I am preparing for UPSC exam. I choose Gujarati Literature as my Mains Subject. Can you Please suggest me books for the same….
Thanks for this, I am from english medium schooling background, exploring guj litt as optional.
Is it possible to write socio in english and gujj lit is obviously gonna be in gujarati. So is it possible to write one optional in gujarati(guj litt) and one optional(socio is my second opt) in English
in your mains form,
indicate written medium = English.
so you’ll have to write GS, Essay and Socio papers in English.
And Guj litt. paper will have to be written in Gujarati script only, in any case. (according to UPSC rule.)
so don’t worry.
I’m from Gujarati background from schooling so its possible to give examination of upsc mains in Gujarati.

I am a Dental Surgeon. Hence, my graduation is definitely not in English Literature. Can I take English Literature as an optional for UPSC Mains 2014 ?
I’m asking because there was some controversy regarding the selection of literature subjects as an optional, in the brochure of 2013, which I am sure you must be aware.
