United Insurance Administrative Officer exam is to be held on 28th or 29th December 2014. They had decided to conduct direct “Mains” exam. I hereby request the players to share their online exam experience / trend analysis, for the benefit of future aspirants.

General Awareness (40: generalist | specialist)

  1. Financial sector questions: number, nature, difficultly level? Concepts asked or trivial GK-dates-names-numbers asked?
  2. What was the span of current affairs (3 months, 6 months, 8 months, 1 year?)
  3. Did they ask anything from economic survey / budget 2014?
  4. How much was current affairs vs static theory portion?
  5. How much focus on [PIN] persons in news, books, authors, awards etc.? Example questions?
  6. Overall difficulty level and how many questions did you attempt in this section correctly?

Reasoning (50 Generalist | 40 Specialist)

  1. Variety of questions- sitting arrangement/ syllogism / input-out etc?
  2. Did they ask non-verbal reasoning? (Image based questions) if yes what variety? (Paper folding / mirror images / dice color etc.)
  3. Overall Difficulty level and how many questions did you attempt in this section correctly?

Quantitative Aptitude (50 Questions)

  1. Variety of questions- did they ask interest rate, profit-loss, time work etc. or was it entirely based on Data interpretation sets?
  2. How lengthy was the data interpretation (DI) set?
  3. Did they ask permutation combination probability and Venn diagrams?
  4. Overall Difficulty level and how many questions did you attempt in this section correctly?

English (40 questions for both Gen & Spec.)

  1. How many Qs from comprehension? Their length and difficultly level compared to SBI PO / CAT / CSAT?
  2. Did they ask separate questions on vocabulary, phrases, synonym-antonym etc? (or was it part of the comprehension passage e.g. what is the meaning of underlined word in passage)?
  3. Did they ask sentence arrangement sets like CDS and CAT exam?
  4. Did they ask sentence correction, if yes how difficult?
  5. How many grammar questions (active-passive, direct-indirect, do as directed.)
  6. Overall, Difficulty level and how many questions did you attempt in this section correctly?

Computer (20 for Generalist | unknown for Specialist)

  1. What were the major areas? (E.g. network-internet, security, office, hardware, OS etc.)
  2. Overall difficulty level and how many questions did you attempt in this section correctly?
  3. For specialist officers: syllabus said, computer will be asked within Quantitative aptitude portion, so how many computer MCQs were asked?

Technical knowledge (40 Qs for Specialists only)

  • Name of your field: Legal / Automobile / Finance.
  • Nature and difficulty level of questions.
  • Which books / material / web-resources did you utilize for preparing this?
  • How many questions did you attempt correctly? How easy / difficult was it compared to other bank specialist officer exams you’ve appeared in?

Descriptive paper

  • Essay writing: What topics given? how many marks? Which one did you write? What points did you include in it?
  • Letter writing: what topic and how many marks?
  • Précis was worth how many marks?

Job bond system applies in United India AO

  • In case any candidate is still unaware: United India insurance AO job requires you to sign a bond for four years, otherwise damages equivalent to 1 year’s salary, will have to be paid.
  • + If you resign within probation period, you’ll have to pay additional 25,000 rupees as damages.
