Last time on 1 mark 27% (around 4500) candidates for obc exhausted mean at cut off line a large number of candidates rest
This time most candidates are getting 100+_2
No there were not 4500 Candidates on one mark. Rather due to OBC quota being extended to Jats, there were many seniors who had crossed the age limit who gave the exams. These people would have scored 205+ but they were not eligible for general category due to age factor and they took away the OBC seats. This happens in CAPF where sometimes OBC cut off goes higher than General due to the same reason

I fail to understand UPSC policy. Preliminary examination is not a final selection process. It is a part of an applications screening process. How can, at this stage, UPSC can have different cut offs for different categories? If at all it wants to ensure enough number of candidates from all the categories, it should invite all the candidates above the lowest cut off decided for the most disadvantaged category. For example, if ST (PH)”s cut off is, say 60%, all the candidates above this level should be invited for written part of the main examination, and then ensure reservations as per the percentage.

Plz Google the words guardian and custodian …. Lot of difference between the two words.. President is guardian of the constitution but SC is custodian.
its the other way round, custodian means defender that is given within the oath of president, while SC is the guardian (the one who guarantees constitution).
upsc has previously asked about guardian /guarantor of the constitution. so guardian part is ruled out, IT IS SC
conflict is custodian , no body is sure about it. so only upsc knows. take it as wrong for now.
In the mains 1988 paper,UPSC had asked this question that how Supreme Court acts as the custodian of the constitution.Though I saw it in one of the websites and have not seen the original paper.So one may verify if one wants to know
custodian is synonym of guardian and vice versa. so answer should be SC.
*** Oath of President – Preserve, Protect and Defend the Constitution i.e. The President is the Custodian of the Constitution.
*** SC (Judicial Review, Final Interpreter) i.e SC is the Custodian of the Constitution.
So UPSC has to decide according to its whims.
