  • They’ve now uploaded the official answerkey to UPSC prelims 2014 Paper 1 and Paper 2

  6. Hi Mrunal sir,

You always publish the job profiles of any recruitment, earlier i have seen SSC CGL job profiles which helps people in selecting the preferences order while applying, you have posted RBI assistants job profile and salary, work details, growth, how best it suits to a person like these kind of details you mentioned.

But related to UPSC ( civil services IAS, IPS, IFS, IRS,……..) there are 24 cadres… Earlier i found one link in google of yours which explains all these job profiles, now is not present.

So my request is to publish the UPSC civil services job profiles and their growth. I know that any job in civil service is more enough to any aspirant to get in.. But if details provided for this as you provided for SSC CGL, RBI assistants, Many people like me will get a clear idea.

  15. sir, this year paper II is just qualifying …so what we expect as the cutoff for paper I… as it is only GS.

    1. Yes even I m worried about that… above or below 100?

      1. It depends upon the student scoring the mark in GS? generally UPSC screens 12k-13k for mains selection. If question is easy and 13K student minmum mark in GS is 100 or more of that 13kth mark, then cutoff will be 100 or more . Otherwise may be 80 or 70 . Say generally they select 13k.

May be if u can secure 100 it is on safer side.

        1. 85-90 should be enough to get you in. But, for safety 100 is good.

However, let us assume we need 100 marks. Now to do that one needs to attempt at-least 75 Qs. The golden rule of UPSC Pre is that even if you are Einstein, you will get atleast 20 Qs wrong whether you attempt 60 or 70 or 80.

So, if you attempt 75, get 20 wrong then also you land up at 95 marks, which should be safe. So, ideal way is to attempt 75-80 Qs and out of those 55-60 should be correct.

    2. Hi Monica,
Don’t worry about the cutoff it will depend upon the difficulty level of paper and also, how much candidates UPSC select for mains…..
just do your best and hope for best..

  16. Jitendra Tiwari
    Congratulations for those marks
Would you mind telling the formate of your answer writing
    I would be really grateful
