Background
After the change of civil service (Mains) exam syllabus in 2013, UPSC aspirants had been demanding additional age/attempt limit. Large scale protests organized during December session of parliament..
So far, UPSC and Personnel ministry had shown an indifference to these demands (as per the Minister’s reply in Rajya Sabha and RTIs to UPSC and Personnel Ministry.)
But now, Personnel Ministry’s official site has uploaded a new PDF notification:

It reads:
Subject: Civil Service Examination- Relaxation of number of attempts
The Central Government has approved “two additional attempts to all categories of candidates w.e.f. Civil Services Examination 2014, with consequential age relaxation of maximum age for all categories of candidates, if required.”

Then upper age limit turns out to be General = 32, OBC = 35, SC/ST=37.

It is my speculation and feel that the age mentioned by Mrunal should go from now. The same has happened in the previous reforms too. In previous reforms too age and attempts were increased and maintained the same for future attempts too. It was not given just for the 2 years alone. Secondly, if the age is increased for next two attempts alone or if the attempts alone are given, then there is a lot of chance in future some writ can be filed and questioned about the same. So I personally feel that this will be the ceiling for examination as of now.
Mrunal sir , u should give civil services at least one more time even if it is for academic purpose

people are saying that there will be no optional this year…..im changing my optional to medical science n preparing it now……will it be a waste of whole 1 month preparation…

what about those who had their last attempt(AGEWISE)in 2011 & couldn’t get through because of the introduction of CSAT !!!!! Shouldn’t they be given atleast one more chance?? Age relaxation for GENERAL should be 03 yrs.

Sir there are some good changes but the old color combination and article size was great.Last Date to Apply option is good but if possible please remove comment section and add archive of articles so can read any article rather then going next-next

Sir, I am a Graphic & Web Designer by Profession and a regular visitor of your site. My suggestion is to revert back to old web template, that was better than this.
Mrunal Sir, i don’t want to blame this new look but it is not looking good.let me give reasons
1) This is so dull, even now i am typing message, this area is also dull
2)It takes some time to adopt, but this color is not good, i mean in your own words not “Catchy”@@@
3)Earlier by placing cursor on drop downs we used to get side menu bars, but now we have to dig them!
So please change it to another new look rather this#

Red color and its shades are TOO much in the new interface, The background color of comments can be changed to some other color and the background color can be applied to the text of main article to make it more readable and less straining on eyes. ‘Reply’ button can be made a little smaller.
