@Those who cleared the mains-2013
Congratulations. Interviews likely to start from 7th April 2014 @UPSC headquarter in Delhi. You’ll get a call letter soon. UPSC will also update the timetable on its website.
In the meantime, start a Ph.D on your DAF form inside-out. Be it location based questions, or graduation based, or current or theory. Even wasting one minute is a sin.
Marksheets
UPSC will upload mark sheets of all candidates within 15 days after the declaration of final result i.e. after interview. The marksheets will stay there for 60 days. (and if last year’s system continues – then even candidates who failed in prelims, will be shown their prelim-scores and cut-offs.)
Call letters
- candidates who do not receive communication regarding their Personality Test, should immediately – contact the office of the Commission through letter or on Phone Nos. 011-23385271, 011-23381125, 011-23098543 or Fax No. 011-23387310, 011-23384472.
- No request for change in the date and time of the Personality Test intimated to the candidates will be entertained.

best of luck for interview.
The candidates will be required to produce the original certificates in support of their claims pertaining to age, educational qualifications, community, physical handicap and other documents such as Questionnaire, Attestation Form and TA Form, etc. at the time of their Personality Test.
ye sab kaha se milenge.

Hi,
I have been trying to collect 10 people who have cleared the CSM and want to protest against the pattern of examination on the following points
1. The CSM does not test the quality of a manager
2. CSM can select clerks at the best not the managers
3. The candidates selected through such a pattern may not be capable of handling the responsibilities assigned to IAS / IRS etc.
UPSC has an important task of selecting the IAS but the pattern of CSM was not as per the required traits of a manager / IAS.
So, we need to put a “Representation to UPSC” to get the pattern changed. Defense forces does not compromise on quality, then why does UPSC cave in to such a compromise. UPSC is failed to create a good test pattern. I have previously written about this to UPSC several times, which I am enclosing along with this mail.
Please spread the word.

mr. lucky ,how you define the pattern of selecting ias/ips mains?. it seems that you are from coaching institute who have not creative brain insted of crammer things filled in your brain. thats why you are advocating pattern according to the oldone which was based on cramming(rattafication). so stop this nonesense and please focus on your interview rather than this type of sluggish activity. and what do you know about defence forces quality ? their written exam is low standard and almost everyone can clear it. main object is only clearing ssb interview. i had seen many empty mind cleared interview by only doing fish market type noise in gd etc. so you wants that type of interview based pattern .i had given cds defence exam and interview thats why i knew and telling to you brother. be focus on your interview and makes your familiy and yourself pride. donot indulge in this type of activity. be focus in your study.
Completely agree. Rote learning is something which will never bring good people in the administration. I think the new pattern is the best from every angle.
Perhaps u misunderstood me. I am vouching for open book exams.
Bhai abhi ke liye u must concentrate on u r interview only …..yeh sab cheez ke bare mein baad mein sochna… u r parents must have high expectations from u dont let them down for these type of things.Dont feel bad but u should think of interview only…getting selected for interview in CS is not a small thing ….give u r 100%, u r just one step behind to be a civil servant and dont indulge in these things…Best of luck
Why should we need to concentrate on interview. One need not prepare for a good interview. I have given so many interviews with Management Consulting firms, Investment banks, PE VC firms, their interviews dont need preparations. That is why they are the one who are attracting the cream right now. Believe me, the cream does not go to IAS any more.
Why should we be selfish and opportunistic? Why should we not think about the fellows, who are really capable as managers but could not clear a clerical exam …ie CSM. Even their parent may have high expectations. By the way, my parents are not aware about my attempt at UPSC.
I think i prepared for 7-10 days for Mains and yes, even 7-10 days is a lot of time, but i dont think getting to interview stage is a big thing, even if it is not small.
What is the use of being in Civil Services, if we dont have the courage to question, courage to demand fairness for all. We will be again join that rotten system and get rotten on the way and finally retire one day after being fully rotten ourselves. I dont say that this is valid for 100% but for sure valid for 99%. I personally dont see any use of being in civil services, if we can not have enough courage to question someone or demand for fairness.
I just have one more candidate with me, who cleared CSM. I am waiting for more. Please spread the word.

outerdelhitimes@gmail.com
This year i cudnt even clear prelims but next year i will be Civil service topper
Hi all,
This is an invitation to all those, who have been selected or not selected. I am myself selected but I feel this written exam is not fair. This exam can select a clerk not a manager.
We are organizing a protest against the mains exam. Please send me a message on outerdelhitimes@gmail.com for schedule of protest in front of UPSC.

Lucky

What do you advocate? How to choose an administrator?
I advocate that there should be negative marking marking in interview. Also, interviewers should be from serving managers or ias rank. They should not be professors or academicians. They should know how ro judge the stress taking capabilities in real life situations. Why should UPSC compromise on quality when Army does not. Are IAS officers supposes to be inferior to Defence officers.

Lucky..
7 to 10 days for mains.. This is awesome. Do help us how to go about it too..
I think with few limited posts and a sea of aspirants applying its impossible to conduct an open book exam. They are constantly reengineering the present pattern, but you see it’s not a cakewalk to make any change acceptable to the indians. They had to take back some of their proposals last year and also they have increased the no of attempts now. So changes should be practical and gradual. Revolutionary changes can’t be expected.
Coming to your interview point as a sureshot test of personality. It doesn’t hold true. Each interview is different and each board is different and the impressions you make and the moods timings everything is different. You cant have an ideal interview for one and all. Real feel is quite different from a manipulated scenario in an interview. You are their to sell and so is everyone else. I personally havent given any SSB but i guess it should not be just about an interview..!!
IAS officers shouldn’t be compared with defence officers. Ias are inferior to dreamdesigner politicians! This is a sad truth.
As someone else has suggested. Kudos for clearing mains with such minimal efforts!!!! Go for the interview full heartedly. Best of luck. :)
u prepared mains in 7-10 DAYS and cleared it???
bhai,u must have some supernatural powers…kindly share
.
P.S…..bhai ab aur kuch nahi bolna, bahut ho gaya
Sorry was travelling and hate usung the mobile phone for commenting. Yes, i prepared for 7-10 days only. Yes, I took an optional, which I never studied previously in my life. Yes, i was uncertain about the optional till last date. Infact i forgot to fill up DAF and got reminded only when date was extended. To be honest, even I was surprised because I used to be on conference calls in between lunch breaks during exams. I used to sit my assistant almost daily and used to have intense work schedules during exams. But this does not denote anything as I am perhaps good at memorizing and may be writing…..as this exam don’t test managerial skills.
If u want to discuss more drop me mail at outerdelhitimes@gmail.com
Please contact Mr. Rahul Gandhi.
keep your mouth shut mr. lucky . you only wants that upsc again starts the old one crammer type and sluggish and coaching type exam format , so for god sake and and for poor people who wants to prepare from selfstudy donnot do any type of kidding things against upsc. and last thing you have not cleared mains ,otherwiseyou were not saying this rubbish. thinks once again.
I am not saying UPSC go back to the old question type. Instead i am saying the opposite, UPSC should frame open book questions. There should be no cramming based questions. Open book questions would put up lot of cignitive load on both examiner and the candidate.
Seconly, i have cleared it in my first and last attempt. Roll no 215319
It is not about me or u, its about everyone.
what is open book question? please elaborate.
Open book means – You can take 2-3 books at the max and then questions would be something which test application and not memorization. This is very common pattern in many TOP MBA and Engineering schools.
Infact some subjects such as Engineering design can not be tested otherwise.
how can u say mr lucky that it was ur last attemt since there has been age and attempt limit extension of 2 years from 2014 onwards..i m saying this as i seriously doubt ur selection and ur roll no.
What differences you find when you compare previous syllabus with the current one. DO YOU THINK that mugging up facts for 20-30 times from the books and pasting it on the exam made a better administrator? No disrespect to any SENIOR player. Personal view- This one is better when you take into account that GS needs all round understanding and knowledge of various issues.
Mrunal , I have cleared the mains and have to appear for Interview. I didnot take any coaching and wish to prepare on my own for interview too. But I don’t want to leave any stone unturned for best possible preparation. Please tell me -Are mock Interviews really helpful? if yes, Which is the best one to get guidance from?
