Prologue WARNING
- DONOT apply for this EXAM before knowing the job profiles of various posts offered under this exam (Assistant, Inspectors, Auditors, Clerks etc.) Otherwise, Even if you get high marks, you’ll get lower job IF you tick job preferences foolishly. Job profiles covered in separate article CLICK ME, read it thoroughly before you tick the preferences in the application form. They’ll not allow you to change job preference at later stage.
- DONOT tick job preference for Statistical invigilator/compiler posts UNLESS you’ve relevant eligibility. (minimum 60% in class 12 maths OR studied statistics at degree level.)
- DONOT Apply for this exam IF You are in last year or last semester of graduation. (Because candidate must have finished the bachelor’s degree on or before 1/1/2014)
- and most importantly, DONOT misplace your registration id and roll number after the exam is over. Write it down down at multiple places: in your mobile contact list, in google docs, in the wall-calendar in drawing room and in your bio data/certificate file. (Same principle for all competitive exams you appear in.)
In short, first get familiar with this exam-system, SSC technicalities are bit different than UPSC and IBPS. So, don’t make haste in filling the application form, read the official notification first.

I made some mistake in tying date of birth, graduation marks or xyz thing, can I apply again?
Ans. In case of multiple applications for on-line application, the last application for which part-i and part-ii registration have been completed will be accepted.

Ans. Job profiles for individual posts, given in a separate article CLICK ME,
Rule of thumbs are:

– Want peace of mind, family life, permanently settle in Delhi= Assistants in Group B in certain ministries.
– Want posting in foreign country= Assistant in Ministry of External affairs.
– Non interview posts should be given last preference because they get less salary, power, promotion than interview posts.

|
State’s own list and Central government’s list are different.Your caste MUST be in central list. Check here http://www.ncbc.nic.in/centrallistifobc.htmlFor example,
The Commission has decided to accept OBC certificate, in the prescribed format, issued after the closing date for receipt of application but issued on or before the date of completion of last tier of the examination i.e. Interview/Skill Test/Computer Proficiency Test/ Document Verification, as applicable , in the concerned SSC Regional Office, as valid proof of belonging to non-creamy layer of OBC. NOTE:- Candidates are warned that they will be permanently debarred from the examinations conducted by the Commission in case they fraudulently claim SC/ST/OBC/ExS/PH status. |
|
|
- In short, make sure you’ve these certificates, else make trip to Tehsildar’s office/Collector Office/Jan-Seva Kendra and get the proper certificates.

RTI
Q. I want to file RTI to SSC for xyz matter
Ans. How to file RTI, is explained in following article click me
No. of vacancies?
Q. How many vacancies are there, for those individual posts?
Ans. Firm number of vacancies in each category of posts will be determined at least one month before the declaration of the final results.
Last Semester
Q. I’m in the last semester/ last year of college? Can I apply?
Ans. No. You must have completed graduation on OR before 1st January 2014. Otherwise, they’ll reject you at document verification stage.
Let’s assume you prepare extremely well and clear tier 1 and tier 2, still they’ll reject you at document verification stage. So, instead of occupying a seat at tier-II, tier III, better let a needy person get those seats.
Besides, SSC will release official answerkeys and cut-offs. So, you can practice the same question paper at home. (instead of appearing in the exam just for the sake of “experience”).

Q- I have not filled the non interview post as my preference , can i get that post because now i am planning to change my preference order?
No , SSC strictly followed the preference order , if you have not filled the post then you will not get it .
Q I have a backlogs in my graduation , that i have still not cleared , can i fill this form?
No, if you have back it means you have not yet completed your graduation .
Q i have 45% marks in graduation , can i fill this form ?
Central govt recruitment is based on merit system , for this they conduct written exam . Less marks in graduation / 10th / 12th does not create any problem . There is no such specific criteria, you can go ahead.
Q I use -5D spectacles , will it create any problem in income tax inspector or any other post ?
No , no problem at all. Your vision should be 6/6 using glasses.
Q i have not filled CSS cadre in my preference in 2012 exam , will it be count as a used attempt for CSS cadre.
If you have not filled CSS cadres in your preference / you dropped the idea to give T1 exam then this attempt will not be counted as a used attempt.
Q – i have filled statistical investigator post in my preference but i don’t have statistics as a subject in my graduation ?
Give T1 exam and don’t appear in statistics paper of T2. not a problem at all.

sir in the article about ssc you told that 2 certificates are required for candidate who want to claim OBC. i went through the notification the format for obc is only available in the site where as the format for non creamy layer certificate is not given. can u help in knowing the format of non creamy layer certificate and how to apply it.as the closing date is near by plz reply me as early as possible
@jagadesh –> OBC for central govt post means non creamy layer. If ur fathers income is more than 6 lakh/ annum then –> u r creamy layer .
Creamy layer OBC—> means u r not OBC and consider as general cat candidate.
OBC non creamy layer certificate + declaration by obc candidate is avl in govt sites
now i downloaded the two formats 1.given in the notification and 2. the declaration from the govt site. iam confused which format of certificate should be obtained during which period .plz kindly clarify
Declaration is nothing —> at time of interview , authorities will take undertaken from you.(they will give u and u have to sign there)
You have to obatain a certificate (mentioned in notificaton)from a officer ( rank not lower than tehsildar).

at the time of interview you may get chance
No chance of getting any chance again to change preference..Read the employment notice thoroughly..
M also in fray of waiting candidates for declaration of Tier-2 result… Seeing the protracted legal battle, I think we should better brace ourselves up for this year’s SSC and hope no untoward incident happens again, with the potential of halting whole of the selection process..
Hi All,
How do we give state preference? Is it on the basis of place where you appear for exam/paper.
Regards,
Shashank
I do not come under OBC Non creamy layer (My parents income exceed 7 lakhs). So should i mention my category while applying for SSC as General? Please reply and clarify this doubt.
Of course my dear child!!! 7 lakhs/annum means you are from rich and developed family. Such people doesn’t come under OBC Quotas.
creamy layer will not apply for salaried people,so u come under obc
yes, gen
@ Akhil–
Refer below link for creamy layer status
http://www.ncbc.nic.in/Pdf/Aboutcreamylayer.pdf
my father is in bank( psu ) sbi his income is more than 6 lakhs shall i be liable for the reservation in obc non creamy layer certificate
i read the notification but i was not clear about the psu sector idea mutatis mutandis
@ Saurabh verma–>
Usually Dist adm will check ur father’s income from the copy of income tax return . Do one thing go to SDM office and apply for obc certificate –> if they required ur father;s income tax return copy–> produce it
But if income exceed 6 lakh–> u will creamy layer (not obc for central govt)

SSC to Hold Re-Examination at Identified
Centers
Staff Selection Commission conducted Combined
Graduate Level Examination 2013 (Tier I) on April
21, 2013 and May 19, 2013. The Tier-II Exam
was held on September 29, 2013. There have
been reports of use of unfair means at a number
of centres identified by investigation agency in
Tier I and II.
Keeping in view the sanctity of the Examination,
interest of the candidates and the investigation
report received from Delhi Police it has been
decided by the Government to hold re-
examination of Tier-I and II at identified centres
from where reports of use of unfair means has
been received. The list of these centres will be
placed on the Commission’s website
(www.ssc.nic.in) shortly. Age relaxation, where
required would be permitted to appear for re-
examination.
source of information- pib.nic.in
If its like that then its a relief. at least better then cancellation!!!
sir exam kab tak honge?? aur ye exam sabko dena hoga kya?
upsc preparation ke liye kya auditor ki post theek hogi ?auditor post lene per home posting ke kitne chance hai?
thaaaaaankkkkkks a lotttttt !
Sir, I have given first preference to 5 non interview post and after that all the interview post. will it increase or decrease the chances of getting a job? as i just want to get a govt job either interview or non-interview. and what is the minimum marks needed for the general category candidate to get a position according to the last year ssc cgl
By this sequence, you won’t get interview post in any case. Bright chances for getting NIP though.
hi……………i am working with a psu.
Am i eligible for the age relaxation for this as they have notified working in govt sector.
kindly let me know.
now it is official that there will be re exam of cgl2013 of selected centres
paper of tier 2 was damn easy earlier…so this is sure that now in re-exam the level of paper will be tough…so these new centre aspirant will definitely get much less marks than earlier…this is very bad news for the selected centres ie delhi, jaipur, patna, allahabad, shimla, deharadun and Lucknow. …hard luck agn..no time to prepare because mains preparation was gng on of upsc ..and than have to focus on pre …bad luck for me..
Don’t worry. If the paper is tough, cut off for these selected centres will also get reduced.
