no daily rain in svanna….post descibe the climate of day and said it is true for all day..we can’t say same climate through out the year….read the question then equatorial and then savanna yu will feel the difference…150-200cm can occur in few months…not necessarily uniformly distributed throughout the year
Ans is equatorial… Savannah is not having rainfall on daily basis..it has a big dry spell before rainfall hits it..and when rainfall occurs it is more like continuous which brings sometimes a flood like situation

Mani! are you sure that you are getting 118 marks. how can you be sure? you can only be sure of your marks if your calculation is based on questions for which every coaching institute is giving same answer as they can be termed as sure and easy questions. For rest of the questions even coaching centers have different answers. if you have considered those controversial questions also then its not fair judgment because mostly people consider their answere as correct even if one coaching center has backed that answer.

Hi, I’m new to UPSC it was my first attempt can you please how to calculate your marks. i answered 64 , 20 are wrong.
Attempted 64, Wrong 20 so Correct 44
Marks are
44X2 – 2/3X20 = 74.67
Gun powder had been introduced way back in bahmani kingdom in struggle with Vijay nagar empire and later portugaalis used in capturing goa..so in that que answer is only option 3
I attempted 66 Q’s, & I found the paper to be very easy compare to last tym. So, just after giving the exam I got the feeling that I will easily score 120+ or ~120 in GS-1. After calculating marks from different answerkeys (don’t depend on any single answerkey) + Google. I got ~(51-52 Q’s) correct. Some Q’s wrong because of my silly mistakes (in first round I marked the correct option but in 2nd round I changed my option which tend to wrong).
I am now getting 97 approx. I think its on the borderline as per different cut off’s (avg. = 90-120). Can I expect to clear prelims?
Now I am getting this feeling that if I had taken the risk of attempting more Q’s something around 80, my marks would have gone much higher. But because my teacher’s told us not to answer on the FEEL of the Q’s. I hadn’t attempted more Q’s

Dear Ravi..acoording to Neostencil website…here is the cut off prediction which is really sober and modest..
General Category: 102 ± 5
OBC: 95 ± 5
SC: 89 ± 5
ST: 85 ± 5
In your case there is highly likely chance if you are actually getting 85 to clear the exam. I dont know how you have come up to that (85). So i advice you to please check up two three answer keys to come up to the required marks. More so in case of contradiction between two answer keys please use internet to find the accurate answer. Or you may ask it here. All the best.

Eastward moment of equitorial counter current should be due to convergence of two equitorial currents.because when itcz comes on tibbat plateu,the easterlies (which moves towards east to west) change their direction (reversal of winds),and moves towards eastward and the current so!plz someone help
I wrote wrong ans sheet no. (Latter on corrected but darkened circle cant be earased)In data sheet provided by invigilator. What would be possible outcome?
Lol. I did the even better. I wrote roll number instead of answer sheet number. Irony is, I remembered in second paper.
I made this mistake too in hurry…and invigilator said it’s ok no need to correct it and he said to leave it as it is and dark the other circle…i asked him again will my answer sheet be rejected? He said no problem in this… I don’t know whether he was right…
I made this mistake last year….Still, I was able to clear the prelims…so take chill..

Does anyone has research on the “equatorial counter current ” question. I have not read any source stating clearly on the drivers for the direction. In Some loose references I have seen its due to rotation of the earth on its axis. Mostly I have seen the monsoon winds as the main driver. But this is not one of the option. Please share your thoughts

Whoever says that 14th FC has recommended sector specific grants, please spare a minute to read this article wherein you can see the exact sentence – “Fourth, desisting from awarding sector/state specific grants or to subject grants to conditionality.” This should make it clear beyond any doubt that 14 FC has NOT RECOMMENDED sector specific grants.

No buddy, it is specifically mentioned in the budget document of GoI that “FFC has not made any sector specific grant recommendations”
NO sector specific grants recommended by 14th Finance commission. Exact words are written in Economic survey 2015-16 Volume 1, Chapter 10 , page 131. It has been written there specifically as a separate bullet point.
