Subject: Discrepancy in the official Answerkey for SSC CGL 2013 (Tier 2)
Respected Sir,
In SSC CGL 2013 (Tier 2) Paper 1 Booklet No. 445OL600, the Question No.98 was as following:
Q.98 The average Kharif production in the given year is:
- 4 million tonnes
- 5 million tonnes
- 4.5 million tonnes
- 5.5 million tonnes
Official Answer given by SSC is (C), but the correct answer is (A) because:
Definition of Average = (sum of all observation) / (No. of observations)
As per the given chart, Average Kharif production
=(5+4+4+3+4)/5
=20/5
=4 million tonnes
Hence answer is (A).
Kindly do the necessary amends. Thanking you in anticipation,
Sincerely,

has any1 send an application for q no 97 112LO3 as the anwer released officially is incorrect.it should hve been option A, 4 million tonnes..PLZZZ!!! And almost in all the sets this ans has been given wrong. will ssc rectify this error or will they just ignore thinking that the error is for all…cut off is gona go high,it wont matter to the 1s who didnt opted this question during exams but for some like me its really irritating how ssc being the recruiting body does such silly mistakes playing with the life of thousands in such a tough competition…Sir do i need to send a complete postal letter or a fax would do…Plzz sir if u could forward this rectification request to ssc on behalf of all students like us it will be really gr8ful..Sir its just my request to u bcoz i fear ssc takes negative actions to those who appeal such request to them.

OBC CATEGORY Ma 307 tax assistant ka koi chance hai,sir
andaman mae tomil he jayega…..
381 (T1+T2) in gen cat..any chance for intrvw post??
hi frnds
my score is 384..this was my first and last attempt of ssccgl as i am in gen cat(age limit 27 yrs)..i really think that the age limit for cgl should be increased to 30 yrs as its a graduate level exam like civil services..many candidates like me are not able to give more than 1 or 2 attempts as most of them study till the age of around 25 yrs and after that start preparing for competitive exams..i have failed to understand the logic behind the set age limit of 18-27 yrs for cgl as i dont think in the indian education system you can complete your graduation before 20 yrs and on the other hand the upper limit of 27 yrs seems too low..i request you all to give your inputs on this matter so that if required the issue can be brought to the notice of ssc and other concerned authorities
completely agree with you
your are nothing but a fucker choda. after completing your graduation the time you are getting for the preparation is enough, if you are diligent enough in you work, then obviously this time period is enough otherwise, fucker choda like you time period is to short. and the GODFATHER who put his consent with you is another fucker choda.
my score is 340..general.is i getting tax assistant post?

awesome:-)
Hahahaha.. awesome blossom.
Please send this to the judiciary..
And unhe bolo ki itni tareekh ki jagah kuch dena h tou bus dedo ek NAUKRI milne ki tareekh..!!
lolzz… :D
Fun apart, dont expect the result for next couple of months :P …. The date is not for pronouncement of judgement rather next “hearing”. I don’t think they will allow results/interviews before judgement. In any case, no hope before 14th Feb….
Second thing, some guys are claiming 400 cut off, yes that may be true but do pay attention that 400 cut off would be with interview score not just cumulative of objectives :) …
yes!!!! totally agree cutoff will be below 400(t1+t2)…approx above 370-390 for ip(i.e greater than 60% of total marks)
my guess – 360-370 general cutoff for interview ? what say.. Last year it was 333 smthng… So I dont think it will increase by more than 30-40 in any case..
* not increase by >30-40 marks in any case…..
Bhanu, nice name… But it sounds more “virile” with surnames like Pratap or the likes… Bhaskar is a “cute” surname. I had a friend from Patna who shares that surname.. He was quite frail but really audacious in spirit. I remember hearing about him standing on table and catching hold of a 6 foot tall guy’s collar(he was like 4’8″)… quite intelligent too…
Really!! 333? My goodness :@ … I am getting about 405.. Dont think will get Delhi now :( .. This has been a horrible year for me. Bcos of SSC I hurt my chances in CS. In all that mix up I didnt give proper attention to either.. Could have easily scored 470 or so, actually should have…
Lets see how “lucky” I am in the mains, both CS and CGL, :P ….
So what about you??
Now I realize its not just intelligence that gets tested in CS papers but also temperament. Bloody hell, 1.5 years process is way way too much harrowing.. Had our legal system been any better, I would have sued SSC and UPSC for harassment…… Soon my friends who took up campus offers will join higher management, are enjoying their “trips” abroad while I am languishing here, all alone :( … How do you cope with all this??
Had any one told me about these, I would have simply refused to prepare for CS to my parents. To hell with the respect and career prospects, is it really worth it?? I’ll be easily 28 by the time I settle down(complete probation), my whole youth behind me :( …. When do I enjoy life??? Like Jean Paul said it, we are “condemned” to live and choose!!
I had to use dictionary for the quoted words.. :D
Am not any frail and neither bhasker is my surname.. it’s my second name… ;)
I quit one of those campus offers turned job to opt to prepare for CS.. meanwhile being from engg background had given ssc.. expecting the same 410+-5/10 marks..
ohh dear…looking @the condition u have described above makes me wonder.. but you have to stand up to your decisions,.. right..?? good that you are open to strangers to help you out somewhat..
You can always enjoy life managing evrything.. manage breaks and enjoy what you enjoy most… ;) Life is a very typical topic to be frank.. Don’t get too deep ever giving a meaning to it.. :D
your patience so far would definitely fetch you rewards.. Anyhow you must be finding yourself a better person who has come a long way??
Keep your spirits high and enjoy as much as you can.. coz nothing is gonna change after you qualify.. just adding more responsibilities to your shoulder… and keep asking yourself the question,, Why did you ever opt for this ?? and if you have you should give it your best shot.. Mrunal is always with you.. ;) dnt find yourself alone,, :P
Meanwhile just a suggestion.. keep preparing for next yr also for CS/SSC or the interviews… You never know… :)
btw.. any tips for CS.. P or M.. which optional?
CS P – is a joke; Any “real” or worthy candidate can scarcely fail.
CS M – Thats totally another story. I dont think anyone can tell you about Mains. Checkout the GS paper, it varies like anything!! Not an easy task to predict their “trend”. But yes you can surmise on the premises. In their relentless pursuit of randomness, they ironically become predictable :P ….
My optional is Philosophy – Barely needs more than 25 days to prepare. Really easy subject once you get hold of the subject matter……
Well honestly I have a really over-protective mum sometimes borderline control-freak. If it were upto her, I would never leave the house. You have no clue what such “detention” can do to you!!
Great subject.. So u like to play with ppl’s psychologies.. :P..
i am opting 4 Sociology..
I have seen the papers.. Lengthy is only word i would use…
So you need to break out like Yeh Jawani hai Deewani’s Deepika.. :D Travel somewhere for a change..
I guess you are from maths background.. With the changed pattern it’s not a cakewalk for many and they are struggling coz of paper2. though i personally found paper 2 to be very doable..
You took coaching? 25 days for mains subject .. By god.. were you studying 20 hours/day or what?
Good Lord, Never in my life have I studied more than 18 hours a day(that too when I was “young” and “delinquent” – school days – for JEE, got only consolation there: Extended list)
If you want to clear CSM then study 6 hours a day but “study” in true sense, dont merely “read”, study; “educate” yourself. NO Coaching for me. Coaching help but they take away your “creativity”, your spirit. Its one thing to learn from mistakes and another to learn not to make the mistake. Like Edison said – I know a thousand ways not to make a light bulb. Also these coaching people have no “real” business behind your success, for when you do, they loose an “audience” for their “sham” teachers. I went to VajiRam and offered double fee when I get “selected” and no fee if I dont. Loosers didnt had the courage to take the wager, its bad for their “business”. They mostly advertise the selections from either “bought” category or from interview ones…
Actually Philo is quite simple, you just need to understand what the “Author” intends to convey. Whats more interesting (which will get irritating when you study) is almost everyone says the same thing but in a different light. Most of them are hypocrites, claiming to disprove or reject others but climax to the same conclusion albeit with different words.
Sociology is cool subject. Initially it was my choice with Chemistry before the pattern changed. I did read harlambos but then wasnt able to gather all the subject matter. Its really simple in Philo, read wiki and then Xerox notes from market, more than sufficient. Unless you take coaching Socio can give you jitters, at least for me. I made up my mind about Philo when I filled the DAF, still am “quite” satisfied with the attempt(1st).
My name is Neena Williams, gosh; apologies for later introduction but HEY you never asked for my name, dumb schmuck :P. hehehehe I am a “fake” Engg (CS) from “fake” institute (Indian Institute – MHRD tag :P). :D … If you ask me there should only be CHEMICAL, Mechanical, civil, electrical and such core branches. Even MIT keeps CS and electrical together for they dont deem CS to be an independent branch.
And since you been through campus placements, you know they actually dont hunt knowledge but mere aptitude and sharp learning curve. And generally “trophy” girls for office “decoration”. Arseholes….
I did attend 1 introductory class for Philo at Patanjali.. had a headache for like 3 days…
That arsehole, first told the definition on Philo, then baffled me when he dictated same and to ice it — “demanded” recitation of same like 5 times in class. I was like “ppfff what the hell, I am in Kindergarten??” In that 2 hour session, he barely covered what I did in 1st 5-10 mins of self-study. But then again, if they sum up in 20-25 days who will feel “satisfied” with the “bloated” fees they charge. This is exactly how they inflate the “education” period. Good for their “business”. Many a times they will share “personal” experiences to kill time, talk about cricket, stupid Dhoni and so on… Later I surveyed a few unsuccessful “alumni” who complained that he never bothered to read their answers and so on…
Not a fan of “Bollywood” masala movies. They are literally made for dumb “executives” or for rickshaw-pullers. Utter non-sense, complete bollocks.
1 Rajnikanth is enough and only he is cool enough to give those action scenes. He did do some good movies too like Andha Kanoon, I guess… I mostly watch Hollywood movies or Arabic/Korean Cinema.
Quite brief an introduction!! :D
btw Neena Williams seem to be a known name.. oh yes she was a fighter in video game tekken3 :D .. used to play in my childhood days.. :D
Even I am not in favor of coaching and all. Even after leaving job I decided to prepare by myself. :) and a long way to go… Thanks for your encouraging words… As someone rightly said “3E’s of CS Exams.. Extract, Examine and Express. ”
I know how fake CS branch is. I am an electrical engineer and served for two years in IT.. Won’t like to make the name public here. :P but it was fine. met new people, got some experience of the country’s diversity and diversity.. and that ‘“trophy” girls for office “decoration”’ was bang on target.. :D
Socio has been interesting till now and i find haralambos a great read.. It’s the same here with too many names(Authors) and there case studies.. Sometimes it gets too much a bore.. But looking @same thing from different perspectives is interesting..And tat too about the things so common in day to day social life..
“Bollywood” in my views makes some good masala and lots of DESIPAN in it.. Hollywood movies have their class and Bollywood has it’s own… Even some south movies are fantastic.. and Korean are all about ‘Emotions’.. :D You should give Bollywood a fair chance. there are many gems & must watch movies out there which i rate no less then Hollywood classics..
So you on vacation mode.. All exams over waiting for results.. :) Do mention an id next time.. Would like to have some contacts in the service..;)
ID: ureachedneena@gmail.com
Vacation mode – Not exactly, actually really bored, dont even want to lift a finger. But yes sometimes feel like running away, maybe Tibet or Bhutan. How much money does one need to “live” “happily”, people here are struggling to survive in a futile race to become “richer”, the more they earn the more poor they feel.
I believe in virtues and Bollywood has abject lack in this domain. Even your favorite movies are either “translations” or “modifications”, dont even get me started on songs. They only learnt one thing from Hollywood and that is “objectification” and sexualization, arseholes. So much so, remember “Chak de India”, watch “The Miracle”.. List is endless….
Feliz Navidad
For once i was like seriously patanjali…???? As if Patanjali haridwar(Baba Ramdev) coaching people in indian philosophy or something… :D Googled it to find out it’s a coaching based @delhi( not that aware of coachings. except vajiram n sriram).. :) Google is the best friend of a man.. ;)
Indeed a nice discussion kudos to both Neena and BB…..it was like reading a toppers interview :P
Really nice of you say that :)
But still a bit too much flattering :D ..
Best Wishes & Feliz Navidad
Feliz Navidad, próspero año y felicidad
btw Jeet you went thru all the comments?? :D what to say.. add anything we missed out there… ;)
btw Neena where do u find virtues in Hollywood movies..?? :P
Revise “Anand” once if you have time.. One doesn’t need any money to “live” “happily”!!
You can’t give someone a practical tip who is looking for a perfect world.. 8) ;)
– BB
Virtues — Well they got them in plenty!!!
Japanese are best when it comes to these qualities. You should really read their “surrender” speech after WW2, its really “inspiring”. Unlike Germany they make movies WW2 movies, illustrates their spirit.
Well according to me, India is lagging behind in virtues, “intelligence” and “common-sense” primarily due to lack of “proper” entertainment. But can you blame them? Who takes to entertainment industry – well mostly “losers” who failed to become Engg, Medicos or Corporates.
Dont concur with me? Watch Practice, hell watch even Franklin & Josh or Boston Legal – You’ll learn so much about “realities” of judicial system.
I challenge you to watch “Star Trek” and point out Scientific “Blunders” in that series. There are too many improbables but no major errors! Even for a sitcom they keep Physicists on payroll to make “smart” jokes – Big Bang Theory. Isnt this a virtue worth appreciating? They want to give as much accurate “joke” as possible!! This sense of responsibility is not present in Indian cinema. They show whatever they like, be it Sheela ji jawani or some other raunchy material.
Then watch Indian versions- Adaalat.. Dang it, Screw Them!! They are more of pathetic “jasoos” stories than real court room drama. Have you ever heard a real argument?
As a result people have no clue about what to expect from their lawyers, some judges even retort about such poor status but dont take action for lack of promotion prospects if you get on “wrong” side of the bar.
What really baffled me was the “defense” put up in Nirbhaya case — Arsehole was arguing – God has given them life, only God has the authority to take it too… Are you kidding me? Is he like 5th Grader? Even a school boy would have put up better arguments!! (what I really wanted to do was cut off his tongue and tell him to start praying for maybe “God” will punish me and grant him another tongue) And he called himself advocate, loser.
Honestly, why do Americans fear jailterm? well they get “violated” by bullies there! Is it so in India, most probably; do they “advertise” this as a deterrent? NO!! What they tell is that, in jail you can enjoy a “lavish” life given you can pay them…. Moreso, you have a more “equitable” chance of survival there in jail as compared to this “free” world. Well in this scenario, who wouldnt wanna be in jail, especially if one is struggling to keep her tummy full.
This is precisely why I hate Indian Entertainment, be it TV or Movies. All they want is MONEY and thats all, no sense of accountability or responsibility. Hell, its because of these schmucks that people delude themselves that “justice” can be “demanded” on streets!! There were a lot of women demanding that perpetrators be handed over to them for they would teach them a lesson. Really?? Can you really “kill” someone that easily? Forget the mob, can an individual non-sick “man” kill another man? Its fine if someone from the family seeks revenge for an individual doesnt has “collective” accountability. But as a society we are “obliged” to act better and not as “savages” as Britishers once described us!
If you really want people to act as civilized individuals, you have to dramatically improve your entertainment industry!
Ohh my my…. So much frustration about everything.. Try looking @things from optimistic point of view… We have come far and still a long way to go.. :)
You are highlighting the bright side of the outside world and comparing with our worst side?? Just look @the ppl you are defending and for what deeds.. Regarding their speech part that must be due to the twin tragedies they faced due to Uncle Sam bossiness.. You can’t just depend on entertainment for shaping the society? Do you? Try listen to speeches of Vivekananda, JL Nehru, Ambedkar, Sardar Patel, AB Vajpayee or anyone you appreciate in place of boasting about Japan et al..
Big Bang Theory, Practice you mentioned but the same produce many other “entertaining” serials which could not make it up to your list?Watch indian version “Satyamev Jayte”, “Crime petrol”, even “Ravish ki Report” “Pradhanmantri”(i don’t watch much tv).. ;)
Judicial system has lacunae and poor is suffering, no doubt about it. But that cannot justify capital punishment. People have there reservation of opinions. You are right asking hanging all 6 of them after castrating but I advocate for reformative and not retributive judiciary.. Macaulay wasn’t wrong in arguing that if you keep the punishment same for a murder /rape. Why won’t the person hesitate in killing the girl? Are you able to control murders ? How could you say it would be effective in controlling some unstable lunatics from committing any such heinous crimes? Moreover, setting the rarest of rare criteria has mixed up things more… Even after 5 death statements awarded rape still happen? No lessons learnt by anyone or what???
Indians are having their societal problems and cannot be compared with any country in the world. Laws let the rich enjoy and poor suffer. But you are behaving like AAP during it’s starting days.. Change the world in 1 day and now they are getting what being part of a system is..
No point on your American Jail term point.. looks like you have some misconception about it(The United States Has More People In Jail Than High School Teachers And Engineers).. :D Even a housemaid in US gets more than our diplomat serving there.. That’s completely different story Neena!! You can expect the rights enjoyed by prisoners.. Its US!!
Indian Entertainment Industry is on it’s way.. And we are able to see ppl coming up with wonderful concepts trying and experimenting.. But as any other business runs for PROFIT they have to keep some masala too. You have your expectations from entertainment which it cannot come true to.. But you have your taste and people have theirs’.. Can’t expect all to be the same.. We aint any robots..
As I already said “You can’t give someone a practical tip who is looking for a perfect world”.. Stop ranting and take rest Neena. :D Enjoy Christmas eve.. Enjoy the Journey UPSC. :D
PS- Views are totally personal.. I am no good @writing very long paras but tried point to point rebuttal.. :D No more frustration. plzzzzzzzzzzzzz… if you have so many issues.. try changing them as far as you can…Constructively participate and appreciate who we are.. :) No offense meant.
I am not “frustrated”, maybe a bit disappointed or borderline depressed. Apologies if I rubbed that dirt onto my writing too.
Have you heard about “Betty Williams”??
You should read more carefully, I never stated that Japanese or American culture is better than Indian culture but merely contorted ours to bring out the disappointing status. I dont think you are acquainted with post war struggle in Japan or understand the developments either. Loss of war with japan precipitated Russian Revolution but on the contrary in Japan, Emperor never became obsolete, nor lost any “loyalty”. Those “TWO” incidents didnt break their spirits, they were prepared to fight till the last “child” was standing. America was “forced” to drop the bombs because they faced struggle from students – children – who willingly came to war fronts armed with “Knifes” and “sticks”. Even their army wasnt prepared for such a sick-annihilation.
The Vietnam War was a repeat of this situation for them where, unfortunately, they didnt have a premise for nuclear bombing. America summarily “surrendered” here, after failing to “defeat” their spirit. They used “every” dirty trick in the book!!!!
On the other hand – Indian attitude is — “Sab chalta hai”. “Hota hai to hone do”. “Mujhey kya”!!!!! I wanted to highlight this…. This is primarily because the “masala” propagates the selfish culture, irresponsible attitude. Democracy is supposed to “educate” people but here “learned” people dont vote!!! This is the reason I dont patronize Indian cinema. I am not expressing any frustration but mere disgust I have in mind for these vermin.
I never argued about morality of capital punishment. On the contrary I merely blistered the professional incompetence of defense council for the 6 convicts, I expressed my discontent over the arguments presented by that rat. No matter what, they deserved a fair trial, end is not more important than means – it sets wrong precedent.
Russia was all under “Socialist Movement”, people had their loyalty to a different purpose than authoritarian rule.. How can one compare those? I read it clear and mentioned that you are comparing others’ bright side with our worst one.. You could have discussed Indian national movement and post-independence circumstances but you prefer Japan there.. Under a war like situation against a common enemy the ppl would always unite(even militant groups are able to unite ppl and are expert @brainwashing for the calling). Do you think fighting till last one standing for an unjust cause is very brave-heart and patriotic? These wars should never have spread @such levels at the first place had countries looked for just and flexibile…
Flexibility is one of the strengths of Indians. Non-Alignment movement has given the flexibility to countries to take diplomatic decisions as per their stand and not for the sake of association with some block or stubborn ideology(You mentioned Vietnam, India’s role there?? Wat say?).. That culture of “let everything be until it comes to me” can’t be simply blamed on Entertainment at all… There is difference in individuals, their place in society in terms of powers and they have limitation in what they can offer to the country. Patriotism can’t be measured over a scale of flexibility ppl have..
The movements have failed in this country coz democracy is taken for granted. Education has failed, policies have failed, bureaucracy has failed and Polity has failed :x(if that’s how you like to see the achievements of the country).. But we are still one of the most looked upon country by many as an example they wish to follow.. Their is no alternative to ppl’s voice and choice.. Democracy in India is still flourishing and as I say a long way to go… :) Social changes don’t happen in 1 day, and people who are so disgusted are bound to leave the country as most professionals and intellectuals opt to do.. If you are going to add to that list, my best wishes 4 your personal successes.. :) I hate that professional culture with so much flattering and lies that people try to wear masks over masks.. And the best part is people never realize their flexibility is being exploited in the name of professionalism.. :D There are some excellent examples of people working for the improvement in the system. The civil society is well aware of these things but they can’t just be disgusted over their failures.
Regarding that argument thing I don’t think that was the only argument he made. He was @defence of a heinous crime & he was bound to bring God there in the argument in a country like India where ppl still have their strong beliefs in the almighty!
Let entertainment entertain and water out frustration.. I am tired arguing now.. I quit.. :D You won.. (See my flexibility ;) ) That should bring a smile… Keep smiling…
Spare me your Generous Charity!! Winning an argument over an abdicating opponent is not my dream. Its actually more repugnant.
What it seems is that you haven’t heard/read/studied about Japanese culture. The kind of struggle they endured is awe-inspiring. What really fascinates me is their perception and how they accepted “destiny”. Indians made hue-cry and then submitted to state charity for upliftment. Germany denied anything to do with the wars blaming Hitler for the unfortunate destruction. They never claimed the scientific gains from his exploits which was later “stolen” by the Americans. Japanese, even after tragedies gathered their spirit and imbibed “competition” rather than being sultry about it.
I was discussing this issue with my friend, upper castes are being “punished” for what they did for past 2000 years. Now my driver is your Brahmin, branded upper caste, but what paltry amount he earns can barely compare my pocket money. He has to educate his children, nourish his family and sustain them in that salary. This poor guy actually deserves some “protection” than a child of your SC/ST parent who is himself a high level officer – like my neighbor. What you say that his ancestors enjoyed a “great” life so he deserves to be a destitute. I seriously dont reconcile with this kind of culture. EWS need far more protection than is granted. The ceiling should be set at around say 5-6 Lac.
The problem is that you all prefer to make some ground rules and then abide by them blindly. There are no generic medicines for our diseases, there should be flexible ones. 10K a month maybe good in rural areas but they are paltry in cities like Delhi or Mumbai.
If you really want a generic solution – I would say State should take away the children from parents when they are 3, conclude their primary education in Gurukul fashioned schools and then put them on adoption to “responsible” or “able” parents. At least it might solve the menace of beggars and laborers “over-producing” children like they are some commodities, killing poor mothers. On one hand you dole out Food-Security, on the other you let it erode through family explosion! You talk about the rights of parents for parenthood but what about the fundamental HUMAN Rights of the poor Baby. Should they be allowed to be used as “cards” for begging? Shouldnt state at least take such kids away from these “filthy” and “sick” people. Begging is a menace on the very least. Where is the Morality of the society? Why do you allow beggars to “produce”?
In Japan, state accepts the responsibility of the unwanted children, for diametrically, I accept, opposite reasons. Unlike India they have the need and resources for such charity. But citing the charity this country does, the cause of this strata cannot be uncalled for!!!
Neena just look at what you are comparing .. 1:10 in terms of area as well population… you can keep boasting about Japanese culture and all and undermining Indian culture.. And I can keep pointing out the brighter Indian side… but its futile if you don’t get the difference.. We are 1/6th of the world people goddammit and we are developing for now. it’s just been 66 years of freedom.. Just compare the composition in terms of ethnic groups you might understand our problems are way different than Japan has ever had..
Do you know about socialization of a child? Are you saying we should create state-managed robots and not humans? I don’t know how you find arguing but one reading your arguments with those “highlighted” words would definitely be disappointed and more so frustrated to be frank..
The stratification of society and relative impoverishment is a phenomenon of any other society.. What we are still fighting is absolute poverty.. There are several lacunae out there and you aint helping any good cause by just picturing a “slum dog millionaire” angle to Indian society..
I am least interested in Japanese culture and I think you should take a break too… Else go on.. apply for Japanese citizenship now.. :P
I totally appreciate Japan’s achievements being only imperialistic and not a slave country of Asia and even a superpower in today’s world.. but it had it’s advantages.. had imperialism been a part of 21st century technology japan would have been also in the slave list.. I have read about it only as much is required from world history point of view.. And that’s enough of it.. Why India is not able to fare good results is a different story.. Have you ever heard maintenance cost exceeding installment cost? that’s applied to us.. Feeding 1/6th of the population with so limited resources is a problem in itself.. To make them come out of the present condition to live a life of dignity and prosper would require steps from concerned persons like you.. There are plenty of resources available for us, what’s needed is utilization..
Wish you could ever think from the “psychological” perspective of the “poor” you have so dramatically mentioned in your words there… get out of the books and get some practical idea of the society out there and in place of ranting here help someone in this cold… Stop breaking the keyboard and get some real life exp.. 10000pm is not a joke..!! Ask someone who is very willing but struggling to even pay for the basic requirements for the aim you are pursuing..!!
More Arguments? Choice is yours!! I am outta this discussion.. Not giving up but fed up!
PS- btw thank you.. you made me realize i could brush-up my writing skills and write an 200words answer if i am rebutting something.. will try use this angle whenever in need of words.. 8)..
Gosh, you are an annoying broken record!!
A) The art of debating or arguing is not about putting forward an opposing statement but making the “opponent” sing along.
B) Europeans did try to “colonize” Japan but failed. Read your lessons again. Japan defied British when it recanted on a treaty with them.
C) Using quotations “” doesn’t mean highlighting but either being sarcastic or using the words in broader sense. Like when I said “sick” in last post, it meant the sick mentality of using innocent babies for begging. Oh dear God, you have so much learn!!! You talk about rebuttal when you dont even argue about the morality of allowing babies being used by beggars! Make up preposterous statements about turning children into robots, which was actually a formerly accepted and well celebrated, “successful”, system. You accept current system whereby students are passed in “batches” like products from a factory. Children arent allowed to “innovate” or showcase creativity, experimentation with curriculum. Yeah, Gurukul would have made “superior” robots with flexible curriculum.
You talk about Indian “ideology” and “culture” but fail to accept the same. Such a hypocrite……
D) Yes, If I do continue this argument, you’ll bore me to death :P
same 2 u..(annoying broken record)
A)I just had a glance.. dint bother to read the whole story there.. ;) If you have read the reply you should be able to see it was a half reply where half items were either ignored or not been read..
B) You are obsessed with Japan.. Go ahead and do it.. :P
C) Check your basics.. Why do imperialistic powers spread? There was absolutely no reason to invade Japan at all.. It’s existence was immaterial for any country… Even then, Japan was forced open to the West thanks to America’s gunboat policy..Western powers saw Japan as a perfect refueling station on the way to China..
D) Now I read this Gurukul point? What’s the point in it? Y stressing so much? Indian ideology and culture doesn’t just mean sending your child to Gurukul.. If you are going that back then revive Sati, Caste, Untouchability etc everything? Lets build a new society from ground zero..?? The only things those Gurukul(which were for upper sections of the society) fed Kids with was that brahman is superior to one and all.. some books are precious then your life etc.. What’s the point in it? At least the students now have all the freedom.. some of them decide to do something and there they are processed as batches with the required curriculum for the course… What’s wrong with it?.. It’s wrong with those ppl who are always confused about what to do in life.. they only can say so.. otherwise opportunities in today’s world are infinite(be it innovations, experimentation or whatever).. btw still these kinda gurukuls exist.. take admission in any of them in haridwar(shanti kunj, dev sanskriti vishwavidyalaya, patanjal, TM institutes) or anywhere you wish.. Find your peace..!! :D
Science has replaced many myths about various religious beliefs.. and even it has failed to answer some questions.. so you see that gap has to be filled with positive energy and not all the crap in the world..!!
E) Do you think that any parent in this world would send their kids to beg around? C’mon.. I have seen many illiterate parents who themselves suffer for lifetime with the only aim of educating their kids.. in fact they value education more then most ppl who take them for granted.. There are cases when kidnapped children are made to beg..? You imagine a household running over the day’s earning of a beggar.. But that can also be a mentality developed by parent as easiest way to earn or they find themselves good for nothing.. you need to boost their confidence(first boost yours :P).. Homeless, beggars are not only associated with our country.. it’s a part of a big picture and a subject of sociological research.. Poverty is the worst crime!! There is absolutely no morality there? What do you expect me to do about it?
F) Any argument is lame if you wish to ignore it.
G) Using quotes is “highlighting” !! They make a specific word spark among other dull ones !!
H) I have just started and thank god I am not learning the way you have.. ;)
I) If you like you can reply till “Z” next time..! now please excuse me… :P hope u are still alive..!! :D
no BB you didn’t missed anything…:P,….it was like, even i was excited and want to be in contact..so i sent an email to NEENA …I would like to send you as well but no info..:{(
and neena on a serious note it was not flattering….:D
Jeet I was expecting you to add something to it.. ;) btw you preparing for 2014 or waiting for 2013?
wowww again one more WORD WAR…:p..this time it was on movie, though it was out of topic or blog but was an delight to read that..this time I agree with BB that Indian cinema has traveled a long journey n still its getting better day by day few example are MADRAS CAFE,bhaag milkha etc.
but liked your writing part….i mean dude !! how much time does it take to write like this.
looking further to see more of your comments and discussions NEENA,BB and meetu as well…:)
Regards
I have given cgl 2013 but as per the current scenario am eligible candidate for 2014 also…:P
We all depend on CGL14 only now… (wasn’t getting any of the fav posts on the basis of performance this yr :D)
Wish you good luck 4 both… Next yr we shall need 500/600 for sure ;)
Cheers..
…..the menace of beggars and laborers “over-producing” children like they are some commodities, killing poor mothers…… Why do you allow beggars to “produce”?……..
Those are some of the most ignorant, obnoxious and arrogant words I heard from an educated person. Neena, you have wide knowledge but it has only served to narrow down your outlook, which someone else also pointed out earlier.
You have expressed your prejudices very clearly by treating “them” as a (social and psychological) class apart. You are one of those(Hitler) who would propose to exterminate all the filthy and sick populations from this planet so as to make it a better world.
I know what I say and what they can mean. You very well know what I point out and what I don’t.
Of all the preposterous assumptions of humanity over humanity, nothing exceeds most of the criticisms made on the habits of the poor by the well-housed, well-warmed, and well-fed. —– Herman Melville (wrote around 1860)
So kindly Don’t stretch my expressions.
You are talking about the right of every human to parenthood but not that of the baby who will get born. Debate that for Christ’s sake!!
What you say is Ad Hominem fallacy. Instead of stripping my argument you are stripping my character. Where does that get you?
Firstly, I have not distinguished your character from your arguments because they are related here. We weren’t talking about mathematics vs religion per se.
Secondly, if my argument did undermine yours, how can it be a fallacy?
As much as I detest your rebuke of “the right of the poor to procreate”, I appreciate your concern for the baby who enters this world to destitute parents, for the baby is condemned to a life of misery and hardships. I also want to tell you that the urge to have more offsprings among the lower classes of society is not just so that they have hands for work, but mainly because the society is unkind to these lower rungs. The more secure their child’s future is, the lesser children they will have. Expand your perspective to include social and psychological factors.
@Neha
Now you are a hypocrite!
You suggest that poor people are like “dogs” or “turtles”, if you know the cycle. They make more because some will die! Isnt that a more sickening and morbid argument than mine? At least I spared them the dignity of being humans.
Actually more hands to work theory has been statistically and through economics proven to be a bit successful. Hope you read about that. But the thing is its a vicious cycle. Its like taking short term loans to feed the mouths. A couple creates some, it helps, initially, the couple augment their income. But they underfeed children, ill-educate them about world and prospects for them and before you know the children cast them out. Puts them back in the same situation and now you have some more adults following in the same treads.
Lastly, these are qualitative arguments, I fail to comprehend how one can trump the other. How does one compare compassion with pity. There are no rights or wrongs, just pure ideologies.
As far as my “character” assassination is under question then you would also agree that an “Escort” can never be “raped” or “abused”. That is an occupational hazard. Is that so, Ms. Neha?
So to you, if a “thief” or “gangster” or “terrorist” is the lone eye witness for a murder then the accused should be set free because you can’t rely on their testimonies!!
Calm down Neena!!
You can only get a theoretical solution to this question. I dint read that particular comment. Now it’s clear..
No child chooses his household!! You can’t deny either(parent, child) of them any rights. But you can’t help this by just arguing. The main obstacle to the eradication of poverty is not the behaviour of the poor but the self-interest of the rich.
Now you tell your Japan story.. How do they manage this… :P
I get your child alienation and Gurukul proposals. I think they are idealistic and impractical, unnecessarily disruptive of cultural and religious practices.
You are well read and educated, yet you have such strong opinions on certain issues which are detestable by the society at large. Giving you the power to affect the society and more so the marginalised, hell no! but I can only pray that it doesn’t happen. Not for this kind of Neena.
Regarding your character assassination, please tell me if and how I was wrong?
I don’t understand the occupational hazard of an Escort part. For the other hypothetical case, how can the accused be set free when there is a witness to testify? How do the past antecedents of witness affect the case at hand?
Neena, you’re worried that you’ll be 28 by the time you complete probation. That’s overthinking methinks. Actually you’ll be one of the lucky few who get to complete probation and settle down before they reach the 30 threshold. And fyi life doesnt end at 28. you actually get to enjoy life more after 27. So stop whining and ranting about the harrowingly long process and start prepping for the interview or the next exam. Atleast your energies would then be focussed in the right direction.
I totally agree with your Kind words. First I need to salvage then be analytic.
God knows if life ends or not at 28 but my experience spells that “real” life is between 14-25. Our brain, our intellect, our creativity peaks at 23 and then degenerates from there. You would have heard of the “27 club”, these are some of the “greats” who kind of agree with this concept, some understanding of evolution & devolution of artistic mind is essential here.
To put an aggressive defense, there are a gazillion things you would age inappropriate at 28!
Anyways , I am grateful to you for acting as the “constant” for me, for directing me back to the right path.
Hope to repay this service someday :)
Regards and Best wishes :)
A man thinks that by mouthing hard words he understands hard things.
Herman Melville
Just the fact that you are bringing up the ’27 club’ here is incredibly shocking to me! Really girl, this is not the kind of talk one expects to hear from a twenty-something. If upsc has driven you to this point then maybe you should give it a break and enjoy life to see how beautiful it is. What you’ve heard or come to know about 14-25 being real life is all pure crap and not gospel truth as you seem to think. If that is the case, then no one above 25 would achieve anything or for that matter even take an interest in living life. But is that the case? Look around and you’ll find the answer.
You have either read widely or watched far too many (disturbing) movies I guess. I can sense a wider world-view in your words but all your reading and knowledge has only served to narrow down your outlook towards life itself which is really sad. I guess you’re 23-24 now and trust me there is lot to life than you seem to think. Please rid yourself of such morbid thoughts and engage in some refreshing and mind-uncluttering exercises like meditation, etc. Exams are not life and don’t equate life with something so trivial. Take everything in your stride either success or failure and develop a positive outlook towards life. All the best.
Pfff… URgghhh….
Why do you think I am homicidal? I am not suicidal or homicidal or anything like that. I just mentioned the club to substantiate my views. Apparently you dont understand that part yet. Music is actually very fascinating, especially the stories attached to it. Say the “curse of 9” or “Robert Johnson”, they are a good read.
I do not look upto these artists, I idolize Aristotle. That guy had some patience on him. He waited till being 37 before starting his school!!! 37 is way too :old: if you use the ancient standards and life-expectancy. How many humans actually walked after being 40??
Honestly I “wish” to join the Tibetian monk club, but I wont look good “bald”. Enjoy some peace.
Are my thoughts clouded – Yes. But I am more or less looking for something to inspire me. To light the spark once again. For the record, I am 25.
on a different note – can we exchange a few mails? Are you preparing for CS? Did you give mains this year?
There are some persons in this world, who, unable to give better proof of being wise, take a strange delight in showing what they think they have sagaciously read in mankind by uncharitable suspicions of them.
Herman Melville
What are you, like 5?
Since when did this become a “quote” competition?
Take a deep breath and tell why are predisposed notions being hurled at me? Unlike you at least I accept both sides of the coin.
How can one deny evil without understanding evil in the first place!
And when you use “quotes”, it just tells you are at loss of arguments, words and Ideology.
I dont find a single argument that defends Premise or center argument! Just “empty” quotes. More Ad hominem fallacy, basically “googled” knowledge which is ironical since I was being accused of not possessing hardheaded intelligence!

Since you people are so “know it all” or omniscient, Help me out with the following case study. It reflects the popular dogma that Police are highly incompetent and never come on time.
You are the SP. A grievous case of a serial killer(say 40 dead bodies found buried) gets unraveled in your area. There is enormous media, raging political and blistering bureaucratic pressure on you now. When you visit the crime scene and canvas the victims, they report that “once a neighbor did complaint about a loud noise but the beat constable never investigated the matter”
Now the evidence suggests the noise was a violent scream of, say, 1st victim he iced, which the neighbor did suggest- that he might have murdered someone or something there. The same got leaked into the media and now they demand explanation as to why the monster wasnt stopped in his tread.
The constable claims he visited the scene 3 days later(which the coroner puts about the time of death for 2nd Victim) when the killer answered the door and made some excuse. Everybody claims, Had the constable been more vigilant and “entered” the house, he would have caught the mongrel in action.
What action would you take against this constable?

400 se 1 no bi kam chali jaye cut off to bolna…370 ka time gaya…paper was dam easy… even pre added 15 marks to last years cut off…
@nav.. Pre it was 89 i guess(don’t remember exactly but it was b/w 85-90) last tine this time it was 96 for general category.. => +7 only..
For mains I remember it was 333 smthng(tier1+2) last year.. So even if you consider paper very easy & add 40 to tier2.. and 7 from prelims.. it comes 380… there could be the factor of more engg graduates opting 4 the exam this year then ever.. So it can even go well above 400 as well..
Lets see how it goes.. Lets hope it remains low so that more could qualify.. :)
@BB…LAST YEARS TIER 1 CUT OFF WAS 82..AND THIS YEARS 96..MEANS +14…now according to u..40+14=54…last years cut off was 349 for general…means 403 this time minimum…it may cross 410 …
yes you are right with the facts.. just checked, was feeling lazy.. :D 333 was for Statistical Investigator/Compiler..
Bhai log how to improve English ..
I really don’t know how to write impressive English like that was used by above posters i .e. neha, neena, meetu, xyz
