- On 7th August 2016, UPSC had conducted preliminary exam for civil services aka CSAT.
- 16th September 2016, they’ve declared result= within 40 days. Seems a new record for UPSC!
- Total ~15,500 candidates qualified for Mains-2016 against 1,079 final vacancies. (15,445 to be precise.)

- Those who cleared prelims, need to fillup a new form online before mains. It’s called “Detailed Application form” (DAF).
- DAF will be available from 7th October to 20th October 6PM.
- Civil Service Mains to start from 3rd December 2016.
- Those who qualified – congratulations.
- Those who did not qualify- this is not the end of the world: Look at the right hand green box for the upcoming exams and for next year prelims, rectify for the lacunas in your strategy.
Cutoff marks not declared, YET
Unlike RAS prelims, UPSC has not revealed cutoffs marks of Prelim-2016 immediately after declaration of result.
Anyways, here are the cut-off marks in last prelims 2015:

Don’t worry Rohit… When God takes one thing in one way He gives many other things in many ways… This time probably the exam was easiest that’s why the cut off went high. My score 111.34 but couldn’t clear. Never mind better luck for next time
bro last year my score was 104 and this year 114 according to all authentic key but i not qualified full in sorrow what to do i am just 23 year and frusted fully and going to left upsc my younger brother make it in first attempt in prelims he is scoring 116 .
i think luck is not with me and god is never supported me.
It’s simple that probably many aspirant might have scored the same marks that’s why more aspirants selected against such post…

I was getting 102.66 considering 3 doubtful questions wrong…cleared, cutoff would be around 103 I guess and you might have missed very narrowly…good luck for next time
