Introduction
- SSC CGL 2013 was to be held on 14th and 21st April.
- But 14th April exam was cancelled. Now that exam will be held on 19th May 2013. (Hence it is no longer conflicting with SBI PO exam date.) This is not a rumor. This is given on SSC’s Northern Region website click me
- This article contains analysis based on two papers of SSC CGL 2013, held on 21st April (KP series and PJ series) click me to download those papersets.

- SSC has continue the trend of last year (=less importance to conventional questions from profit-loss, time-speed, mensuration etc.) and more emphasis on geometry (theory), Trigonometry and algebra
- Roughly 2/3rd of the Maths questions are from Geometry, trigonometry, algebra and Data interpretation (DI) only.
- Although SSC chief remained kept his twitter promise: trigonometry and geometry portion bit easier than last time’s and most of the trigonometry questions could be solved effortlessly by the [Trigonometry] tricks explained on www.Mrunal.org/aptitude
- Usually DI portion contained only one “case” and 5 questions. This time SSC has given multiple DI cases.

- Compared to earlier years, SSC increased the number of non-verbal questions.
- Sitting arrangement (case containing 3-5 question) =absent.
- Otherwise question pattern/difficulty level similar to previous years.
General Awareness / GA-GK
- As usual, GA section was broadly made up of three parts: Static, Science and Crap.
- The message / lesson is clear: when it comes to the GA portion of SSC, don’t waste time chasing trivial current affairs. Because static (polity, history etc.) and science, is where your focus should be.

In PJ and KP series question papers, the GA and English questions were same (only sequence was changed) hence I’ve given only single column for no. of questions.

No reservation for women, but OBC certificate will make your chances fairly bright.
ssc cgl tier I 2013 result declared cutoff is 96 for general…

when will ssc declare the result? there is a news regarding Delhi high court case for leakage of paper & its result is also going to come on 17th july

i am not talking about tier 1 result but the Delhi high court verdict will come on 17th and i am getting 91 marks from general category
In July itself, maybe before July 15. Till now only a notice has been issued to SSC, hearing on July 17. So result process won’t be affected by that before hearing date.
can we assume that result will come this weak
SSC NWR Deputy RD said result might be delayed a bit due to scaling, but it would be out very soon.

what is scaling ? different cut off for different exams ?
if scaling is done, whose obtained marks are likely to get increased from the actual obtained – 21 april candidates or 19th may or 11st august? which paper is being considered the toughest?
Will be known only after results are declared. But I guess GK marks will be increased for May 19 candidates, and quantitative aptitude for April 21. Can’t say about Reasoning and English as there was not much difference in difficulty levels.

i am a btech passed out in 2012.i attempted upsc prelims 2013 after preparing for a year.I dont think i will satisfy the high cut off i am getting 200(general category)…I am in a fix…should i take up a job and continue preparation or should i devote full time for preparation?I might get a bank job mostly as i passed a bank exam?will i be able to manage…..please tell
Haven’t worked in a bank but general opinion is that if you want to prepare for UPSC CS, the only job in a bank that would give you some free time is that of a clerk. POs have to work for more than 10 hours even on Saturdays.

Po job will not leave any time for preparation. i left my po job for the same reason.
Take it from a banker who is quitting his PO job and instead will be joining as a Tax Asst in CBDT ! Go for bank job only if you have exhausted all your SSC/UPSC attempts or you are nearing the age of 27-28 (As may be the limit for IBPS). You won’t get an iota of preparation time while working in a bank. Choose wisely !!

SSC NWR Deputy RD tweeted..no results in july. Anything can b expected in august only. The thing is, at this moment nobody seems to be knowing anything.

Case has been transferred to CAT, hearing on Aug 26. Result not to be declared in July, maybe Aug. And high possibility that Tier 2 is going to be postponed.
kab tak hume wait karna hoga…….becoze it is already too late……and aisa hi rha to cut off for tier 2 is also going to be very high

ssc is going to conduct re exam for several candidate on 11 august 2013 then when will it be going to announce its tier 1 result……..and I don’t think so it will conduct tier 2 exam on 1 September 2013…..

Don’t worry, if you are not able to download admit card then you weren’t supposed to sit for re-exam.

I think for General Awareness part, basic economics concepts and events of last 6 months are enough. Can’t say about Computers because I being from computer background didn’t need to study that portion. And Quant/DI portion is more about speed and accuracy than about knowledge.

It can cover a lot of topics, but 100 odd pages are not enough to cover events of 30 days of the month. So they are definitely going to miss some useful points. That’s why it is better to use some online sources as well where there is no such limitation.
Not sufficient,you need to read daily national news paper with PD and some other magazine such as yojana ..etc

If you have studied Science after Xth, then Lucent/Arihant GK book should be enough. Otherwise you can read NCERTs for standards 6th to 10th.
AS…pls suggest me best book for RPSC LDC exam so that i can prepare well……..
Sorry, no idea about RPSC. Regarding best book? None exists. You have to find content from various books. And those all in one books don’t help much. Practice and exposure to a wide range of questions helps, for which you need to refer as much material as you can, but don’t devote too much time to any topic.
guys any idea when will SSC finally give recruitment to the 2012 CGL batch ? saw that in some regions like CR,KKR. NW etc they are putting up Nomitation status…i’m from Eastern region n in my region there is no update as such…The agony of waiting seems endless…kisiko pata hai kuch ?
