Can somebody solve Q 102, Q 103, & Q 117 of Question paper (055 NJ 6) of SSC CGL 2014.
I’ve tried a lot but these are pretty difficult….couldn’t solve them.
Anyone who thinks that their maths is good ought to try these.
103=3.75, 117=420
Q 103 ) As per the Question … you get this equation.. {1/(x+5)} + {1/x} = {1/(x-4)} … where x is time taken by B to fill the poll.. On solving the equation You will get x = 10.. Time taken by B to fill the pool is 10 hours .. so as per the question C takes 6 hours … Time taken by B and C together 1/{(1/10) + (1/6) } = 3.75 hours ..
Q 117) As per the Question .. TS = (T-1)(S+10) and TS = (T-1.75)(S+20).. T is Time, S Speed.. 45 mins is 0.75 (Don’t get confuse).. You get T = 7 and S = 60 if you solve those equations.. Distance is 60 * 7 = 420 Kms.. I haven’t seen the keys, so don’t know the answers. Let me know if they are not correct.
Will try to answer Q102 when I get time..
Q 103
LET C DO IT IN X HRS THEN A=X+9 AND B=X+4
1/C=1/A+1/B
1/X-1/(X+9)=1/(X+4)
X=6 AND B WILL FILL IN 10
SO 1/6+1/10=8/30
SO ANS 3.75
FOR Q 102
LET C DO IT IN 2X HRS THEN A=X+6 &B=X+1
1/C=1/A+1/B
SOLVING WE GET X= 2/3& -3
-3 CANT POSSIBLE SO 2/3 IS THE ANSWER
Q 117
T=D/S SO T1=D/S+10 AND T2=D/S+20
T-T1=1
D(1/S-1/(S+10)=1………………..(1)
D(1/S-1/(S+20)=7/4……………..(2)
(1)/(2) GIVES U S=60
SO D WILL BE 420
Q 117
T=D/S SO T1=D/S+10 AND T2=D/S+20
T-T1=1
D(1/S-1/(S+10)=1………………..(1)
D(1/S-1/(S+20)=7/4……………..(2)
(1)/(2) GIVES U S=60
SO D WILL BE 420
Wise u a very happy dipawali 2 all…
I did not write my booklet series number in the answer sheet of ssc cgl 2014. ( i was giving cgl for 1st time, asked the invigilator about what is to be written in the test form number and she said nothing) . I am scoring somewhere around 125, dont want to let go this opportunity. Can something be done in the matter??
happppppppppppppppy DIWALI sirji
Guys,
What is the answer of 48th question from 011LG2-Morning shift?
I put A in the exam..
Am I correct??
Its correct. Although there are 2 folds, the cut is made only in the second of the 2 foldings.
Happy Diwali to everybody and in my style Subha Dipabali.
Please please please tell me the answer for 43rd question of 011LG2 Morning.
The question is whats the correct relationship among society, teacher and student.
Now obviously both student and teacher are subsets of society but a teacher is not a student and vice versa.
Hence option B should follow.
But I came across a key where the answer is provided as C(apparently some teachers can be students).
Please please clarify.
I apologize for the detailed comment
Yes I also ticked b but most of the keys are saying c. Dunno whats the relation
But how Ankur. If that is the case its so ambiguous.By similar logic some doctors can be engineers too as theoretically its entirely possible for a person to do mbbs after btech or vice versa.
I am so confused.
A student pursuing ms or mtech is a student of professor ie phd
but he takes classes of btech students.
sir any suggestion for paper on 26th?
Hello,

do we hav to produce NOC at the time of cgl interview???
in the notification they hav not mentioned about NOC……Anybody has any idea?
Dhruv if you dont mind can you attempt the question posted by me just above.
It will really help me.
Thanks!
as per ssc logic the teacher is teaching in a school and at the same time he is doing some distance learning course from IGNOU
Thanks mate for the quick reply.
If we extend that (dumb ssc)logic further, doctors can also be engineers and vice versa?
Rohit, such questions are there in English section also(011lg2)..so wait til ssc release official keys
Rohit doctors and Engineers are different professions but student is not a profession.. In this case diagram will be different..
Preeti yes they are but why cant a person be both at the same time? Consider an engineer who is a businessman too.
I am fine if this is the logic ssc uses but atleast they should be consistent. In previous exams i have never seen such ambiguous logic so why now?
Whenever two different professions are given, you need to look them as separatism. rarely we see any doctor as businessman. buy yes we can some businessman as social worker
I know my question sounds a bit silly… But can anybody tell me-
1. Approximately when will the results of tier 1be declared?
2. In which month will tier 2 be held?
Hello chanderkant !
first of all we should pray to god that this paper does not leak otherwise next year again we have to give the paper again and if everything goes well then result should be out in December end or January end or feb start(most probably) and tier 2 after 2 months max All the best
YE DEWALI …………………………… PADHAI WALI………………..

In tier-2,try getting around 160 in English and around 120 in Maths. You will definitely get ITI.

Pipe A is an inlet pipe filling the tank at 8000 liters/hour. Pipe B empties the tank in 3 hours. The capacity of the tank is :
(a) 12000 L
(b) 8000 L
(c) 6000 L
(d) 4000 L
Solution….. Anybody…?
This is Q no. 104 of SSC 2014 paper 000 NH1.
Hi rajesh the answer is 8000.
As it is gvn that tank will b empty in 3 hr so net part empty in 1hr is 1/3
inlet pipe fill at rate 8000l/hr so
8000÷3=2666.67 empty in 1hr so in 3 hr it is
2666.67×3=8000
What a logic Rajiv
Dividing 8000 by 3 and then multiyplying by 3.
In this question either speed (with each the tank is empty) or capacity of the tank should be given

Thnx for the response dude…
But I don’t think that logic is right…
You have begun your calculation by the assumption that the tank has the capacity of only 8000 liters.. So obviously your answer is 8000 liters.
We have been provided with the rate at which the first pipe is filling up the tank i.e. 8000l/hr. So we need to calculate the time taken by it to completely fill it up and multiply it with the rate.
Tank Capacity = Rate* Time taken to fill
Let,
Time taken to fill = x hr
So,
1/x – 1/3 = 1 (Amount of work done by first pipe in filling + Amount of work done by second in emptying hence negative sign)
this gives x = 3/4hr
Capacity = 8000 * 3/4 = 6000 liter
I maybe wrong. Please correct if so.
why 1\x-1\3 is equal to 1 ?? It means in 1 hour they will fill the whole tank together ?
Dude… You’ve also assumed that the tank is getting filled in exactly 1 hour… Not convincing enough.
Hello rajesh this question is wrong or ambiguous .As data is insufficient to solve the problem otherwise all the options are correct for example
if capacity would have been 8000 l then pipe A would take only 1 hour to fill and pipe B would have a rate of 2666.67 l per hour that is possible
if capacity would have been 12000 L then pipe A would take only 1.5 hour to fill and pipe B would have a rate of 4000 L per hour that is possible
if capacity would have been 6000L then pipe A would take only 3/4 hour to fill and pipe B would have a rate of 2000L per hour that is possible
if capacity would have been 4000L then pipe A would take only 0.5 hour to fill and pipe B would have a rate of 1333.33L per hour that is possible
so any answer is possible I think this question was given just to waste time => TRAP question
See this
car A can travel at a speed of 8000 km/h to cover a distance d and car B can cover the same distance in 3 hours what is the value of d ?
options are :
8000 km OR 12000km or 6000km or 4000km .
Yes this is what I was also thinking… Something is wrong with this question.
ya… of course this question is missing some information
Definitely data is insufficient.
Hi Everyone
This question is wrong
incomplete question and i am 100% sure
Let the Inlet pipe can fill the tank in “x” hours.
So, its 1 hr work= 1/x
Now, The outlet pipe can empty the tank in “3” hours.
So, its 1 hour work = 1/3
Now, (inlet+ outlet)’s 1 hour work= 1/x- 1/3= (3-x)/3x
So, the tank can be filled in = 3x/(3-x) hours
Given: In 1 hour, portion of the tank that can be filled = 8000 L.
So, In 3x/(3-x) hours portion of the tank that can be filled = FULL= (8000*3x)/(3-x)= Capacity Of The Tank
Hence, the most probable answer = 12000 L for x=1

Hi Guys,
Does any one know how postings and allocation are actually done in SSC post interview? I am getting total 404 (tier 1+ tier 2 excluding interview) in 2013 Re Exam based on unofficial answer keys. My first two preferences are MEA and 3rd and 4th are Railways and CSS. That’s all. I want to get either Delhi or Chandigarh. What are the chances? Does anyone know what exactly and how the post and location is given?
