ACIO written exam was conducted in 15 September 2013. Result was declared few days back, but in case some of the players are still unaware:

Around ~3900 candidates shortlisted for ~750 final vacancies. Meaning interview post to candidate ratio is slightly higher than 1:5. In most exams it is 1:3)

Interviews will commence from January 13 to January 25, 2013. That means less time for celebration and more time for interview preparation.
What to prepare for interview?

Some tips (from those comments)
- 60% on your biodata. (Why do you want to join IB? Educational background, terminology, hobbies)
- 30% on current issue (mostly national and regional. + some current related to neighboring countries from IB/security/terrorism angle.)
- 10% intelligence system of India.
- If you are not fluent in English practice it, as sometimes panel member may insist that you answer a particular question in english.
- For some people it was for 5 mins and for some it went upto 20 mins.
- In the panel, one member will be observing you and taking notes.

Documents to bring in interview
- Original certificates in support of age, educational
- qualifications (Matriculation onwards including mark sheets), other qualifications along with an attested photocopy of each of the documents;
- Original certificate in support of belonging to
- OBC/SC/ST/Ex-serviceman/J&K resident category issued from the competent authority in the prescribed proforma along with an attested photocopy thereof;
- Original certificates in support of claimed achievements in Sports/Games and other extracurricular activities along with an attested photocopy of each of the documents.
- A photo identity proof like voter ID card, PAN card, passport, driving license or any other valid proof to verify his/her identity.
- Candidates belonging to OBC category and claiming benefits thereunder must bring their OBC certificate in the proforma meant for appointment to the posts under Government of India as published in the advertisement (copy enclosed) and not for State Government jobs. If they fail to do so, they will not be allowed to appear in the interview. Certificate in any other proforma will not be accepted in any case.
- One copy each of Attestation Forms (A.F.) and Special Security Questionnaire (SSQ) may also be downloaded which are required to be filled in by the candidate for carrying out Character & Antecedents verification wherever required. These forms may please be filled in for all the columns correctly and completely and in case the space provided in any of the column is not sufficient for furnishing the information sought, the candidate can utilize an extra sheet. This is, however, made clear that issuance and filling up of the attestation form (AF) and SSQ at this stage does not mean that the candidate has been or would be necessarily selected to the post of ACIO-II/Exe. The duly filled in AF and SSQ forms are required to be deposited by the candidate on the day of interview.
- The candidate is advised to bring this interview letter without which he/she would not be allowed entry. It may be made clear that no request for change of date and place would be entertained.

@FighterClass – Never mind..hope they publish the results soon.By the way I too appeared for the DFO exam conducted by CabSec.According to answer keys I was scoring 139/200 but nobody tried to contact me for any sort of verification.Was my marks too bad for the post of DFO?

All of us are in dark about this issue.Can’t understand what is going on in IB..when we contact them they don’t even tell that whether the verifications are going on or not!!

one of my friend told me that he got call from IB on 12th feb…..May b he is lying…but it seems this is true….selected candidates are being called directly…..

well if it has happened in the case of SSC Cabinet sec (RAW)………then it might also happen in the case of IB…..
curiously enough i received a call from IB few weeks ago i dnt remember exactly but around 27-28jan’14. first it was some lady (i guess she was receptionist or steno or..) who couldn’t understand me, and then some gentleman (he must’ve been a senior officer or smthng, the way he talked). they wanted to clarify as to when did i exactly complete my graduation. i remember i had clearly mentioned it in those AF and SSQ forms somewhere and i had submitted my degree certificate along with other documents on my interview date(15 jan at bapu dham,new delhi), which i was required to do. i clarified all this to him over the phone. nonetheless, some confusion remained so he asked me if i could go to bapu dham and resubmit my document copies at the earliest. obviously i agreed and went there the next day. i wanted to personally meet and clarify everything verbally to the concerned person/dept. but sadly enough i wasn’t allowed to enter the premises despite several requests. at the enquiry/reception window i met the most annoying, uncooperative, typical sarkari fat b*****d chap. he must be late 40s or 50s sitting in a solitary cabin. anyway….all i could do was write an application explaining whatever i could and enclosing my documents. i gave this envelope to that SOB. i dnt know what he did with that.
i didn’t know what to make of all this but i was certain result will be out soon….but. sadly enough while addressing the envelope to asst director, exam cell, in hurry, i had misspelt the word assistant as assisstant. i am afraid it would create a negative impression on him if he were to notice that. their whole process is so opaque you can never be sure.

Pinky..please don’t get confuse. When I gave the interview they said, those who don’t submit all require document should submit before 10 days after interview, that’s why they got called from IB. Besides those who get verification about their appointment are those students who are in waiting list last year. Hope you understand what I’ve said. Don’t worry everyone is waiting for the result.

Guys its officially confirmed.I called MHA..they told me that the verification process for 2013 ‘has not begun’ yet.When I asked if the same is going on for 2012 candidates he said ‘May be’.The sad part is when I asked about the result he just said ‘Aa jaega’.

guys..sorry I could have commented earlier but no time… after my interview, I asked an officer and a staff there… they said may take anywhere between 1 and half months to 3 months for declaration of result… anyway fingers crossed…best wishes to all
also the officer said that the final result would depend on – (score in test+score in interview) which ever is more than the other would be considered for the final ranking as the major score and would be considered for selection in the final result…..
I have updated the info as it is as said by the officer on that day… hope the above would be helpful in anyway possible… if not, please forgive me…..
@abc- The persons who were involved in verification of documents at time of interview are not officers. They were clerks working in dept. They dont know anything about recruitment process.If anyone of them was giving such information – it directly means he only wants to show himself as a officer . Only helpline no can give us authentic news about result.
