What to prepare for interview?

Some tips (from those comments)
- 60% on your biodata. (Why do you want to join IB? Educational background, terminology, hobbies)
- 30% on current issue (mostly national and regional. + some current related to neighboring countries from IB/security/terrorism angle.)
- 10% intelligence system of India.
- If you are not fluent in English practice it, as sometimes panel member may insist that you answer a particular question in english.
- For some people it was for 5 mins and for some it went upto 20 mins.
- In the panel, one member will be observing you and taking notes.

After Interview : if you are selected , Medical Test and Police Verification follows.
Documents to bring in interview
- Original certificates in support of age, educational
- qualifications (Matriculation onwards including mark sheets), other qualifications along with an attested photocopy of each of the documents;
- Original certificate in support of belonging to
- OBC/SC/ST/Ex-serviceman/J&K resident category issued from the competent authority in the prescribed proforma along with an attested photocopy thereof;
- Original certificates in support of claimed achievements in Sports/Games and other extracurricular activities along with an attested photocopy of each of the documents.
- A photo identity proof like voter ID card, PAN card, passport, driving license or any other valid proof to verify his/her identity.
- Candidates belonging to OBC category and claiming benefits thereunder must bring their OBC certificate in the proforma meant for appointment to the posts under Government of India as published in the advertisement (copy enclosed) and not for State Government jobs. If they fail to do so, they will not be allowed to appear in the interview. Certificate in any other proforma will not be accepted in any case.
- One copy each of Attestation Forms (A.F.) and Special Security Questionnaire (SSQ) may also be downloaded which are required to be filled in by the candidate for carrying out Character & Antecedents verification wherever required. These forms may please be filled in for all the columns correctly and completely and in case the space provided in any of the column is not sufficient for furnishing the information sought, the candidate can utilize an extra sheet. This is, however, made clear that issuance and filling up of the attestation form (AF) and SSQ at this stage does not mean that the candidate has been or would be necessarily selected to the post of ACIO-II/Exe. The duly filled in AF and SSQ forms are required to be deposited by the candidate on the day of interview.
- The candidate is advised to bring this interview letter without which he/she would not be allowed entry. It may be made clear that no request for change of date and place would be entertained.

police verification/i.b verification are one another same. as i.b department is having there own verification. there is no special verifiction by police department. for me one i.b official came and enquired all details.

THE I.B OFFICIAL CALLED ME TWO DAYS BEFORE AND HE TOLD GET READY WITH ALL DOCUMENTS. THEY HAVEN’T MENTIONED ANY MDCL DATE.

I am also confused whether to join IB or not. Is ACIO job better than IB? Can you tell me the pros and cons of both the job? Will you join IB or not?

Hi biker..my ib verification started 2day..one ib official visited my house. .I m 4m delhi.
I am from Chandigarh but living in Vadodara. So gave exam at Ahmedabad and Interview at Mumbai. IB officials visited my place at both places I.e. Chandigarh as well as Vadodara. They even went to my wife’s office as when they visited my place in Vadodara, she was at work. Also came to know from my chacha that they even visited my village that is around 40 Km from Chandigarh. They said that they’ve been told to complete verification asap so we should not need to wait too long for joining letter. Even the people who come for verification don’t know much details about joining.

hi friends…3 days back got a call from an IB person who had done verification at my permanent address in Tirupati. Asked me questions regarding the details from SSQ form by phone, as i am currently working in chennai. Said verification from that side is over and personnel from the department may come to verify at the present address in chennai and or the office at where i work. The person was very cool and polite and congratulated me for clearing the exam and wished me best of luck for the things ahead.
The person stressed on not to hide any facts/details and said the med exam, call for training would be very soon and asked me to be prepared for the same. And that person asked to keep ready all documents and photocopies ready including marksheets and caste certificates(as applicable) ready, so that if the people who come for verification ask for them then may produce them. Also while reporting for training they may ask for the same in particular.
@abc Sir, can you tell me your location and exam registration number so that we can get an idea of which order they are choosing for verification? I have wife and 1 kid, so we are waiting very anxiously

@vikram & Sanjay – am at present in chennai & am working in an MNC and my domicile residence is here too, my permanent address is in AP. my reg no is in the 1st page of the results pdf file for sure. i come under the General category. i cant say exactly which is my num as i cant remember my regno exactly as i kept the interview call letter etc at home. so will update when i go home and check. But the above details are 100% correct i can assure you.
But friends, It seems they are covering numbers in no specific order – but by grouping the numbers region/place wise in order to cover them as a whole in batches etc for ease of going thru. One of my friends from bangalore was saying the same, based on his & his friend’s verification coverage.
— Friends, as per what Mr.Fighterclass had said earlier, its their responsibility to conduct verification. Its natural to feel nervous unless contacted by them as I felt the same too. But we can never say or predict in which way they are covering things exactly. I would suggest to keep the documents ready and keep info handy esp reg addresses, qualifctn, emp details, info abt close relatives/siblings & those of people living abroad (I was asked particularly abt this)

hi sat it is not mandatory if your belongings(family members) reply well whatever the ib personnel asks them and inform to ur parents to provide yhem some contact number of yours so that ib men from delhi may contact u . hope ur query is answered. futher r u a civils aspirant ?
IB went for the verification of my family members….without my verification…..The reason may be that I have changed my address….They verified my elder brother residing in Kolkata…I am from delhi…. I am still waiting for them to contact me first for any explaination
This process of random verification is only adding to our miseries, the ones who got verified are crying to postpone their joining and one’s like me are waiting anxiously to get verified.
Too much of secrecy, there needs to be some sort of transparency regarding recruitment.

yesterday i visited one of the IB offices…. the response i received was great. i have inquired about the facilities and work profile… primarily work profile is to collect the data on given task (communal political aspects), training is for 6 months and it is not necessary to post u in the border area at initial posting…

an IB officer after calling at my cell came to my house, asked me abt all the original documents and took copies of those n of my aadhar card. He asked me question regarding my interview,my address,some very small things like nick name, behavior and inquired abt even my relatives like uncle-aunt, bua -fufa and many more.
He told me some interesting things abt training like it can stretch 6-12months in sm cases. there r 4 training venues in India 4 IB personnel.
IB will decide to alot a particular core to a trainee. He told me that it will take minimum 3 months to b called 4 training.

he didn’t clearly mentioned whether 3 months wait 4 training is for 1st batch or for me only. but i’ll tell u when will confirmed.

verification is still on the go. he called the person I hv mentioned in ssq form. 1st he will verify all the persons , addresses mentioned in form. then after 15 days he will submit his report. till now there is no sign of mdcl or joining letter.

Hello, I’ve few questions to ask friends, my verification ( including the routine police verification) got done 2 and half months back and I am yet to get my appointment letter.
Secondly, I’ve been selected from 2012 (waiting list) batch, as i was told by the IB officials who visited my house. so i was thinking if any 1 of my particular case received their letter or in general has any 1 received their letter from 2013 batch. and how do i approach them appropriately to know my case situation ?( if its possible to do ) thank you.

Need your help friends. I got selected as ACIO and verification is done on 11/06/14. Other then IB’s ACIO, I also got selected as Programmer (DoITC Rajasthan, Grade Pay – 4800), Administrative Officer (IT) in National Insurance, IT Officer in Bank of Baroda, PO in Punjab National Bank. Just joined on 02/06/14 as Administrative Officer (IT) in National Insurance (NICL). I am confused whether to join IB or not. Is ACIO job better than Programmer and AO? Can you tell me the pros and cons of IB? Suggest me friends.
i also got selected in NICL AO. Im joining IB as it is a more exiting job with more power. It is also an adventurous job. I dont want to sit behind a computer all my life.

NICL AO as it is more stable job ,u would be able to give time to your family and its salary and perks are higher than ACIO.Regards.

n how long does it take depends on them..once it is started n if they forward req doc n info 2 other depts on time. .verification will b done within 2 weeks or 3 weeks max..den medical..den joining..

my verification started. ib persons visited my eliar college school and they have collected all data about me . but they didn’t say we are from ib
And two persons also visited my home they interacted with me and family members and they collected information about my education .family etc. they asked passport number of my brother who living in abroad. but they also didn’t say we are from ib and i understood local police also veryfied my address and collected information about me
