A takes three times as long as B and C together to do a job. B takes four times as long as A and C together to do a work if all the three working together can complete the job in 24 days then how many days will A alone will take to complete it.
can any one tell me how to solve it.?
suppose time taken by A, B and C is a, b and c days when they each work alone. now as is given, a = 3bc/(b+c), and b = 4ac/(a+c) and
abc/(ab+bc+ca) = 24. now from the 1st equation we get, ab + ac = 3bc, now putting these result in the equation 3rd, we get, abc/4bc = 24, which gives a = 96, and this is what was being asked.
Sir, I appeared for the SSC CGL 2014 on 19th Oct and after evaluating my answers on the basis of various answer keys provided on the net I am expecting 95.5 marks (I am from UR category). Will I make it to Tier 2??

Did the invigilators make it compulsory to paste the photo on that slip which they provide? For our morning batch on 26th we did not paste any photograph..is it of any concern.?

It’s a clear case of INJUSTICE that was done to us on 19th Oct as compare to difficulty level of Cgl-exam on 26th Oct…..there was a huge difference between the difficulty level in both the exams…..what will happen if the cut-off be released on the bases of 26th Oct examination??? So friends please try to bring that “INJUSTICE” to SSC GRIEVANCES-CELL….so that we could get our deserving-shot for which we burn our eyes in the late nights for last six months or more………thanks in advance…

only maths is not a parameter to estimate the level of a question paper, there are other 3 sections too.
just have a look at the english and the ga sections of question papers conducted on 26th and you will get the answer.
WELL honestly it was a cake walk my friend….. :) follow mrunals strategy. You will fare well in english…. GA…..average is around 30 to 35 (maximum limit) anyway no matter how much you study
really …. i guess u really need to hav a look on 19th ques. paper where maths, gs are way tough then 26th one… and for the 19th eve. shift u will find maths n eng. to be tough .. all in oll 26th ques. paper can not be compared to the 19th one where the expected cut off wud b low.. where as in the 26th paper 100+ was a cake walk
I completely agree with you. I appeared for exam on 26th morning and the question paper was really easy except some question in the General Awareness section. But this is not at all a new thing for ssc. It often happens. Before this I always felt that by bad luck worked that I always got the toughest set. But this time I got the easier one.

It is my humble request to please submit a grievance to this effect with the SSC (i.e. introduction of percentile system) which would help in weeding out the injustice meted out to the aspirants..I have already registered my grievance with the Commission.
By the way if anybody is of the opinion that the paper on 26th was tougher
..they can also do the same…after all it is in the larger interest of the candidates

I dont trust in filing grieviances. we are in india :( maybe we need some more time to improve…..i am in delhi mukerjee nagar from quite a long time… i know senior players of ssc.They have tried all of them. In fact there were many cases in CAT. Nothing actually works. Most of the case gets defeated as they candidates fail to get proper evidence to proove that there is significant variation between various sittings and various sets of papers. And ultimately it concludes that this is an apti test and its testing candidate skills bla bla bla…..may be if u hire a good lawyer it can work….i dont know about leagal stuffs. so am not very sure. But let me tell you. there is one possibility this year. People are planning to file case this year. There is a huge possibility that major results of tier 1 will turn out from 26th sittings (trust me…..every member i know has 105 to 130 in 26 sitting) and in that case RTI can be filed and compare the result percentage on both the days. maybe then we can have an edge to fight this issue. And by the way next year tier 2 will be online :P… In reality utmost necessity is for tier 1 :P
Absolutely right…99% chances are that SSC won’t do anything about it which i have written in one of my previous posts..Still more the number of a common grievance…the better will it be…Afterall how much time will it take anyway..Had it been a case of a difference of 2-3 marks…it wouldn’t have made much of a difference…but so much disparity is totally uncalled for.
And yes…even i know a few candidates who are looking to file a case in the CAT and i will be joining them although i am not sure whether it would yield any outcome apart from delaying the results (i do not intend to inculcate pessimism… but it is the reality of our system)..but atleast if you have filed a grievance…it will be helpful in proving that you are serious about this issue…therefore i insist that you please write in to the grievance redressal mechanism (link is mentioned in my previous post) and mail another copy to the SSC

I did post the link in one of my previous posts…but just now i saw that the comment is awaiting moderation from the blogger…anyway..please go to the previous page of comments (this is page 2…go back to page 1 from the option given below) where you will find the comment of Mr ARUN…the link is mentioned there..in case you are unable to find it please search ‘pgportal gov grievance’ in google and the second result is the link what you are looking for..i am not mentioning the exact link because my comment will not be shown once again…
One more thing Sir…that portal is a forum for submitting a grievance which one may have with any ministry/department (DoPT in this case)…therefore after submitting the complaint…please mail another copy of it to the SSC to their official email id…also i have heard that the SSC chairperson A. Bhattacharya is quite tech savvy and pretty active on the social networking websites…so please send in your tweet or voice your concern via facebook to this effect

Yup … i completely agree wid u @Reshu … SSC has done a complete injustice with candidate who appeared on 19th Oct,14. There was a huge diff. in the level of que. paper of 19th compared to this tuccha 26th paper where nyone could easily reach 110 or something.. There should be some measure taken in favor of this.
Its really funny that people here are sayin that 19th is tough than 26th, but the gk and english part in 26th was so so so hard as in 19th !! only maths was a bit easier !
dosth….gk is always tough in all sittings. But english was not so tough … maybe reading comprehension was tough. or maybe you are hindi/regional language background and thats why you felt it tough
26 wala set me gk tough tha math bohot easy.

sidha samjho ki jo sochte hai math bana k pass kar jaenge wo latak gaya 19 ko.
all rounder 19 ko bhi acha kiya hoga.
at first i thought ki naya trick hai non-english walo ko hatane ka 19 wale set me.
par 26 wala normal tha.
pata nahi kyu par 19 wale se kam result hoga due to math.
par only math se pura paper tough koi nahi bol sakta.
mera 26 ko tha maine jam k math banaya.
par 19 ko rahta to english aur gk jam k banata.
Even 19 oct eve session paper was easier than morning session. What will happen God knows but its totally bad luck of candidates appeared in 19 oct mng session
