RTI for Photocopy of Mains Answersheet
In a recent ruling CIC (in June 2014) had ordered UPSC to give the photocopy of the mains answersheet to a candidate. So you can demand yours as well. Only then you can know where and why did good / bad marks.

As per the order of Hon’ble Chief Information Commissioner Shri Rajiv Mathur in CIC/SM/A/2013/001282/RM, dated June 3, 2014, he has held that every candidate has right to inspect / obtain a photocopy of his evaluated answer sheet in the civil service exam. Therefore, the said information cannot be denied / withheld under Section 8 of RTI.

- With this application, I’ve added the requisite Rs.10 application fees via Netbanking / DD / Indian postal order drawn in favor of “Accounts officer,UPSC“
- I seek the information in paper format / electronic (CD) format
- Let me know additional charges for getting the requisite information.

Mrunal notes:
- Legally, you can demand the information in CD/DVD format by giving Rs.50, but UPSC babus never give CD/DVD and don’t even return 50 rupees. So don’t send additional money in advance right now. At this stage only Rs. 10 as fees for filing the RTI application.
- After recieving your application, he’ll write back to you asking for additional money for the photocopy/CD charges. Only then you send money.
- if you’re filing online and donot get conformation even after successful payment via netbanking, THEN DONOT Worry. you’ll get notified in 1-2 days that your application has been accepted. (happened with me in past, so don’t apply again in that case, one application sufficient.)
- if you’re filling online, you may also attach a PDF copy of your hallticket (as proof that it’s you and not some third party.)
- Legally information within 30 days. But UPSC babus deliberately reply the letter on the very last day before deadline. So assume 35 days.
- other than that, request all mains players to put their optional subject marks.

this year i did appear for interview but could not make to the final list. My optional subject was also history with scores 76 and 104 in paper 1 and paper-2 respectively. It will be helpful if u would share your optional preparation strategy and sources, specially in case of paper 1.

Dear sir in this year exam I choose medium bengali but optional civil engineering. So how can I give optional in bengali??
Geography 77 and 99, could not make into final list, 712 total with 151 in interview
registered on UPSC site but could not receive a mail from UPSC to retrieve my marks…what to do?? waiting for the mail from UPSC if i try again it says already registered

Since last night trying to know marks of csm
But as i enter my login details ( tried through smartphone as well as pc including whatever changes required for this) website shows login page again and again… Frustrated now..roll no. And password entered Correctly. Any solution
just below the password box you will find a message to register. fact is that , for getting marks we have to register again and the old password of registration during mains won’t work. so first register and then use the new password which they will send on your email id

Well, for law I depended completely on Rahul’s IAS coaching. I am working as a civil judge, judicial magistrate in Haryana. I got 23rd rank in last years reserve list. But I wished for more. Rajat Sharma is correct, the key to success in these examinations is an extrmely good writing skills and matery over the subject. I should have worked harder. Though with the job it is difficult but the same is not impossible. 2014 will be my fourth attempt. I will not give any other attempt. This is the last one. I may or may not get selected, but this will be the last attempt.
I did not take any coaching for gs or other subjects. Only for law. That too for judiciary.

I got 76 in Indian Language(Hindi),and 160 in English compulsory paper..:(:(…Though this might sound over zealous but I believed I could go through mains,also I had discussed my answers with Ravindran Sir.Is there any way by which I could know my scores in the 7 other mains papers,cause this result leaves me in a limbo.Please let me know!
