I’ve closed the comment system, because aspirants wasting too much time in debate, rather than studying.
UPSC has uploaded the halltickets for CSAT-2014. No change in exam date. It’s same 24th august 2014, Sunday. No change in exam structure- same two papers. No change in negative marking, same 33%.

- If your hallticket doesn’t have clear photo/signature, you will have to bring a photo identity proof viz. Adhar Card, Driving License, Passport, Voter I Card etc. and two passport size photographs one for each paper with an undertaking.

UPSC was right…for this reason only, they have released admit cards one month prior to exam (they never did before like this) and it was the indication that they WONT change the exam pattern and syllabus…but politicians made this problem worst…so now only 20 days left…its time to battle in exam hall, see you there!!!!
who said that!!!
Even last year UPSC released admit card approx one month before:
I am giving you the exact date here.
UPSC Civil Services Admit card download from 28/04/2013 to 26/05/2013.
for protesters…jindgi bhr ek hi galti karte rahe galib…dhool chehre pe lagi thi aur aaina ponchte rahe..
तमाम उमर वोही किस्सा-ए-सफ़र कहना
के आ सका न हमें अपने घर को घर कहना
वो शख्स मुझे बहुत बदगुमान सा लगता है

For CSAT- बदलकर फकीरों का हम भेष गालीब तमाशा ए अहलेकरम देखते हैं।
ok now drama is over.
I want to party tonight with my friends staying in mukherji nagar. Padhai+ beer awesome combination,,,
For me beer is the motivation to do study.. ex: kal beer pini h to syllabus nipatao and raat ka qota b ,, :D
Nice decision.. in Lok Sabha , no one can temper committees report
Being an IAS aspirant…you should be sensible enough to the issues of people.Abhi se bureaucrat na bano.
Invite me too i have a half of black Dog, cheers!!
sleepless nights –>terrific dream—>uncontrolable thoughts–>still chasing to win.
gov nt happy with no change …UPSC vs GOV… gov says.” Upsc ..bhaiya IJAAT dav pe lagi hai….yaar kuch to concession do…aise kaise chalega …election ke naam pe nahi to bacho ke naam pe dedo..”
http://economictimes.indiatimes.com/news/politics-and-nation/csat-examination-government-upsc-head-towards-a-collision/articleshow/39445273.cms
Everybody knows government is going to scrap the CSAT. So I suggest it dispense with the bullshit statements of “looking into the matter” and be done with it. May be it is waiting for the auspicious August 15 to herald the “independence from CSAT”. It’s vacillations have eaten into every one’s energy and now it’s time it did away with overtly conspicuous tomfoolery………………… cheers everybody :)
Since this all boils down to politics now. (i am neither for nor against CSAT just trying to look at this politically)
BJP has nothing to gain politically if they give in to the protestors demands. The hindi
belt has nothing to offer in terms of votes (No way SP is coming back to power in UP) and with
the efficiency with which Modiji has rejigged the bureaucracy in New Delhi. I am pretty sure
the UP and Bihar population would want a slice of the same. On the other hand it might just mess up things
down south if the government plays into the hands of the protestors. Even with the assembly elections around
the corner the local population of Uttar Pradesh would be least bothered about protests against CSAT they are
more concerned about the deteriorating law and order situation thanks to the SP rule.
In any case if the Government does decide to do something drastic it is the opposition parties
which will gain political mileage out of the same. Which would be ironical considering that most of
these parties were in the treasury benches while this mess was being created in the first place.
For me it is really hard to digest the fact that Akhilesh Yadav or Mulayam Singh Yadav talks about
the rights of IAS aspirants considering what they do to honest, upright IAS officers (i haven’t forgotten Durga Nagpal)
do someonne know what is this reserve list in capf exam rsult ????
i missed list by 45 number :(
sorry its just 4 marks .
so i have a chance in reserve list ??
yes u have chance…. good luck :)
Mrunal bhai upsc answer key of capf ac regarding roshni scheme is wrong me getting one mark less than cut off what to do please suggest
thread over..
csat is chuutii soon. great to see a fellow kannadiga subash gowda stick it up to ornob mosambi……RIP CSAT and may the humanities and allied streams rise once again to claim their rightful place…
matlab?
Govt has said it ill force upsc to drop english that is of 22 marks and also look into translation issue of other ques
Kab Kahan Kaise??
http://economictimes.indiatimes.com/news/politics-and-nation/csat-examination-government-upsc-head-towards-a-collision/articleshow/39445273.cms
I don’t believe politicians like you do.
If you think it’s as easy as that…better read laxmikanth again…in any language you prefer.
Govt can not force UPSC…if upsc agrees then only it’s possible…all recruitment power vests in upsc only.
Parliament needs to make amendment to change it…however that takes time and is subject to judicial review and president has no time limit to sign it.
It’s a long process…until then UP elections would be over and the govt will have no interest in pursuing it.
If someone does not know this how can they even score in paper one…then they will say paper one is also discriminatory.
reading too much dont let u see whts happening in reality..
Last year UPSC (ur autonomous body) made changes of including english paper in merit list…with 2-3 days amid strong reaction ( 10% of wts happening rite now) from opposition party n some students ..gov directed n UPSC withdrew t changes….this year congress gov ( SUPPORT OF RAHUL GANDHI) told UPSC to INCREASE 2 more attempt ..it did it….was der any amnemt ..judicial review…?.UPSC is part of larger GOI….. ( india has parliamnt supremacy wth judical review on basic features only)..if GOV decides something UPSC got to have strong PRACTICAL reason to oppose it( for now it could be “time” )…ELSE IT WILL just do wt it says…
agle saal bhai nothing is gonno happen this year buddy ………everything is done ….
Iss saal toh mushkil lagta hai par jo bhi ho whole paper 2 should b removed tabhi hoga level playing field jab appitude remove hoga
if u have so much of a problem with a little bit of aptitude testing and such a deep love for humanities then probably you should consider pursuing some PhD or something in those courses…..
What abt u boss? Why don’t u join some MNC, or some blue-chip engineering firm, instead of wasting ur talent in Civil services? Or if u r so eager to serve the country(oh, really?), u could better join Indian Engineering Service so as to make da best use of ur talent & training.
i do not need an advice from you because i m not the one creating ruckus and an over hyped hullabaloo for csat. although i do feel that the issue could have been sorted amicably and more objectively but our political class simply knows how to milk any given situation for maximum political mileage. people like you are responsible for turning this debate(that had the potential of improving the recruitment process) into a confrontation between humanities and science background students. so dear pant, tighten up your pants and start worrying or the xam rather than giving stupid suggestions to me about my career.
Brother.. stop talking in this way… i m also a Engineer, but i have no problem with anyone,
A simple theory- Just tell me the pattern and date of exam, i will change my attitude according to exam.. Let upsc ask entire question from humanity subject.. i m ready to learn and grab a good command over all those subject.. So my advice to you .. stop reacting on humanity student instead start responding for your future exam.. Good luck Brother
hello shivendra, can i get ur email id.
yahi hai right choice by the commission
All Hindi and English medium aspirants , it’s better go 16 hrs study and do ur best. Next year bhi UPSC is not going to drop the pattern , may be 10% change is accepted . So ready for 90%. Do not wait for 2015. Do not play with ur career. Still 22 days r enough to revise ur old stuff and to update with little things. Avoid newspaper , do it after exam. UPSC already told that an IAS should know the basic English of 10th level and they are not going to change it. Lok Sabha always says “Yes”to committee reports because it is already compiled experts . SO no way CSAT is going to get scrap for 1 or 2K students,, as their are 6 lakh students participating. So every one knows who are standing in majority ( non-violent + adaptable to change with World + do not cry like Selfie +ready to face challenges ). I think 6 lakh candidates are more important than 2K students.
If anyone practicing CSAT Paper 2 using “Arihant practice set” please share their scores which gained in controlled time i.e., 2 hours, if possible
I’m getting avearage 60% and according to book it falls under the category very good score but I’m not satisfied because if here I’m getting this much how much will I get at center. Please share the strategy to enhance the marks.
Thanks,
Yet to give them a shot. But have you tried Career Launcher’s papers? They’re a level higher than Arihant and I was able to score ~ 135 on an average there. The entire game of CSAT is of accuracy v/s speed.
For comprehension try to focus on accuracy and no matter how lengthy / complicated passages- try to finish all comprehension questions + Decision making + last few English comprehensions (ones without any translation) in about half the time (~ 1 hour). There are several techniques adopted by players which vary from person to person. You should come up with yours- experiment which one suits you the most (remember, a passage shouldn’t take more than 7-8 minutes)
Then for rest of the paper which includes Quant + Logical Reasoning (Syllogism etc) + Non verbal reasoning / Problem solving and Data Interpretation- you can work on speed as there’s a lot of scope here. Moreover, the “pattern” of questions too is pretty limited here (except Non-verbal part). Hence, the more exhaustive variety of questions you’d practise- the more ease you’ll gain while sailing through them as you see (for Eg- in Arihant; if there’s a question on Surds; you must know some theory behind it otherwise you’ll lose time/marks)
Hence, to summarize- Comprehension is the game changer, try to improve accuracy at the cost of time (strategy oriented); and save time on rest of the questions (practise oriented)
Hope it works for you.
Cheers
cut off- 257 ^__^
can you please tell me how to get Career launcher CSAT test papers………….??????/

Thank you for your detailed response and advice. As I finish this book which is already done with 15 test would like to go for next as per your advice. Also I would like to mention here there is no problem in any other section except Comprehension where able to get 60%, so I am preferring TMH CSAT Practice set written by MK Bhagat and having 100 comprehension in same fashion as asked in the exam. hope someone will share his/her experience with this book.
Once again Thanks!!

sir very much happy today got selected sir. your help very much.so thank you.SIR BUT FROM CHILDHOOD MY DREAM IS TO RULE THIS WORLD SO PLEASE SUGGEST ME A STRATEGY FOR THIS
MYSELF BABLOO ASKING QUESTIONS .FROM HINDI BUT WILL THINK IN ENGLISH AND REPLY IN SANSKRIT.PLEASE DONT PROTEST.
Instead of postponing which the UPSC is hell bent against why can’t they change the weightage of the question papers. Increase GS marks to 2.5 per question and decrease CSAT marks to 1 question each and increase the number of attempts. So technically even if you have an upper hand in aptitude you still can score a maximum of only 80 marks (which is very unlikely). UPSC still gets to test the aptitude of students (their argument that CSAT is a scientifically designed test to test the aptitude of students). I do not think the UPSC needs to make any major changes to change the weightage of questions. This will definitely eliminate the argument that only CSAT is helping a student to clear the cut-off marks. In the current CSAT era a student can crack prelims with a combination of say 60 in GS and 180 in CSAT (without taking in mind negative marking this translates into GS- 30 correct answers and 72 correct answers in CSAT) against someone who scores say 230 (90 in GS and 150 in CSAT which would translate into 45 correct in GS and 60 correct in CSAT). If we change the weightage scheme then the first student gets 147 and the second would get 172.5 thus turning the tables around. I think all those for CSAT are against the removal of paper or say dropping of the English questions but i don’t think they would be against say decreasing the weightage of the entire paper itself). Because if the aspirants whether pro-CSAT or against- CSAT unanimously agree on the importance of GS nobody has raised any questions about it.
If the government and UPSC were to agree on such a change i think it will clearly address the issue of unfair advantage due to CSAT raised by the protestors. And it will also address the need to test aptitude as envisioned by UPSC (because even though you are decreasing the marks you still need to get them correct to score right.)
I think in my personal opinion if something is done in these lines everyone goes home happy. DPA gets to keep his English questions, Government has made changes for the benefits of the aspirants, and the protestors can go back to their core strengths of GS as they claim. Just my two bits :)
Totally agree with you. That is the exactly the problem and the Best Solution possible. The whole debate should have been about GS vs CSAT , but unfortunately it has become Engineers vs Non-engineers, Science vs Humanities, Rural vs Urban etc which has deviated the discussion and politicised it at the same time.More importance to GS will solve the grievances of all the sections of the students (Non-engineer, Humanities, Rural candidates etc)Its very shocking that the topmost bureaucrats and most experienced individuals are unable to find this simple solution to such a simple problem. If such individuals are running the country then I am sorry to say it, but our nations’s future is very dark.
did you just land in India yesterday??????///// you have left no scope for electoral dividends in your solution……………… simple . amicable and practical solutions like yours are exactly the kind politicians hate……………..
they are not going through hectic deliberations just for the aspirants’ well being…………………..
Sir, please help me. I entered my name in registration as VIJAYANANAND instead of VIJAYANAND (partly due to my keyboard and majorly due to my ignorance to check it later). Now as per hall ticket my name is VIJYANANAND.
I already sent mail to upsc.
Anyone Please clarify whether will i be disqualified for exam? what is next procedure if UPSC says nothing can be changed(name)??
just appeared in up pcs pre. Hey bhagwan kya kya poochte h. Ab ye mujhe kaise pata ki Tilak ki arthi ko kisne kandha diya tha. This was one of the q. In the name of Csat also, more than 30% theory of communication skill and decision making…hadd h yaar….
any1 here who appeared for up pcs today?
just like how in the mains lit was forced upon by political parties…even here if dmk,ss back it then it would be possible to kick csat out…the mains have been changed..and everybody welcomes it….now time to end 3 years of misery kill csat…bring back optionls in the prelims!!
come on fellow southerners..join the chorus.
First of all dont divide nation into north and south… Even if you consider, this year 45 from Karnataka, 45 from Andhra and Telangana, 90 from Tamil nadu and 25 from Kerala (immaterial of their medium of examination are selected… Once considered as exam of Bihari and UP babus, civil services exam has now reached to south people… And the trend is upward. Why do they support u now? For whose benefit? Are u protesting for printing question papers in other than Hindi and English languages also…? No, u people just want more benefit for Hindi people.. And generally, most of south indian people take CSE in English. So participating in ur cause=> benefit/cost ~=0 for them….
when question papers are only in Hindi and English(for past 60 yrs) , u guys never cared abt sotuh indians (who are not good in english and dont know anything abt Hindi) and u were not aware of the justice..
but now when the trouble comes to u , then u r searching for the support….dont u think this is a selfish act?
*SOUTH
Now many opposition parties like DMK, AIADMK, TMC etc started protesting in the parliament for conducting examination in all indian languages (becoz of initiatives by Prof. D. P Agrawal we are able to write answers in our medium and can also give interview in our medium)…. Probably, it is the time UPSC starts preparing question papers in regional languages also from next year…..
I salute the South Indians for not whining and bitching for petty considerations to achieve success…………………. surely on the language front they had the most to loose right from the beginning of the CSE…………….. but they never made any issue about that…………………………….
35 with 9 attempts demand a genuine one now!
Has anyone else been allotted “Shri ram millennium school, Noida sector-135” as prelims centre? Or any other centre along the greater Noida Expressway? Would you be interested in carpooling? Please reply.
evn though i m against ny changes i do support postponing
