The Union territories are all clubbed in one cadre: AGMUT (Assam, Goa and the Union Territories). Wishing for Delhi, you may end up in Tawang.

And what is so wrong about being posted to Tawang mr. Malik? Are the people there undeserving of basic services? I urge you to inculcate some sense of service to the nation if you want to get into this line, it is the ALL INDIA services mind you, not the NORTH INDIA services. Anyways, you will get regular transfers in AGMUT, whether it’s Delhi or Port Blair or Tawang. If you are not interested in leaving your frog well then better get into the state services.

Dude, don’t go for such kind of opinions regarding early promotions and all. We are here for service. Don’t bother such things and better put the cadre preference as per places you like and other conditions like climate, proximity to home, language etc or whatsoever you think is relevant. @Jeet… upsc do not ask certificate of prize. But be prepared for qst in interview on it.
@Jeet They will not ask for any other certificate apart from those mentioned in the instructions …like 10th certificate etc

could some one please clarify about the format needed for OBC quota , because there is a change – in the instruction manual , ie
note 2: creamy layer clause in case of OBC candidate must be as par OM No. 36033/1/2013 Estt(Res) dated 27/05/2013.
where as in the notification published in employment news it was not required : ie OM No. 36033/3/2004Estt(Res) dated 14/10/2008 was suffice .
please clarify will it be a ground for rejection as now its difficult to get a new certificate

OM No. 36033/1/2013 Estt(Res) dated 27/05/2013.
OM No. 36033/3/2004Estt(Res) dated 14/10/2008 are all Office Memorandum which are published as and when some changes in the policy takes place. As far as OBC are concerned, 2 changes take place, 1) Addition / deletion (never!) in list of OBC, 2) Income criteria for creamy layer.
If You have creamy layer certificate, then don’t worry about different OM no’s.

Rishab 1st year se final ki list ek mein ho to sahi rahega, it will just annoy them, still if any other has done same, and kaam chal gya to fir everything is good . Itni tension mat le, kuch b galat hua to upsc wale khud pareshan honge, is stage se kuch b cancel nahi hoga, except future medical test mein.

You have submit the same caste certificate, that you have mentioned in Prelims form.
we have to sign on each page of DAF at the bottom right corner or not…. they had provided the space for sign… also they have mentioned not to sign on summary page…
same doubt, dat summary sheet page.. i think not to sign. its mention in instructions.

The instructions say that you should fill in 0 in roll numbers’ place, if you don’t remember your previous attempt’s roll numbers.
the daf clearly says that if u dnt remebr the previous attempt roll no. then write “0”
While filling DAF portion for educational qualification what is the correct way to include MA qualification.. The portion is not getting saved n I m not being able to move to next portion of form filling up.. I tried filling u all required queries in MA portion.. Mehul,i read the document.they mentioned about ssc and graduation certificate.my doubt is whether provisional certificate is ok or is it necessary to send cmm.
Please someone resolve my following queries:
1. Under Educational Information, is anyone able to see the entire Name of Board/ University for Graduation in the drop down? If yes, please forward me the list. I am not able to locate my University name.
2. Also, if someone is still holding a private job, then under Employment Information, what to fill in “Period to” field? “Till Present” is not coming entirely. Any other option or something in specific if I am still holding this job?
3. Under Employment Info, it has been asked Whether you have been selected or applied for U.P.S.C? I have given CAPF-2014. Do I need to mention it over here? If yes, then what to fill in “Whether you were recommended for appointment?” as results are not yet out.
2. Better don’t opt to fill it or fill Oct 2014.

Ask for a scanned copy and take a printout and submit it. Get hold of the original after the mains exam.

but now im in a fix whether to submit provisional degree or try to get the original one

you can go ahead with provisional; but just think, its a 5 year difference, its like playing with 5th grade students when you already completed your secondary exams . play with your team man.
It will be accepted, at time of interview you have to produce the original (or whatever is criteria for final year student which i dont know and is not applicable to you) . If any problem arises they will call/email you (which has rare chances) . just put your signature on the xerox and write self attested.

You may be asked questions related to fitness in case you put jogging. And in case you happen to be slightly overweight (no offence intended) then you may not be comfortable answering those questions.

if you have a degree as a qualification, then YES. then you get a question about some foriegn degree etc.. mine is no. that’s it. rule 7 speaks about the degree qualification.

Last year I graduated and applied for CS but didn’t appear cos of job training. This year too I applied for engineering services and CAPF AC post but unfortunately was outside the state where my exam was scheduled so again couldn’t give them. I gave only CS this year now in employment section they are asking preivously ‘applied’ details which I don’t have cos I didn’t download admit card even. I only have registration number with me. Now what should I write there? I called Shri Imran farid’s number one lady told to leave it blank if you didn’t know. But there is no choice of leaving it blank. I called them again at 2 but no one picked up. Please someone clarify what should I write there? Some one told daf says put 0. Please tell me where it is written that. I couldn’t find it.

Thanks for the reply. Are you sure? Some guy wrote above its in daf to fill zero, I couldn’t find it.. Technically I didn’t appear for exam so it renders me ‘not appeared’ but this ‘applied’ word confuses me. Suppose if I leave it, is it going to affect my candidature except some drilling in the interview if I make it, I don’t want to get rejected on this ground at this stage.

brother, you need not to fill any detail in these columns if you haven’t appeared and signed the documents produced before you in the examination hall. signing the attendance sheet is counted as -candidate has taken exam.
Does Permanent Address refer to the one which never changes? Can it be changed in future?
Nothing’s permanent. A permanent address may also change at a later date. Eg migrating to a new place permanently.
What is considered permanent is that address which is highly unlikely to change in the foreseeable future.
MR.Abhay yes put 0 over there because attempts would only be count if you have given an attamept. i.e. if you have appered in exam. but if you didnt appear or signed the upsc exam attendence sheet in your examination centre, it will be considerd NULL no matter if you have dowloaded your admit card or went to centre to wish others.
