So make a resolute promise and devote your 2014 completely to achieve it. You’ve come this far- there is definitely to a decent career and life for you, Bas Ek baar man banaa lo—yaa toh mein iss paar, yaa uss paar ho jaaungaaa and let 2014 be that year. My prayers and best wishes have always been and shall always be –with every serious player.

Congratulations. Interviews likely to start from 7th April 2014 @UPSC headquarter in Delhi. You’ll get a call letter soon. UPSC will also update the timetable on its website.
In the meantime, start a Ph.D on your DAF form inside-out. Be it location based questions, or graduation based, or current or theory. Even wasting one minute is a sin.
Marksheets
UPSC will upload mark sheets of all candidates within 15 days after the declaration of final result i.e. after interview. The marksheets will stay there for 60 days. (and if last year’s system continues – then even candidates who failed in prelims, will be shown their prelim-scores and cut-offs.)
Call letters
- candidates who do not receive communication regarding their Personality Test, should immediately – contact the office of the Commission through letter or on Phone Nos. 011-23385271, 011-23381125, 011-23098543 or Fax No. 011-23387310, 011-23384472.
- No request for change in the date and time of the Personality Test intimated to the candidates will be entertained.

I am a software engineer and left job 2 yrs back.
I couldn’t make it and It was my 2nd attempt. Yesterday i ws highly upset n my family too gt very emotional. late night i thot to visit mrunal site.Read many of comments and found many of us couldnt make it. Bt the best thing wch mesmerised me was their hope. I too m garnering up courage from these aspirants cum frnz.Thanku guys unknowingly u have boosted my energy.I need to reassess my startegy and recalibrate it.I know Mrunal is always there for me and many like us.

Like you, I too had left my job @TCS 2 years back…I have written 2 attempts so far and haven’t even cracked prelims yet..Worse I haven’t cleared preliminary round of any competitive exam (may be Prelims Phobia) since I left my job!! But I realize that it is a part and parcel of life and an opportunity for me to bring about +ve changes in myself which will stay with me for the rest of my life which will matter the most ultimately to me..
I also left my job in a p.s.u.This was my 2nd attempt but could not clear.What to do?This is life.Have to work harder as left with no other option.Feeling very depressed as I was xpcting a call this time

sirr i hv doubt regarbing attempt….i hv attemptd prelims with my details wrong unfortunately…..bt i dint qualify….my question is about no. of attempts…in upcoming notification i will apply with correct details….while applying what should i place no.of atempts whether 1 r 2?….please any 1 ans clarify me
Depends on which details you entered wrong in your first attempt…. If it was anything other than the critical ones that identify a candidate (eg. name, father’s name, date and of birth..), your attempt would be counted…
I have the same doubt I entered my correct name but not in the same sequence as in my 10th marksheet.
I wrote first name and last name.
Marksheet has it as last name, fathers name and my first name

@Anil Hasani : You said that you guess pub ad is a bad choice, why do you think so? Since the weight-age in optional has come down, I personally felt that choice of optional in scoring will be limited. Share how you gave your paper on Pub Ad.

I also appeared with zoology optional but couldn’t make it. I was not hopeful though because my zoology paper 2 was ruined.
I was considering to change my optional, but I actually love the subject, so I think it will be a bad idea instead I should try to improve it.

@neha ji: Mne is zoology just one advice don’t change optional as u have to resart the new optional. just improve the weak areas and prepare accordingly as u knw ur paper 2 is weak as it is vast also.

The irony is my paper 1 was new for me, and I have read almost all topics of paper 2 in my graduation. I got almost two months to prepare for mains and dedicated whole time to GS. So, I wasn’t even expecting anything. This year I am going to give enough time to my optional. Just want to know the strategy like which books are good, how much depth is required for each topic, test series or coaching material valuable (if any), what kind of answers to be written, I mean how different the answers should be from what we write in our degree exam?

Coudnt clear it…It ws my 2nd attempt.I too was very hopeful this time.But One cant blame upsc uncertainty principle.Somewhere my strategy to crack mains was not up to the mark and hav to assess it. Feeling so very low from yestrday onwards.

Mrunal sir could u please confirm whether SSC CGL-2014 exam is postponed see this link http://www.w3s.in/2014/03/ssc-cgl-revised-exam-dates.html, but official site says nothing. any info. waiting for your reply with a bated breath.
It seems that Mr.Rajan has posted in his twitter account that re-examination of SSC 2013 will be held by the end of April. So it is very clear that SSC CGL 2014 will not be as per notification schedule. I speculate that mostly it will not be before election results.
