- On 7th August 2016, UPSC had conducted preliminary exam for civil services aka CSAT.
- 16th September 2016, they’ve declared result= within 40 days. Seems a new record for UPSC!
- Total ~15,500 candidates qualified for Mains-2016 against 1,079 final vacancies. (15,445 to be precise.)

- Those who cleared prelims, need to fillup a new form online before mains. It’s called “Detailed Application form” (DAF).
- DAF will be available from 7th October to 20th October 6PM.
- Civil Service Mains to start from 3rd December 2016.
- Those who qualified – congratulations.
- Those who did not qualify- this is not the end of the world: Look at the right hand green box for the upcoming exams and for next year prelims, rectify for the lacunas in your strategy.
Cutoff marks not declared, YET
Unlike RAS prelims, UPSC has not revealed cutoffs marks of Prelim-2016 immediately after declaration of result.
Anyways, here are the cut-off marks in last prelims 2015:

now like prelims qualify in mains and interview also in open category..else reject the post even if u manage to get one through obc category..will u do that??..u dont need reservation u said..then should have filled the form from open category only..who stopped you from doing that?..why was the need to fill form in obc??..to be on the safer side right.. so that if u score well u can brag and if u dont u still qualify the exam in category..thats typical indian hypocritic mentality dude..any ways best of luck for mains
