hats off to you bhai…..really inspirational…keep it up!!
I think u have already excelled..I know real intelligent logo key sath to Aisa he hota hai..or faltu logo Ka selection ho jata hai..
I wonder whats wrong with the Pub Ad. Why discriminate us? We are hardworking and loyal to our optional. We definitely did better than other optionals. UPSC hits us with the question paper and then by evaluation and then by scaling and then by what not. Fu*ked up with Pub Ad and UPSC.
Congrats all who cleared mains, hope God provides ethics in interview
congrat to all who have cleared . Is there any one from Geography? I’m fresher and want to opt geography.

all the best for interview
Heartiest Congratulations and best wishes to Successful candidates for their Personality Test and to those who could not qualify, including myself, battle is not over yet. Be ready for the first round (CSAT) of game coming soon in August, 2015.
I have heard about the decreasing of the age limitation to 26 yr.plz update sir….since I am following n preparing from this site…….
Thanks sir….
Dear sir/Madam
Respectfully, I beg to state that I wrote “CGL Tier 2 exam” but I left to sign in the attendance sheet of the evening shift. I did all to all the formality relating to OMR sheet, admit card, attendance sheet fill up. Only one thing I left to do is this that” I did not done my facsimile signature in the evening shift paper of English”.
Actually, the teachers were not so supportive and they did not might have got proper instruction regarding the conduction of exam and all other formality relating to attendance sheet etc. We generally get the guidance through the invigilator in the exam hall. But, no such proper guidance was there.
Now, it is striking to me that whether all things done by me is correct or due to only this problem I will be not considered or my will get zero marks? I need assistance from you so that I can get the security of being myself in the safe zone. My candidature will be cancelled or not?
So, assist me regarding this that “does it make a big issue or there will be no problem due to this”
I am providing all my details and the exam centre where the exam was conducted (12-04-2015) :

bhai this is not the concerned thread…pls a humble request…already having a lot of stress. ;)
Congrats to all those who have cleared mains, I have been following this site for almost a year now, its one of the best efforts to help out all teh aspirants with relevant topics and lucid presentation, but i too like all others miss the infotaining writeups of Mrunal Bhai. I would like to tell all those who had ufortunately not made the cut this time that life does not end here, this is simply a speed breaker, i can tell you about many guys who went upto interviews 3 times in row didnt make it and in 4th attempt cleared and made it to top, so dont loose your heart. dont shuffle optionals too many times as it wont help. do a SWOT analysis for self advices may hhelp but you are your best judge, take subjects which you are confident of handling by seeing syllabus and last ten year papers, and than JUST DO IT. in the end a word of advice always have back up plan…..ALL THE BEST TO ALL..
Bt rishi bhai…..suna h ki age limit kam hoga then will have the problem for those dreaming to be IAS. …
jitendra, dont think you will have to wait for fourth attempt work hard and prepare as the attempt you going to give is the last one. moreover regarding age limit i dont think so there will be a drastic cut in limit it will be gradual if there is going to be any, politics decides many things and reducing age limit will reduce votes so dont worry about that, conentrate on your efforts.
any one with anthropology optional
can tell about covering of syllabus with self study
I am very much worried about it
self study sufficient..1st start wd physical anth then social part
I have been wrting mains with d same pubad optional .dunno wat on d earth is not enabling me to clear this mains .i fear d language paper . Last time cudnt clear due to that. it’s really difficult to gather courage and start preparation .when u r working too.
i wrote with sociology….cleared NET+SLET in first attempt and done well in test series too. but compulsory Kannada this time was a bummer. if i got kicked out due to this it’ll be most pissing off. which was your compulsory language? what is this? the compulsory paper was a nightmare! as worse as a lit paper itself.
HI snoopy…i.m from kerala took hindi as compulsory paper in 2012 since i was from k.v….couldnt clear by 1 mark
this tym i went with malayalam as compulsory without even knowing how to write big essays..i practised daily half an hour with previous year papers and nw i,m thruuu to interview….
never lose courage..practice u.r mother tongue at least after prelims daily…u.l easily get thru…
did you manage to complete the compulsory language paper?
upsc main exam complet now intiriew now 13 may 2015
After reading the above comments a feeling of resentment came to my mind, somehow related to human nature.
After results are out, everyone out of the battlefield cheer the success and ignore the agony of those who failed…..typical of indian society. No one actually cares how much hardwork the person did. Its the result that defines your past course till today. This attitude really makes me sad.
The greatest disgust i feel when i see comments like ”i cleared” just below the comments like ”i couldnt”. Its inherent nature of human to express joy upon success which could be expressed in a variety of ways including comments but imagine the condition of those who r unsuccessfull and read the comments like” hurray! i did it :)”
I apologise if somehow i hurt anyone unintentionally. I have tasted success as well as failure many a times in life. Not yet appeared in upsc.
Just to quote an example based upon my friends….”Thank you mother, father, thank you god, and my friends, now you can call me Dr. successfully cleared final MBBS exam!!” posted on Facebook. Imagine the condition of those of his friends who couldnt pass or even those of many who couldnt make it to the college upon reading this. I too was among the one who failed in final year.!!
So for those who passed..congratzz!! but for those who failed.. no sympathies…no ones gonna feel pity for you in this mean world..find your loopholes..stand up taller.. and achieve heights so high that those who today say ” i did it” get compelled to say ”HE DID IT”
did’nt committed any mistake, although had apprehension about compulsory hindi..i think was done by it
sir… right now I m working as a engineer in bsnl but i always have to dream to be IAS. so sir please advise me how to tackle with both job and exam preparation.
Guys how is electrical engineering optional ? I am planming to do with electrical engineering in 2016. I am B.tech ECE
Hi Vivek
Electrical engineering optional subject is scoring unless you worked hard. This subject is not going to complete in 3 -4 months it requires time and consistency with good amount of practice (daily) .Questions are straight forward and not much analytical like other humanities subject if you had prepared well you will write answer in the mains. You need to study only power system analysis if you had studied electric machines and power electronics in your university(some universities are having electrical machines and power electronics in the syllabus like BIT Mesra etc)
@ vivek…why don’t you try ESE ?….as am matter of fact paper of IAS in our subjects will be easier than IAS..but u have to read the core electrical subjects too i.e machines, power systems and power electronics.
Anyone cleared with History optional? I thought History would be a subject picked by most of the aspirants, but cannot see anyone with history optional clearing mains this time. Is scoring marks in history that diffcult? I am taking exams in 2015 and I am preparing history as optional. Any comments/advice regarding history optional by experts is highly appreciated. Thanks!!!
importance of plan B
after seeing the posts here, i want to ask what is a good plan b. definitely not a banking job !!!…i am a sclae 2 at an rrb and it is not as comfy and nice as people think….is a ugc pay scale lecturer job the next best thing ? many are joining ngo/think tank these days with the hordes of knowledge accumulated through years of upsc study.
suggest good plan b options…
do you have any idea, how you apply for these think tanks/NGO. What are the ways to get in.
Marathi .i thought to take Hindi but thought wud clear with marathi .The passage was bouncer for me though completed d paper .dnt keep bank job as plan me .i m dng d same as po .it’s too hectic .lets see .waitin for mark sheet
Hindi was even a bigger bummer. Munshi premchand to aayenge nahin exam dene. They did not even mention word limit in essay in Hindi! Whole life at stake at the whims and fancies of UPSC.
I meant plan B
Hey I m also selected as po.n frm maharashtra … n thinking of joining … this was my 2nd upsc attempt and cud nt clear my 2nd upsc mains … lil worried.. will bank job affect the study????
If you want Bank Job to affect your preparations then yes it will affect but if you have strong determination then in any job you can clear it .UPSC CS 2010 topper was S.Divyadarshini an employee of SBI and we all know how much work load is in SBI .So if she can then you can.All the best .I also cleared PO 4 and will study with job .
divyadarshini madam was an assistant in sbi and that to in zonal office so clearly the work load was less .As far as my knowledge and experience goes the job of PO is much more tougher in terms of the nature and variety of assignments both during probation and post-confirmation.Moreover long duty hours and place of posting adds to the trouble. So bank PO job definitely not advisable as far as UPSC preparation is concerned.Your starts at around 8/8.30 in the morning and may end latest by 7.00pm.Your brain nerves no longer remain active and receptive for UPSC study.Another big problem is that of leave during preparation and pre-examination phase.I have not seen anyone getting through UPSC exam during my 3 years stint as Bank PO.For some it has become possible only after resigning from bank job only.SSC jobs are certainly more preferable and suitable in this regard.
Unfortunately PO jobs are hectic….bank clerk jobs are good for the preparation of UPSC_______
IS MPPSC PRE EXAM is on 9th MAY ? from where we can download admit card.
