What to prepare for interview?

Some tips (from those comments)
- 60% on your biodata. (Why do you want to join IB? Educational background, terminology, hobbies)
- 30% on current issue (mostly national and regional. + some current related to neighboring countries from IB/security/terrorism angle.)
- 10% intelligence system of India.
- If you are not fluent in English practice it, as sometimes panel member may insist that you answer a particular question in english.
- For some people it was for 5 mins and for some it went upto 20 mins.
- In the panel, one member will be observing you and taking notes.

Documents to bring in interview
- Original certificates in support of age, educational
- qualifications (Matriculation onwards including mark sheets), other qualifications along with an attested photocopy of each of the documents;
- Original certificate in support of belonging to
- OBC/SC/ST/Ex-serviceman/J&K resident category issued from the competent authority in the prescribed proforma along with an attested photocopy thereof;
- Original certificates in support of claimed achievements in Sports/Games and other extracurricular activities along with an attested photocopy of each of the documents.
- A photo identity proof like voter ID card, PAN card, passport, driving license or any other valid proof to verify his/her identity.
- Candidates belonging to OBC category and claiming benefits thereunder must bring their OBC certificate in the proforma meant for appointment to the posts under Government of India as published in the advertisement (copy enclosed) and not for State Government jobs. If they fail to do so, they will not be allowed to appear in the interview. Certificate in any other proforma will not be accepted in any case.
- One copy each of Attestation Forms (A.F.) and Special Security Questionnaire (SSQ) may also be downloaded which are required to be filled in by the candidate for carrying out Character & Antecedents verification wherever required. These forms may please be filled in for all the columns correctly and completely and in case the space provided in any of the column is not sufficient for furnishing the information sought, the candidate can utilize an extra sheet. This is, however, made clear that issuance and filling up of the attestation form (AF) and SSQ at this stage does not mean that the candidate has been or would be necessarily selected to the post of ACIO-II/Exe. The duly filled in AF and SSQ forms are required to be deposited by the candidate on the day of interview.
- The candidate is advised to bring this interview letter without which he/she would not be allowed entry. It may be made clear that no request for change of date and place would be entertained.

Ashish…the result will not be made public…admit card for Mains would be sent to successful candidates by post.As you know this was a recruitment for RAW that is why you cannot make any enquiries or file an RTI.They will not reveal a damn thing.They have dispatched the admit cards from Delhi on 13th/14th March by ordinary post that is why it took so much time…may be in a day or two many more candidates will receive their admit cards.I scored 139 but I haven’t received admit card yet…may be the cutoff went a little too high.SSC was given the task of conducting just Tier1…to shortlist the candidates…the work of SSC is now over and further processes would be carried out by Cabinet secretariat..so no use of contacting SSC also.
Yes, Kamran is right. I filed a RTI in cabinet sec for the result but they refused to give answer . SSC says they have submitted their result to cabinet sec on 30 Sept 2013.
Any Way Congratulation to SD and all those aspirants who got mains call letter.I want to share my past experience of DFO (Technical) mains (I cound not made it finally)- Last time 2 papers (paper1 GS , Paper 2 Technical) + individual cutoff + paper was easy + time was not a problem. For GS- Read NCERTS . But if it is executive post (english GK etc, refer notification )

As almighty GOD(aka MHA, at least temporarily) has decided not to publish results anytime soon and let us dread infinitely I am sharing my interview experience.
We were 5 guys waiting in the hallway for interview with me being the last. Interviews seemed to be getting over pretty quickly, maximum 4-5 mins. First time facing interview since college days( 3 Years ago). Finally my turn comes and I step in.
Me: Good Morning Sir.
G2/G3: Good Morning Mr X, please have a seat.
Me: Thank you Sir.
G2: So can you tell us about your graduation?
Me: Sir I studied engineering from ABC Institute of Technology and passed out in 2xxx.
G1: Which branch?
Me: Chemical engineering Sir.
G2: And what are you doing now?
Me: I work for my father. I help him in his business.
G3: What is your father’s business?
Me: Photography.
G3: (Cheerfully)So are you interested in photography?
Me: Yes Sir, but it is my father’s hobby, he was quite interested in it since his college days.
G2: Why no job after college?
Me: I had an offer but I did not join.
G3: Why?
Me: I was not interested. I did not see myself working there for very long and I didn’t want to work just for the sake of little more money or chasing promotions.
G2: Why did you study engineering then?
Me: It was not my choice. It was a decision my family took for me.
G2: What do you want to do then?
Me: Sir, my father worked for xxx company for more than 20 years. I saw him working day in and day out even when it did not provide him much satisfaction. So I decided I would do something that is important for both me and my community.
G2:(Seemingly surprised and then looks straight into my eyes) Okay I am going to ask you a question listen very carefully. Imagine its very important for you to go to chennai tomorrow and all you have is a waiting ticket with you. You don’t have any cash and the train does not have any general compartment. You have no other means to travel other than train. What will you do?
Me: I will get on the train and look for the TTE. I will explain him how important it is for me to go to chennai. I will request him to confirm my waiting ticket if at all possible. Worst case scenario I will request him to let me stay on the train even if I have to stand for the whole journey.
G2 So you will wait for the train to come and then do something?
Me: No Sir I would also contact Station master or any other official who help me get a seat on the train.
G3 Okay.
(All the three gentlemen look at each other)
G3: Do you know how to drive?
Me: Yes Sir, I drive a motorcycle and I have learned how to drive a car.
G3: You have learned?
Me Yes Sir.
G3: Okay. Thank you for coming Mr X. You can go now.
Me:(Standing up) Thank you very much Sir.
Interview was entirely in English, my first language is Hindi.

What kind of interview was this? for a railway post?
1) It is an offence to get on the train without a ticket(eve waitlisted). The punishment can be fine or jail. Repeated offenders are booked with the railway police.
2) atleast buy a general/second class tkt and get into the general compartment. If there is a sleeper vacancy(passenger did not board the train), you can pay the fare and get yourself a berth from TTE.
3) Just take a flight or drive a car to chennai.
@DUMDAAR- BRO.First read the Question……………In the Scenario the person don.’t have any cash nor any other means of transport available, also there is no general compartment…………..SO your point No 2 & 3 are wrong. As far as your point 1 goes, it is a problem solving questions……….answer could be many depending upon the situation and the mentality of the person.
If he didn’t argued on contacting ny 1 dn y cn’t call a friend to bring cash nd go for current reservation as few gd stn. hv ds facility 4 long distance trains.(moreover he didn’t mentioned whether u r alone on sm weird stn.)

Bhai the situations and possibilities could be many..lot of ‘ifs’ and ‘buts’…lot of exceptions and various solutions.The interviewer just wanted to get a idea about the “problem solving capability” of the candidate.In an interview you cannot go into details of everything…it’s a thing spontaneity rather than research.Kejriwar did good in that respect…he presented a straight forward solution…one a normal person would adopt.However if someone did go into the crazy possibilities…travelling on the roof of trains is one thing many Indians do everyday..no TTE…no current booking….wings in heaven foot in hell :p

They asked me for my favourite subject I said physics and they shoted questions like what is bernoulis law.. how is it helpful in take off.. which slv was recently launched by india, why was so much of hullabaloo about it..what books do you read apart from study books… author of to kill a mocking bird..male or female..why is she so famous.. what is cryogenic engine.. its principle.. do you know how to drive..so you must be having working knowlwdge of computers.. what can do you for IB..thats a very blunt answer… all smiles and then thank you :)
Btw today in ranchi I met one of the candidates from our batch..he said he got call letter for the previous batch..maybe they’ll finalise our results after the completion of last yr recruitment.
Yes last year candidates are getting their call letters…their training starts on 21st April.

SSC CGL 13 Prelims would be conducted in 7 cities..including Patna on 27th April.If you clear it you will get to appear in the Mains too.
Hey do any1 have any idea abt the weightage of written exam and interview in the final selection of student in acio?
Any information regarding the weightage pattern is not explicitly mentioned anywhere.
But some previour year candidates have said that written test holds greater weightage with the essay playing a pivotal role.

Yes bro..the whole conversation was in English.Infact one candidate who came back from interview told me that the interviewers were saying that ‘they would give preference to english speaking candidates.’
@kamran bhai – i was interviewed at chennai on jan13th… There were 3 ppl on d panel… The interview was in english.. The seniormost person went thru my marklist, asked me if i knew hindi as i studied in school. He told me 2 answer in hindi tat i knw 2 read, write, speak, asked me to speak few sentences.. Another panelist asked my pay in current job, asked my dad’s occupation, whr i was born and raised.Then seniormost person asked me questions 4m electromagnetic fields, as i had tat subject in 2nd yr of grad(ECE).. 3rd panelist askd me y i wanted to join IB, if my family and frnds won’t knw whr i am, wat am dng etc… Towards d end of 40mins, the seniormost panelist asked me a qstn, wen i told him, he jst smiled and said think on it… That was it…

@abc Its really difficult for me to beleive man,that for a class C post of acio they can grill candidates for 40 min becoz they dont take this much time to interview even for recruiting Assistant in IB which is class B post.

@CS It is Group C but equivalent to Group B. Same Pay Band as Group B. Ex: Like In CGL Income Tax Inspector is labelled as Group C. And It is true that they were grilling some candidates for long time(~30min) and some were interviewed for as low as 5-10 min.
