- 13th April 2015: 3300+ candidates selected for interview for 1291 vacancies. Result Link
- 18th April: Call letters to be uploaded on UPSC official site. This time no paper based interview call letters will be sent.
- 27th April: Interviews to begin.
- After final result is out, UPSC will upload Marksheets for all candidates.

My geo 1 dint go that well. But others went good enough. I was hoping to get away with it. I was thinking that underperformance in geo1 would be compensated by others which went well. But that dint happen. Even if you screw up one of your paper, you are done. 3rd mains. Failed attempt. Numb. Feeling good for nothing. I ll run for 2015 but presently everything seems blurred.

I m feeling extremely miserable right now. Though, i kept my fingers crossed but I still had hope that I might make it. But unfortunately, pub ad may have drowned me. I feel like not talking to anyone.
I suffered pain physical, mental and now emotional as well. I seriously don’t know if I should continue preparation or not. May be I have become useless or exam has become too difficult or LUCK plays a good role in making you clear this exam.

First of all, I will say that dont get tired. Upsc is an exam of your tenacity. If you continue your journey you will get success surely.
Another thing I want to tell you. Please remember -the person is not a hero who does not fail. But he is the hero who stand up after every failure and says -yes, I can and will.
Just thrpw away your negative attitude and mentality. Take this failure as a lesson. It will help you to identify your mistakes easily.

My roommate (who got IRPS last time with pub ad scoring 133,85) also did not clear this time with pubad. Just mentioned his score to show how even a scoring guy failed due to the same paper.

I was just going through an article and I came upon your comment in the corner. Don’t mind me saying this but you should go for an optional if you like it. If you are passionate enough about a subject, then your clarity about the subject will help you clear the paper.
Don’t bother about the cutoffs.. For 3 people who have not cleared the cutoff with a certain optional subject there are others who have cleared it with the same optional..
Anybody is capable of clearing the paper, provided they put in the right efforts… The main word being ‘Perseverance’.. Yes, it is easier said then being done.. I know.. But, a little introspection never hurt anyone. Think about it, think off what you like and try to find the subject which challenges your intellect..
I hope I have affected your thinking in some small way, and I wish you all the best for your future exams..

Dude, I also don’t know. With the fluctuation in the difficulty level of optionals nobody can guess. In 2012 pub ad was worse, in 2013 it’s Geo, in 2014 it’s pub ad again. So for ex if we change to socio and it turns out difficult, again we would fail. So I also don’t know, now fully confused, ll think after few days.
In 2012 when we had 2 optionals, I has planned to take pubad and geo and took coaching for pubad. Meanwhile we had confusion if we would ve 2 optional from 2013, so I did not study geo. Pubad was bulldozed that year but still. I chose it for 2013 when the announcement came for 1 optional. If I had chosen geo which was tough in 2013 then I would have thought ‘ why did I change optional’.
Now there is same situation. So I think it’s better to continue with pub ad. But still risk factor is there. Nobody can really tell.

Could not clear… In shock… Had done well all papers except Anthro -1 which went bad… But I had thought I wrote GS and other papers quite well… Attempted all Qs in GS. Concepts clear. Prelims score 93+158…. Im totally shattered.
I thought atleast I will clear the written. I know how hard it was to carry on and study with job. And now this shock. I have disappointed everyone. Now I’m 28 years. It was my 2nd and first serious attempt. Iam heart broken. What should I do? IObviously I want to prepare again. But again the same cycle…Since so many years, just hard luck
Arrow_28 Don’t loose your heart for the failure. Think twice before you make a negative room in your mind. UPSC is a game, some lose and some win. Have a chill out hang out with friends and look forward. This time you will surely make it, trust me you have all the qualities UPSC needs. It’s just patience which is necessary to achieve tough goals in life. This for all those who made serious efforts and couldn’t make it. Success always turns to those who don’t loose their heart after failures.

Dude.. we have everything (literally everything) similar except age and optional. However shocking the result is, we have to accept it and respect those who cleared above us. They were better than us this time. We both have 4 chances left, lets get going and prepare harder this time.
UPSC reducing age limit to 26 for genral and 29 for OBC
I too didn’t clear.. was 3rd mains… earlier 2 mains I was 7 and 20 marks short of cutoff. Thought had improved on mistakes this time..
