New development: You can’t change Optional-Subject, exam-Centre,, Indian Language paper (Paper-A) and Answer Medium. You’ll have to stick to whatever you choices made in the prelims application form. (Ref: Instruction PDF file, page no. 3.)
- Last date is 11th November. MAKE NO HASTE in filling this form. Thoroughly read the PDF files uploaded on that page.

I guess the statement “No Box Should be left Blank” is only applicable to service selection.It is not applicable every rubbish column out there. Kindly let me know in case of otherwise.

Does upsc ask for birth certificate at the time of interview?
Becoz i don’t have it and one of the column asks for the place of birth.

Degree certificate name matters. You can get corrections done in caste certificate if they raise a query. Nothing much to do now.

Your name will be what it is on your academic certificates. As far as the caste certificate is concerned, I think you will need to give an affidavit stating that both spellings refer to the same person. Nowadays many states have a photograph on the caste certificates, but I don’t know what’s the norm in your state. In case a photograph is there then your problems will be less. However the spelling of your caste name should match exactly the spelling given in the govt notification of backward/scheduled castes whatever the case may be.
By and large a change in spelling of a name which does not lead to a change in pronunciation of the name is understood to be due to translation from a regional language to English or vice versa and govt employers are not unaware of such problems and are helpful in this regard.

For OBC annexure 3 years IT return of your father is needed.For wealth or agriculture land you need to submit the document of Registration or Form 7/12 in case of persons from Maharashtra.Some record of Land needs to be produced.

hello folks…i am partially colour blind. have been blown off in the ishihara but other tests have been okay….a candidate of low colour vision. is it better i put ips and irts at the bottom of the list?? because anyway the inevitable will occur.
and do we have to take back to back printout of the annexures or will seperate sheets do?
i have a set of needed documents already attested by a gazetted officer for another exam..should i send it or a new set that is self attested???

I had given IFoS prelims last year (=CS Prelims), but while filling in ‘No of previous attempts’ column, I put ‘0’ (to be on a safer side), since I was going for Civils alone and not IFoS (I had mailed them for clarification, but there was no reply). Now in DAF, where they ask for “How many times have you appeared at the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination so far,including the current Examination held in August, 2014.”, what should I fill? Should i keep it = 0 only or change it to 1 as they’re also asking for previous years’ roll number in this form. Please advise on how to go about doing this?

Filling up the DAF for Mains 2014..back to back my third mains…………………….
yh educational qualification wale module m jha we rule 7 k under educational qualification ka puch rhr hai jiska proof bhi send krna hofa ..yaar wha kya krna hai yh rule 7 kya h…
my highest qualification is PhD and DAF is not accepting empty marks column or NA.
When i had filled prelims form, i had opted Delhi as centre for mains. However, due to some genuine reasons, i cant go to Delhi, rather i would opt for Cuttack in orissa. Now as per instructions, the centre filled in prelims form cant be changed….now m badly confused…can anyone please suggest any way out?
Generally they wont allow you. Now if yours case is of transfer to Cuttack meanwhile then you can fax them your application and transfer orders. It might help. Genuine has to be official in the eyes of UPSC. (Based on experience of my friend 2 years ago)
No way out. UPSC is pretty strict about centre preference, can’t change it now.
You can hope that very few students become eligible for mains from Cuttack centre. Then UPSC will automatically shift you elsewhere.
I am appearing from Cuttack, even I am praying that my centre changes.
Do we need to fill up every column religiously or the column fill up is only for service selection. Because there are hell lot of things for which i have no data, Like sports/NCC/blah blah, STD phone(Who uses them now).

In employment section, do we need to provide the details of our private employment (i work in IT company), from which i have not resigned, or we don’t need to mention the same.
Also there is a question that ‘Have you ever participated in any UPSC recruitment or exam’. Apart from UPSC CS, i have not written any other UPSC exam. Do we need to mention ‘Yes’, because CSE is handled separately for which we have questions like ‘which attempt’So what should be the answer for this?

in past i appeared in CDS EXAMINATION twice. i cleared written exams but was eliminated in the conference(SSB). I HAVE TO MENTION THIS OR NOT. or is it mandatory to mention about all the exams in which we appeared conducted by UPSC.
AND whats their logic behind querying about all exams .
I am unable to upload details of Post -graduation under Educational qualification heading . Even after filling the relevant details. Everytime it reads that ‘ please select at least one educational qualification commencing from Post- graduation ‘ . Anyone please help……….
