There is 15 number difference through on my marks from different answer keys . My marks are around 85-95 (sc) Category. What do you guys suggest , shall I start preparations for mains or no ?
By Predicting high cutoffs , some people are reducing competetion through mind game. Beware, every thoughts that you are not selected will reduce passion to prepare for Mains. Cutoff is the marks for last student who qualifies. Remember!

After completion of my master degree two years ago I decided to crack CSE and want to be a honest and powerful officer (as like every ones dream). I m from lower middle class family but still my parents provided me education till P.G and In our cast I am among the few girls who studied to the P.G. But after my such good degree I dont take job at my P.G Placement and decided for civil services, because I want to do something for my counry and most prime reason is I dont want to live common life which most of girl have to live. dis is my second attempt I worked hard time but I dont knw ds time I m not able to clear prelim but I have trust and hundred percent confidence that in next try I definitely clear all stage. this time I gave my 100 percent then for next year I wl put my 200 percent, but my parents lost their faith on me and also relatives and now they dont want to give me one year. Friends what should I do? My parents dont understant the seriousness of exam the level of exam they will not give me one next chance and want tht I also live my life like other girls and leave this exam be-xam IAS-BiAS. this all for high profile class not for us and we have to live like middle class as we are.

I understand your situation. Try convincing your parents again. Meanwhile please do not lose your support system – friends, teachers etc. I know that in our country even adults are treated as kids, but the law IS on your side. They cannot stop you from pursuing your dream. And as someone said, no one can make you feel inferior without your consent. Hope things work out for you :)
See if you have prepared seriously for 2 years you can now carry on your preparations along with some work. Taking up a job would silence your parents and relatives for sometime and you can get a decent chance of preparing…… But remember whichever work you take do ensure that you study daily for the exam…. Upsc has never been about class but about destiny and hard work…..

Don’t worry. Convince your father and prove that you could clear this if one more attempt be given. If possible you could start preparing from your home. There is no point staying at Delhi or any high rent cities. If you want something in your life, you must have the guts to tell and make other understand how important your goal if, not like other girls whose aspirations are not more than getting married. So take a chance, also fill other exams so that for next time onwards, you don’t need to convince anyone.
guys look paper 1 was easy but in examination envn we make silly mistakes in easy papers too.I am giving my own example.i have marked wrong answers in those questions which were easiest one including monetary tools(& my friends say that i m very good in economics).In 7-8 questions i changed right answer with wrong one at last moment bcoz of confusion and when i came outside exam room i myself knew that i did mistakes.and i am sure this happens with everyone.no matter how prepared u r.It was my 2nd chance and last year I missed final by just 7 marks(marks-882).I am getting 122-128(varying with different answer keys) and with my experience I am sure that i will qualify.So those who are getting 100+ must not waste time in discussing cutoffs.start prep for mains otherwise Nikhil has rightly said in comment line”Pre ka pata nai but agar chance hi poochte rah gae to mains me pakka nai hoga”
