So make a resolute promise and devote your 2014 completely to achieve it. You’ve come this far- there is definitely to a decent career and life for you, Bas Ek baar man banaa lo—yaa toh mein iss paar, yaa uss paar ho jaaungaaa and let 2014 be that year. My prayers and best wishes have always been and shall always be –with every serious player.
@Those who cleared the mains-2013
Congratulations. Interviews likely to start from 7th April 2014 @UPSC headquarter in Delhi. You’ll get a call letter soon. UPSC will also update the timetable on its website.
In the meantime, start a Ph.D on your DAF form inside-out. Be it location based questions, or graduation based, or current or theory. Even wasting one minute is a sin.
Marksheets
UPSC will upload mark sheets of all candidates within 15 days after the declaration of final result i.e. after interview. The marksheets will stay there for 60 days. (and if last year’s system continues – then even candidates who failed in prelims, will be shown their prelim-scores and cut-offs.)
Call letters
- candidates who do not receive communication regarding their Personality Test, should immediately – contact the office of the Commission through letter or on Phone Nos. 011-23385271, 011-23381125, 011-23098543 or Fax No. 011-23387310, 011-23384472.
- No request for change in the date and time of the Personality Test intimated to the candidates will be entertained.

I am going to appear in 2014 prelims but still confused with the optional history, public ad, political science
Political Science, As it covers much GS Syllabus too.
But even public ad and history have coverage even in GS!
i like history but it is very vast
i am thinking of public ad coz it may be useful further
political science fascinates me though haven’t read a single paragraph from it…same goes for public ad

Could not clear mains with Geography… geo-p1 was very tough and then now it seems the evaluation is even tougher!!!!! many of my friends who apeared with geo and socio could not clar it… it seems literature is a safe bet!! Thinking of changing the optional…..

Hmm.hind medium very poor result.don’t know why upsc has problm with hindi background or rather say poor student
Don’t know about this time…but last year rank-8 was from hindi medium…she cleared in her first attempt,even after getting low marks in interview…her name was vandana

hi friends myself satyendra . i got through CS(M) 2013 in my second attempt. Last year i appeared for IFS interview in P.K.Mishra’s board .i scored 190 in interview but couldn’t get through the final list due to poor performance in one of my optional which was agriculture. my second optional was botany with it i appeard this year in cs mains. My hobbies are chess ,cricket and reading urdu poetry. plz share some probable questions on these hobbies , specially on cricket. Last year in IFS interview there were not many que on my hobbies but then i had mentioned only chess and cricket.
I m very afraid of questions on cricket as some of my friend told me that since almost everybody mention cricket most of the board are very harsh when it comes to asking on cricket.Plz share ur thoughts and experience .it will be very helpful for me in my interview this time . Thanx.
