- Congratulations to those who passed.
- Those who could not make it in the list: there is more to life than just one exam so, don’t be a Devdas, prepare for the next competition exam and or whatever other career backup plans that you have.
- 18th June 2013: from this day, successful candidates can download their Call Letter and Bio-data Format.
- 3rd July 2013: from this day, The Phase II (Group discussion and personal interview) will start.
Importance of GDPI?
As per notification,
- your written marks (out of 250) are converted to out of 75
- and marks secured in Group Discussion & Interview (out of 50 marks maximum) are converted to out of 25.
- The final merit list is arrived at after aggregating converted marks of Written Test and Group Discussion & Interview out of 100 for each category.
- =As we can see, Written weightage =3/4th and GDPI weightage is just 1/4th.
But ^that should not lead to any laziness on GDPI preparation because notification further says:
- The qualifying marks in Group Discussion & Interview will be as decided by the Bank.
- The candidates will have to qualify both in Phase-I and Phase-II separately.

No. My colleague and I have the same date , time and venue for interview . It might be location wise or they are probably calling working people on a Saturday .. Does not mean our marks are similar.
There is nothing like that. Usually interview dates will be based on category wise. Ppl who belongs to same category will call on particular date. If its in general then it will be Roll no wise. So nothing to be panic if u got ur Interview later stage

got message to appear in GDPI on 3rd july, 11 AM at Jaipur…dont know if they have called me up to inaugurate and commence the interviews. Date Seems too early and then they double crossed it by putting my interview in morning shift itself.

I have cleared SBI PO written exam. Hopefully will also clear the SSC CGLE.
Reading some experiences online of working POs, it seems that the work schedule is very, very hectic. My main aim is CSE (hopefully clearing CSAT) and I only wish to join for career continuity reasons, as i have already resigned from previous job 1 yr back. So, comparing SBI PO and some Asst post thru SSC, what are the pros and cons of each service? also, can joining in SBI deferred, and if so, for how long?
When you compare SBI PO with jobs offered in SSC, latter is much better if u r aiming for CSE. In SSC you have time at your hand that is more decisive to make it threw CSE. however monetary benefits are more in SBI PO. AS far as I known you can not defer joining for more than 3 months that too in case of informing them of such requirment while filing up biodata form. You need to inform them about any liability u carry from previous employer and time you will take to join if offer is made to you.

Bank jobs are extremely mentally-tiring/brain-draining/blood-sucking and SBI is most stressful. Its 9-10 hours of daily work plus half Saturdays. Though SBI pays good with great perks, SSC jobs (interview posts plus some non-interview ones) are a lot better, CSE preparation or no CSE preparation.
they have asked for the character certificates issued by the school/ college last attended. but i have not received any such certificate. do i have to go to my college to get one??

Dear Friends….In the call letter of SBi PO , they have written that “in case of OBC candidates,OBC certificate in the format prescribed by the government of India and issued by the competent authority during the period 01.04.2012 to date of interview inter alia specifically stating that you do not belong to socially advanced section” has to be brought. My OBC certificate has been issued dated March 2010.
What do i need to do to update my certificate? Do i have to renew my certificate or have to apply for re-issue of my certificate altogether? Or no such thing is required during GD/PI stage?
If anyone has any idea about the necessary procedures, please help.

Friends i have a character certificate isssued by my college dated august/2011…will that work?? Or i hav to go all the way to my college again???….thought of going to college to get a new one issued is seriously chilling my nerves…..my college clerk has a degree in harasment.
