UPSC Declares Cutoffs & Official answerkey for 2014 Prelims, some debatable Qs finally settled, Min.passing marks in GS1 also

2014 Cutoffs for Prelims, Mains & final

On 4th July 2015, UPSC declared the final result of civil services examination 2014. Since the “entire” exam process is now over, finally they have stopped RTI stonewalling and uploaded information about cutoffs and Answerkey on official website of UPSC.

Minimum Qualifying Marks in CSE-2014
  • Paper 1 (General studies): 40
  • Paper 2 (Aptitude): 70
  • 10% marks for each paper of Essay, General studies and optional subject.
  • 30% in Indian language and 25% in English, as per official notification. (Although for Mains-2015, they’ve kept it 25% for both language papers).

2014 Official Answerkey to Debatable Questions

  • Those who’re new to this game- UPSC conducts prelims in August b ut doesn’t give official answerkey in RTI until the entire process is over i.e. mains and interview.
  • They’ve now uploaded the official answerkey to UPSC prelims 2014 Paper 1 and Paper 2
  • Some of its questions generated too much debate and comment wars. Here are few of them now with official Answerkey. I’m referring to UPSC 2014 Prelims GS Paper 1: Testbook #A, and its Answerkey now uploaded on UPSC website under examination=>answerkeys

    1. 33 no. mrunal sir ne galat kaise diya,ye to simple hai, SLR se liquidity kam hogi because wo paisa to loan me nhi ghuma payege na

    2. it’s simple. On increasing the SLR, Bank will have less money to lend . Thus On increasing SLR Liquidity decreases .
      It was so simple. I don’t how Mrunal sir Gave the wrong Answer.

      1. You did not reach to the root… why is SLR there on the first place…. Had it been only blocking money for advances… won’t CRR been enough… than why two different kind of reserves

  10. upsc website says maximum marks in prelims is 385. How this is possible because this time paper was of 380 marks?

  13. Whats wrong wid upsc. I m getting 101 after checking with official key in Paper 2 and they have given me 77!!!
    I feel shocked,gutted. Not that I would hav cleared Pre, but it cud hav happened with sum1 who was going to clear. And it can happen again! OMG!
    And I can say for sure I have marked all the bubbles correctly.
    How to bring this to the notice of UPSC. Someone Plz help!!!

    1. Same issue. I just can’t believe it can happen. I had predicted a score about 210, I am no where close. It is like I lied about what I marked! DEPRESSING.

  15. I got 130 in GS-I without coaching wala. Thanx to the daily updates provided by Mrunal Last year.
    In GS-II, I had calculated 140 but I just got 116.68…coaching walas are all Farzi is the Bottom Line.

    2. true mohit… when I can score 44 and 117 in GS-1 & GS-2 Even without studying for a single day … just to test the waters… I believe with one years regular study can land somewhere around 100+ in GS-1… Now this Time M ready to face the battle.. 31 days to go
