In SSC CGL 2013 (Tier 2) Paper 1 Booklet No. 445OL600, the Question No.98 was as following:
Q.98 The average Kharif production in the given year is:
- 4 million tonnes
- 5 million tonnes
- 4.5 million tonnes
- 5.5 million tonnes
Official Answer given by SSC is (C), but the correct answer is (A) because:
Definition of Average = (sum of all observation) / (No. of observations)
As per the given chart, Average Kharif production
=(5+4+4+3+4)/5
=20/5
=4 million tonnes
Hence answer is (A).

Mrunal, please ENLIGHTEN us about how to file a representation regarding CGL answer keys( about the format, whom to address etc)…seems like there are some terrible discripancies in the official keys..

I think fax is the only way. These fax numbers are given in write up of tier1 key.
The letter should contain the question paper set number along with your argument regarding the answer.

Tier I – 97.5
Tier II
Paper I (Math) – ( 49 correct – 5 incorrect ) total = 95.5
Paper II (English) ( 168 correct – 32 incorrect ) total = 160
if ur means general..then auditor ki bi possibilities bahut kam h…

pl clear my doubt, i give preference in such a way tht only interview post and auditor post is given by me. didn’t give TA as any preference. i m getting 360 including t1+t2.so in case i cleared non interview post. i ll be considered for TA or not?
absolutely not man..

it seems they generally dont consider for those posts which you have not given preference for (but there was an exception it seems last year).
But since you are gettin 360 and u hav given preference for auditor post you MIGHT GET auditor(CGDA) itself in some states.

friend lets mention the discrepancies in the answers as per the key here
1.in english-a pole or beam used as temporary support is SCAFFOLD but they have givenn it as prop(Q 68 ,556OK7)

a temporary structure for holding workers and materials during the erection, repair, or decoration of a building.
This is definition of scaffold as per dictionary.com
scaffold is temporary but is a structure or platform whereas prop is a temporary support and also it is a pole or beam and in question they have asked POLE or BEAM used as temporary support so prop is the right ans.i too marked scaffold in paper.
Haa yar..prop is more precise!! :(

Official answer for Q.98 Kharif Data interpretation is incorrect.

The question asked to find average Kharif production
=(5+4+4+3+4)/5=20/5=4 million tonnes Answer (A)
But as per the official key, the answer is 4.5 Million (C)!

sir this question is wrong in all answer keys. so this is obvious that ssc will surely update in all updated keys. so is there any use of sending fax by all candidtes.

What kind of scores you all are posting here? Are you all guys really getting these scores or you all are degrading others? Be practical in your approaches about this year’s cut off. Is it really possible that this year’s cut off will be more than 50 or 100 marks than the previous year? So stop fooling others and more than that yourself. Any serious candidate will not waste his/her time in posting his/her score.
As per the scores mentioned by candidates @Mrunal and other blogs I assume cutoff for interview posts to be more than previous year by 35-40 marks i.e. about 385-395 for general and 355-365 for OBC candidates. It’s just an assumption.
agree with u vipin..an increase of 35-40 marks looks reasonable keeping in mind difficulty level of the papers this year
