I’ve closed the comment system, because aspirants wasting too much time in debate, rather than studying.

Mrunal Sir, whats your opinion? Haven’t heard anything from you on this issue.
Deepali ji, i live in dis country only but as u r saying ias is a mean to end their poverty n misery den sorry to say ias is a means for corruption for dem to earn crores of rupess like joshi couple etc etc to raise dere social status n earn money. Poverty ko end karney ke liye aur bhi kai jobs hai. N first off all those ppl who give dis exam are not so so so poor as u r claiming . I myself a middle class person. Aur ias ki salary is just class one employee salary ie 50000 app at starting. So itni hi poverty door karni hai to why to give exam . So many options r dere. Ias ban ke corruption kara , social status ko increase karney ke liye any community ke logon naukri lagwana, promotion dilwana etc etc favour karna….. Kya idiotic logic hai.
Childhood dreams se kuch nahin hota …. Efforts karney padte hai… Dis is d beauty if merit. Otherwise ias with ur perspective ll only breed corruption n inefficiency, moreover promote it after all have raise dere poverty n status. For dese problems it require political solution and not the emotional one !!

All the people who are facing problem in downloading admit card as part of showing message that your part 2 is not completed so you are not candidate for this exam as collective effort is rquired for this remedy…. https://www.facebook.com/groups/260699937456735/
My Recommendation for IAS exam . It should be like a TNPSC Group-I Services Preliminary., i.e., 200 questions 3 hours. Out of 200 questions 50 questions Mental Aptitude. Question papers in English and the Language chosen by the candidates. Main Exam also like TNPSC main Exam, i.e., only General Studies Papers and Interview. No optional.
Join this communtiy https://www.facebook.com/groups/260699937456735/members/…..It can benifit us…
How are you able to download the admit card??? It is showing some error while downloading by IDM
It will keep on showing error while downloading through IDM. to download it, keep pressing “alt” key and then click on download button… keep pressing it until download starts..
Yes If once IDM download failed it will show message like “some pages dont allow to download same file twice”… After so many attempt like this lastly I downloaded with another PC without any problem.
Once Hitler told that if you thought any rule is not fair, follow that rule raise yourself to pinnacle and change that rule.
In my country there are two different countries one Bharat and other India.
The problem is only India makes rule and bharat has to follow it.
Some of my bharat friends got opportunity to make some change but they converts themselves into india.
And 90% of IAS IFS IPS IRS IFos are corrupt. And again 95% of these aspirants are corrupt.
Kaun kisko kahe.
Upsc uploaded the calendar of examinations for the year 2015.prelims oin august
Dude (Kartik) … sorry but tumse na ho payega…
1. Tumhe pata bhi nhi hai matter kya hai…???
2. Tumhari isliye lag rahi ki tumhe lagta hai ki agar ye demand man li jayegi to tumhare liye problem hai… agar aisa nhi to phir tumhe problem hi nhi honi chahiye kyuki agar level playing field hota hai tumhara kya loss hai…tumhe kis baat ka darr …agr itne hi hard working ho to kisi se bhi compete kar sakte ho … dere is nothing to fear about …
3. Tum merit ki baat kar rahe the… to merit tab matter karti hai jab sabko equal chance mile…
4. Agar tum bol rahe ho ki ” Childhood dreams se kuch nahin hota …. Efforts karney padte hai… Dis is d beauty of merit. ”
to Dost tumne bahut galat field me ho…
5. tum Deepali ke jis logic ko” idiotic logic” bata rahe ho wo logic tumhare samjh me hi nhi aaya hai…. wo money ke bare me baat nhi kar rahi wo bol rahi thi unki family kitna sacrifice karke unhe padhati hai aur wo sirf isliye fail ho rahe kyuki usne Govt. School me padai ki hai…
wo log koi favor ya benefit nhi mang rahe hain …dey r asking for justice n level playing field … dats it !!! Is it really dat difficult to understand ???
6. Tumhari mentality pe taras aa raha hai… tum ye bol rahe ho ki ye log Ias ban ke ” corruption, logon ki naukri lagwana, promotion dilwana etc etc favour karna ” kya ye sab sirf hindi medium wale log karte hoge…. yaar tum ho kaha se… sorry par tum jaise log abhi bhi hai… jo itne insesnsitive hain ….jinhe abhi actually problem hi nahi pta hai …
7. n u r talking abt “poverty door karne k dusre tarike like whatsapp jaise app bnao” n all … yaar ek baat btao app kon bna payega …jisne engg ki ho atleast wahi apps bna payega so obviously wo un logo me se to nahi hai q k use to itni english aati hi hogi …
8. aur tum jo baat kar rahe ho ki childhood dream se kuch nahi hota … to ek student hai jisne apne bachpan se hi IAS banne ka sapna dekha hai or wo usi field me jaana chahta hai … usi field k through logo k liye kaam karna chahata hai q k usne wo chize khud face ki hain …sirf isliye ki use english utni acchi nahi aati to wo apna dream chod k koi aur job q choose kare …tumne b to 10th grade tak hindi padhi hogi …par kya tumhe utni acchi hindi aati hai jitni ek hindi medium k student ko aati hogi … nahi na ?? agar hindi me tumhe upsc ka exam dena pade to tum utna accha kar paoge jitna accha wo log kar payenge … or unko problem english se b nahi hai q k agr english se problem hoti to phir to mains me bhi to english ka exam hota hai par usse to kisi ko koi prob nahi hai .. prob hai to sirf exam k biased hone se … jo ki tum bhi acche se jante ho ki csat ka exam har eng medium k student k liye cakewalk hai …
bhai dilip, ho to tumse bhi nahi payega
“wo sirf isliye fail ho rahe kyuki usne Govt. School me padai ki hai”
aur kitne din yesab bekar ka mentality leke dusro ko koste rahoge. maine bhi puri zindagi sarkari school aur sarkari colege mein padhai ki hai par mereko kabhi aisa nahi laga ki sirf govt school mein padhne ke liye mere koi exam mein selection nahi hoga
aur tumhara second point on level playing field; agar ek science student ko hons level ka history, geo, sociology, pol sc, ethics etc etc padhna padhta hai to ek humanities student ko agar class 10 ka maths karna pada to konsi unlevel playing field ho gayi??
btw main bhai gaon se hun aur jaise bataya so called “govt-school educated” hun, mere family mein aajtak koi class 12 se age nahi padha lekin maine iit bhi nikala, iim bhi nikala aur itna confident hun ke civils bhi nikal lunga kyunki results syllabus pe nahi apne khud ke mahnat pe depend karta hai.
haa bhai bilkul nikaal loge IIT se ho , IIM se bhi ho….tumhi logo ko to plate me rakhkar diya ja raha hai ye exam…..pre me CSAT kar lo sirf….mains me har paper me 60 number le aao kyunki waha to muqabala sirf tumhare jaise hi logo se hoga…sab 60-70 number wale hain……selection to ho hi jayega…..CSAT hatne do ya qualifying hone do….mai to keh raha hoo CSAT ko hatao mat sirf qualifying kar do…….hum sirf tumse isliye peeche reh ja rahe hain kyunki CSAT me merit ban rahi hai……ek baar kuch positive change hone do phir dekhte hain kaun race jeeta hai…..BTW I m also a English medium Humanities graduate….
Agree with @Neel. If one can study hons level subjects for preparation then why there’s problem with 10th level english? ( that too when people have been already given 2 extra chances!). Everyone is weak in one or other subject. Agree comprehension translation issue should be addressed but that does not mean whole csat is scraped.
One more thing I fail to understand that if there is no problem with English in SSC (Tier 1 50 marks english and tier 2– 200 marks compulsory!), Bank exam or similar other exams where English is compulsory n comparatively tougher then why problem with 10th level comparatively easier English of UPSC???
P.S. I myself have been a hindi medium student in school. Grad through distance learning.
Csat gone.
http://www.dnaindia.com/india/report-government-will-soon-take-a-call-on-changing-syllabus-for-upsc-exams-2005711
Is this the way you read something and draw conclusions? where in the article it is written that CSAT gone? It was a meeting to find solutions to resolve the crises. No decision as yet on whether to change syllabus and scrap CSAT or continue with the same syllabus. Don’t spread rumors.
thats why csat paper is necessary.
Ha ha ha
Bhai tumne to kah ke le li
Dada, jabardast point mare ho :)
Correct. That’s why we need CSAT. To infer correctly from a given passage and draw true conclusions. No wonder why this fella is urging for CSAT to be removed.
really…unfortunately Mrunal sir doesn’t provide ‘LIKE’ button here!!!
Stupid guys, instead of scraping CSAT, they should’ve demanded age relaxation till 40 yrs & no limitation on no. of attempts.
Just 40 y not 60 …LOL :)
sm one has any document or file related to bali conference of last yr.? or can sm provide a link,m nt able to understand the whole issue.if smone hs pdf document of whole wto issue, this bali conference plz mail at vinca.rosea2248@gmail.com
Economic survey pg-132 and 133
I completely support ur argument Kartik. There is no need to scrap CSAT. In old days(pre-CSAT era), qualifying prelims was based on a very simple funda “RATANT VIDYA SHIROMANI”…….which means that to qualify prelims one needs to be an expert mugger. Specially, candidates who found it easier to mug the facts and figures of their humanities optionals, they were the ones who qualified prelims. The present format of CSAT demands optimum comprehension ability , analytical skills and class 10th level mathematics. This has defintly ensured that muggers are kept out of the second level of the examination process. And as expected this has not gone well with the muggers who heavily relied on this archaic methodology of “mug-and-vomit”. The very intrinsic folly with their current agitation is their unwillingness to adapt with the examination process. On the other hand, they wish to dictate the examination process on their own terms. Now, there are some genuine arguments for candidates from humanities background i.e. translation from english to hindi passage, compulsory questions from English which definitely needs to be addressed. But scrapping the CSAT itself is a bogus demand. Introduction of CSAT was a revolutionary step by UPSC, and every genuine aspirant(hindi or non-hindi medium) will support this. CSAT has ensured that candidates with a minimum threshold aptitude enter the mains level and encouraged students from management to take civil service as career option. CSAT should prevail, else, administration will remain plagued due to the unworthy muggers
even memorizing is a tough task!
Well said! Even good memory is a sign of sharp mind. And I am not unaware of hw these technical students also, especially engineers of second rung engineering colleges, mug up yhe things night b4 the exam. And if they are so good at analysis, as opposed to mugging up, why are the mains cutoffs going down.
Hahaha…frusteyao nahi mooraa….engineer dont mug up as much as students of humanities…though they are brilliant as well :P !!!!
When CSAT was introduced it was held that it would enable to evaluate candidates on the basis of the kind of values, morals and ethics they have inculcated and their aptitude which is suited for being a civil servant. The intention was right but the execution has gone wrong !!
1. In the old pattern the GS questions comprised of humanities subjects like history, polity, eco, geo and science subjects like physics, chem, bio and S&T and also general mental ability and reasoning questions. A little bit of current affairs also.
So the point is candidates could chose from a wide array of questions to choose. A person good in humanities would answer questions on such subjects with confidence and also the other areas with some extra effort and learning and a person with science background would have an ease over the science and maths n reasoning questions along with the other areas also. Hence, the marks would balance out. This was more like a level playing field. None of the aspirants had a problem with it.
Now what they have done is, they have taken out the whole chunk of GMA and reasoning questions from GS paper of the old pattern ( there used to be around 20-25 questions) and introduced them in paper 2 of CSAT with 2.5 marks over the 2 marks for GS paper 1. This is a clear advantage for candidates with proficiency in GMA and Reasoning.
If this is the basis for testing qualities of candidates required for a more dynamic role in the changing scenario in the country as civil servants then such qualities on the basis of such questions were being tested earlier also in the Old Pattern.
This was regarding was one part of the paper 2 of CSAT.
Your reasoning ability tells a lot about your ability to put a rational behind every decision you take so it is important as well.
ye tabhi to protest kar rahe hai. wapis rattafication karwane ke liye.
aur mujhe ye samajh nahi a raha ki south se ya north east se to koi protest nahi kar raha.to fir itna weightage kyun de rahi hai govt inhe??
kya india bas up or bihar take hi reh gaya hai??
Shayad haan::: “tumhe vo kaha-vat nahi suni kya ?? —
“Delhi ( To become pm) ka raasta Lucknow ( UP-80 LS seats) ho kar nikalta hai…”
If our government agrees the illogical, ridiculous demand of removing the csat paper then surely bure din aane wale hai for India bec yet again upsc is forced to recommend not so efficient and sound minded candidates
So the best thing the government could do is debar the agitating candidates from appearing for any upsc exams ….bec this would ensure that the next generation would not face the problem of ineffective ,inefficient bureaucracy which we are facing ….I personally seen these so called ias ,ips people selected based on the previous format of upsc exam not able to solve the basic problems the society faces …they are in the service just to get themselves rich at the cost of common people basic rights ….they don’t even possess common sense …logical reasoning, analytical capacity. .,scientific temper, interpersonal skills are very important for a civil servant ….upsc was evolving in a proper manner ..but any retrograde action by the government may effect this ….so let’s hope upsc is allowed to take independent decision without any political interference
My views r purely as a common man facing the apathy of the civil servants to problems faced in our city ….but not as a upsc aspirant
@Mohit : well said bro, every word of urs was true to the core. Every examination follows a distinct recruitment process to recruit suitable candidates. English comprehension and basic mathematical skills are intrinsic parts of numerous competetive examinations. Does that mean that every examination will have to change its procedure of selection so that these muggers can be selected. If CSAT is scrapped , I will file PIL claiming that forcing a constitutional body to change its methodology for these muggers, is ulta-vires.
I agree with u mohib, agr is bar govt ne in 25% logon ki is unjustice demand ko pura kia to phir baki 75% b strike pe aayenge
mahmood bhai..ye 25% bhi kaha hai???
media ko to bas kuch na kuch chahiye highlight karne ke liye.isiye lag raha hai.
aur inme se 90% ssc bhi dete hai side by side..jimse 50% weightage english ka hota hai mains me
to waise kaise prepare kar rahe hai??
KS GIll said an interesting thing is Rajya Sabha the other day..he said..there r many students of different languages who get selected into the civil services. if there is not a single language to communicate with them how do you think the administration wil proceed?..and the students from non-hindi medium will never accept hindi..as we have seen in the problems in official languages act..so why to create more problems in a system thats working ???
Radhe Shyam do kaam karna ek PIL apni gaand me dalna aur dusri apni maa ke .
for godsake dont tell me that u’re one of the aspirants……
@ RImple: I know u have an idiotic third class mind and a limited cognitive capacity, so ganwars like u will never understand even the situation at hand . Aur PIL daalne ki baat kar raha hai ,to pakka tune khud pe aur khud ki ma pe ye experiment kar rakha hai . Isliye my sympathy with u.
Radhe radhe shyam…… ab aye sahi line pe cognitive mind ko apni pichwale me daal ke baitho CSAT has gone .
Radhe bro , these are no one else but bunch of retards , i completed my schooling from a government school in hindi medium and still i brushed up my communication skills by putting some efforts ….rather trying to force upsc for accepting their irrelevant demands , they should put some effort in learning . it is preposterous to say that csat is bias to hindi medium students …apart from english comprehension all the questions are of general competition nature . infact all these kind of question are being asked in ssc n other banking exams …so u need not be an engineer for solving questions …
Introduction of CSAT was not a revolutionary step but a well-planned conspiracy by the bureaucrats & politicians, led by the son of Macaulay Sh. D P Ag, to get their children, most of whom study in elite institutions, into the civil services. It is intended to keep the rural masses, the common man, out of positions of power.
@Mrunal sir please feed us with some enlightened article because we are spending time these stupid comments each time we are logging in for some fresh articles.
exam postponed hone wali hai kya?
any updates regarding exam?
Kal ki news highlights ::
1. Prelims delayed
2. CSAT gone.
:-)
Bohot tympass chal raha hai….
The upsc shouldn’t remove csat, instead they must sort out mechanical translation which agitator claimed over it.
There is no mechanical translation. Its done by learned translators. There is rumors over this. Some ques may be not rightly translated but 99% are correct translation. And UPSC won’t scrap CSAT.
Aameen!!!
Aree yaar …even SC & ST are not demanding the scrapping of CSAT …
Yeh kya logic tha ?? Yahi aptitude apply karoge CSAT mein ??
This is solid example of need to aptitude @ civil service exam.
Matlab aptitude to “jati aur jan-jati (tribes) se jod kar diya….
Ya aapka
Bhaiyya ObC – General category ko kahe bhool gaye…
Baseless aurgument and thought process. Ya phir aapke hisaab se English aur maths … General/obs category waley he solve kar sakte…
Aapke vicharon ko padh kar humme dukh hua…
Aur anya blog readers ne abhi tak ispar aapni pratikriya ya virodh kyu nahi jahir ki ??
hahaahaha…sahi kaha GOOD bhai.!!
Good bhai ..sayad aap humara comment ka gist nahi samaj paye…
hum keh rahe the ki SC & ST relatively weaker hain general aur obc se is karan unka cut off bhi lower hai..
jab we bhi csat ka virodh nahi kar rahe to protest karne walon par sawal utha hai ….. vichar karne ki baat hai
cut off low hai na…………isliye sab chup hai….hahahaha
Pta nai aap sb logo ko kya ho gya h…
Concentrate on studies without commenting on any matter…upsc h na iss isaue ko solve krne k lie
The upsc shouldn’t remove csat, instead they must sort out mechanical translation which agitator claimed over it.
its nonsense whether other medium shuld have translation in their languge like kasmiri to tamil and gujrati to assami then paper shuld be of 500 pages.
other than bimaru states no one read in hindi and what about humanities students of other states they dont study in hindi or english.
Dear kishor bimaru state keval uske income status plus hdi performence vagairah ke karan kaha jata hai……. Use language se ralate na karo………
बस भी करो। दिमाग का दही कर दिया तुम सब ने। सब के सब लेक्चर दिए जा रहे हो। पढाई नही करोगे तो सरी भाषणबाजी एग्जाम में निकल जाएगी।

CSAT finding difficult???
—— Fight for removing it from the Exam Syllabus
GS finding difficult??
—— Fight for removing it from the Exam Syllabus
I dont want both GS and CSAT yaar…..
——- Give a Question paper to UPSC and ask them to give the same questions. Else do fasting to death on the streets of Delhi…
I belive in UPSC and they will always do the rights things irrespective of our demands.
All smart guys… Leave all this things behind and prepare for Exam we have only 26 days left.
Lets compare the previous pattern with current pattern.
Earlier there was 1 GS paper and one optional subject paper.
The demerit of the earlier pattern was that some optional paper were inherently easy. so to make the marks comparable across all the optional, process of scaling was adopted. The motive of adopting scaling process was to create the level playing field for all optional’s. This scaling process was a bit controversial and lacked transparency. To avoid that CSAT was introduced. Now there is no scaling process is done.
Earlier GS paper also included reasoning and mathematics problem.
Now, see the current pattern.
Paper1 GS and paper2 Aptitude
Nobody is having problem in Paper 1, so lets discuss about paper 2
Around 35-40 questions are related to math, reasoning, data interpretation etc. – most of the persons do not have any problem in these.
Around 5-8 questions are of decision making with no negative marking – again i think no problem.
Rest around 35-40 questions are of English comprehension – This is why there is agitation.
Basic points: –
a) translation is mechanical and doesn’t convey the same meaning as the English counterpart.
b) 5-8 questions are without Hindi translations.
Possible suggestion:
for (a) there is two possible solution:
1) convert the language more soulfully i.e. not by using translation software but by some Hindi expert person.
2) Don’t translate the English paragraphs instead provide separate Hindi comprehension with the same option as the answer. (this practice is adopted in some railway examinations) But there is catch here, this will give advantage to candidates knowing both Hindi and English as they can cross check their answer in case of doubt if time permits.
For (b) either it should be scrapped or no. of questions should be reduced or they should be made non negative.
These changes can be adopted for coming exam and then it can be debated whether CSAT should be scrapped.
Postponement of exam is difficult because of two reasons: 1) IFoS main exam has to be conducted in before IAS mains 2) postponement of CSAT will reduce the gap between CSAT and main exam which is not advisable.
sir ,if possible plz upload questions of enb for pre 14 ..
Mrunal Sir : Kindly upload Answer sheet for MPPCS 2014 held on 27 july 2014.
