getting 40 in GS and 67 in CSAT and i think i cant clear it.. :'( , may be very less can clear CSAT and GS cutoff will go down.. but it will go down till 90 or 95 ..

Because @ our centre they told us to write those details, compulsory!
for paper name space is sufficient but for center name(even school name) last year I wrote below line nothing happened I qualified for mains
As for as my knowledge some of my friends even for got to write center name,nothing happened brother,this is my third attempt. UPSC will not consider these mistakes.

Q. 97 in Series(A)
when the RBI reduces the SLR by .50 basis point-
a. india GDP growth increases
b. FII may bring more capital
c. Banks may cut their lending rates
d. it may drastically reduce the liquidity to banking system
Now according to CL and vajiram key option (C) is correct…
but according to me if RBI reduce SLR then bank will have more money (=.5% of net time and fixed deposit ) to distribute as a loan so it will increase lending rate and this way bank will have .5% less liquidity……
so according to my knowledge answer should be (D)….any IDEA?

My score ranging between 124 – 112 with numerous answer keys .
But few correction to questions
1) About Babar( question is about introduction and not use ……. introduction means making it 1 st time)
Only statement correct- timrud dynasty
because-
Use of gun powder- https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mahmud_Gawan is 1 st use gunpowder in 1411 itself and Babur though used but 100 year later
Dome and Arches- Bulbans dome 1 st true dome so no question of Babar to introduce

Surface temp is no problem because sun shines overhead on tropic
ITCZ coriolis force is zero hence no cylnones ITCZ absence means good for cyclone
South of equator coriolis force is more
so after eliminating above I had to mark on absence of land
Upsc is only authentic
Q. Tax to GDP ratio decrease indicates
Slow growth – nope because if suppose government reduces tax rates can also reduce tax/gdp
Less equitable distribution — again nopes because if more people earning money but not coming in tax bracket = more equitable distribution

I am very late in starting preparation … only after june 15 ….was in pvt job .for last 6yr…left job now in notice period ..will be ready to dive for next time..I may get around 80..as gen category I am not eligible..but always allowed to see next yr (as i am 28yr old)….to serve country in a better way for next 3 decade of my life…

I have made one mistake in paper 1 OMR sheet. I filled center code in subject code and darkened the circle, when I realized the mistake talked to the invigilator, she asked to cross the wrong bubble and dark the correct bubble and correct the numeral also and she had signed near the corrections. She was assuring this will not make any difference be tension free and do the paper. Suppose my center code was 06, I had filled 06 in Subject code and darkened 0 and 6 bubble, later I changed the 6 to 1 and darkened the appropriate bubble, invigilator has signed near to this corrections. Apart from this my roll number and question series is correct, will my answer sheet will be evaluated?
please share if any body had done any such mistake in any exam and whether the paper was evaluated.

@James… really hard to say if your paper will be evaluated or not….. machine check karta hai OMR. So technically for the machine… all sheets paper 1 & 2 are same. It will try to match the correct & wrong after applying 2 filter’s … 1st filter is subject code.. and second filter is set code ( a-b-c-d). Where there are 4.5L copies to be checked, it hard to imagine to image such an care would be given.. But if you get evaluated/selected, considering 120, you should be really thankful to fairness of UPSC.

I don’t know how papers are really scanned and what are the crucial parameters. Some people say all paper 1 omrs will be scanned in one batch and paper 2 in another batch. So machine is not going to scan subject code, it’s pre decided that scanned is happening for paper 1 or paper 2. Some says that just the roll number and paper series matters, don’t know what to do, mine is last chance.
James your paper will be evaluated, most important thing is that you r roll number and question paper series is right, i made the same mistake in another exam and got through that, so dont worry and very good marks in paper 1, congrats…

James, don’t worry. Your paper will be definitely evaluated. In 2013, I had made the mistake of darkening wrong bubbles for my roll number in paper 2. The invigilator made me speak to the controller of examination for his centre who assured me that my paper will be definitely evaluated.
As a precautionary measure, mrunal sir suggested me to give an application to UPSC regarding my issue and requesting them to consider my paper for evaluation. I did the same and got a receiving of the application as well from UPSC. You can do the same as an added measure. My paper was evaluated and I qualified the prelims as well that year.

@Amit Kumar: Thanks for the idea of giving application. I Called to UPSC, the facilitation center guy told me whatever had happened give it in written and if you are out side send by fax. They said I can’t answer straight yes or no give in written to secretary they will decide. I have faxed the application and praying for the best.
sorry james it may hurt you but i must tell you the truth.your paper will not be checked,i had made the same mistake last time and my score in paper 2 did not come out this time.
@sumit: you made the subject code mistake or roll number one, you had corrected the subject code and counter signed by supervisor.
what can be concluded from the following instruction:
6. Candidates should note that any omission / mistake / discrepancy in encoding / filling in details in the OMR answer sheet, especially with regard to Roll Number and Test
Booklet Series Code, will render the answer sheet liable for rejection.

Mrunal sir , i wil get 120+marks in 1st paper but in paper 2 i attemped only 39 qus. Out of 27/28 is correct by various answer key. To definetly achive a conclusion whether i qualify or not what shuld i do??
Correct ka total — 68 ban raha hai… galat ka -ve almost 9-10… matlab kya batau mere dost.
Total attempted 39, Assuming worse case 27 Correct then 12 Wrong. Then your marks come out as 57.5. If 28 correct then 60.83. In both case you don’t qualify buddy. Bad luck if that is the case

Looks tough. But you should start studying. If you qualify but you have not started then you will be kicking yourself. If you start studying and then don’t qualify, the studies don’t go anywhere, it will help you next year
