and SSQ at this stage does not mean that the candidate has been or would be necessarily selected to the post of ACIO-II/Exe. The duly filled in AF and SSQ forms are required to be deposited by the candidate on the day of interview.
- The candidate is advised to bring this interview letter without which he/she would not be allowed entry. It may be made clear that no request for change of date and place would be entertained.

Actually the cut off for the first list was 133 in general category and my marks was 127 ( General Category ) and I’m waiting for the second list.
what second list bhai ???? is there some 2nd list expected?
Of course there will be a second list and it is expected to be released around January-February 2015.
hello prashant…i was told by the senior that at the time of 5th pay commission..all the 3 cadres acio 2, assistant through ssc cgl and personel assistants were getting same pay scale of 6500 bt in 6 th pay commission assistants n p.a were alloted 4600 g.p where as as ours remained at 4200 leading to disparity among rank and file. so on this very ground the decision has been challenged..lets hope fr the best. and if the pay grade is increased from 4200 to 4600 than automatically acio-1 pay grade vl jump to 4800 g.p.

Had a conversation with a friend who had been selected for the 22 sept batch…he said that the environment is good there and training is ok..pay would be between 25-30 k…in his batch the no.of candidates are 118 out of which 16 are girls…and except a few states,candidates from all the states are in his batch..(to my surprise a few are from delhi also)…candidates are free to do anything after 8-8:15…but after 10,lights are switched off..so we can expect a lil bit of study there if going for other exams as well..i hope i clarified smthing for u guys waiting anxiously for the call letter..just like me..cheers

Hi TS, they are calling a few guys from each state to constitute one batch. Which means some may be called earlier and some very late(like 4th or 5th batch), even if they belong to the same state.
As for as any clarity regarding joining dates, I don’t think anybody will be able to give a satisfactory answer except the IB itself.

Hie someone please help me I am unable to open Ministry Of home Affairs website from long time. Whenever I click to MHA it shows website is not available,I had tried from IE 10 & Google chrome.
Bro i didn’t ask my friend in much detail but its not that tough..1.6 km daily morning alongwith some other exercises like 20-25 push ups constitute the training..its repeated also in the evening..he said that advanced training like self defence and arms training would soon start as well..training there is real fun..everybody will njoy it..for those who start jogging one month before training will find it very easy…cheers

Many top websites are showing this notification regarding the recruitment in Intelligence Bureau. Even when one googles ‘mha ib recuitment 2014’ … many websites on the first page itself mentiones the following (i am copy pasting it) :

Can there be a direct recruitment to the post of DCIO (5400 paygrade) ??
I request you folks to please let me know the veracity of this advertisement and if it is true…then how to apply for it as i have checked every nook and corner of MHA website but couldn’t find a way to do it..Please reply as soon as possible as only a few days are remaining in 22nd october (more so because one needs to apply for it offline i.e. via post)

The links available in the recruitment notice leads us to ib site but there is no mention of it there.

i checked with one of my acquaintance who is an additional director in IB. he told that this a roomer and they are finding the person who created this.. many fake jobs of ib are being posted even in well known sites..
Posts like DCIO or ACIO can be applied directly only when the employee is in state or central govt with relevant job experence.
DCIO are usually the ones who are promoted from ACIO !!
Also there are Group A officers who are given this post based on deputations from CAPF’s.
There is surely no direct recruitment for DCIO.
ACIO grade II is the post where you enter in.
Also plz beware of frauds who claim they have inside contacts and get you a job in IB !!
One of the persons i know emptied his pocket by paying 1 lakh for a guy who claimed he will get him a job and even got his roll no only to vanish in thin air !! haha

Hi Madhu, yes you can apply for ACIO 2014 if you fulfill requirements mentioned in the notice. Married or not, girl or a boy everyone can sit for the exams.
But be aware the job requires a lot of conviction and can be tough at times. A lot of recent recent achievements have been the result of hard working female officers. Good luck.

Hi guys can you please tell me if Varicocele veins and heart murmur will be a problem in medical test for IB ACIO?
You just get the medical reports of the prescribed tests, and submit it along with the form that is there along with your appointment letter. The C.M.O is to decide whether or not to qualify you as medically fit for the job.People also buy medical certificates but try not to and get rid of your niggles and resubmit the form if at all they declare you unfit or refer medication.
How often an acio get to work with RAW? Any info on this
I guess IB and raw are two different organisations altogether, you can work in resonance but you cannot get into.
There are departmental trasnfers for RAW from IB.
RAW is also spanned by officers from Army and CAPF ‘s
So its pretty much of a mix you find in RAW depending on various assignments.
I was declared medically unfit by army medical board last year due to a minor vericocele and its surgery is also not possible as its pretty minor

Read vericocele and it’s characteristics, I guess it must not be a problem for IB. Scrotal supporters can manage the morning drills :)

Though NCERT books are the best but given the time constraint I would suggest you some GK books like Arihant for the traditional GK .Besides prepare for current affairs like the budget,awards etc.
Apart from this English,maths n reasoning.
If u read newspaper n magazines,those will take care of ur essay
sir tell me when acio 2014 exam will conducted so i can manage my time for its preparation. also recommend some book for english portion so i can put matter in exam such as “gagar me sager”.
