New development: You can’t change Optional-Subject, exam-Centre,, Indian Language paper (Paper-A) and Answer Medium. You’ll have to stick to whatever you choices made in the prelims application form. (Ref: Instruction PDF file, page no. 3.)
- Last date is 11th November. MAKE NO HASTE in filling this form. Thoroughly read the PDF files uploaded on that page.

@lord dufferin:hm..i thnk i need to beg pardon..:p… I got to knw tht, if i submit my daf wid the old certificate, they ll allow me to sit n ll ask to furnish new one later on..just tell me if they gonna disqualify me frm future attempts as a general candidate,if nt submit the new one dis tme.
I am on probation and it would be permanent employment once I complete 1 year in job i.e. in july … so what shall i write in my service as temporary or permanent?
Permanent. Probation does not imply that the post is temporary. You’ll be on probation even when you join civil services. But the job is permanent ;-)
hello folks for service preference and state cadre i gave it is 1,2,3.. and not 01,02,03…..am i toast?? feeling very worried….it took it in though….kindly dispel all doubts and fears…what have i done!

Is it necessary to send the DAF without folding, in a A4 size envelope?? Or can we send in a normal letter envelope?
I didnt find anything in notification as such. But send it without folding. I think it was mentioned last year(not sure) but we’ve sent in A4 envelope last year..
Sir I’m a VI candidate in pre form I marked that I need scribe for mains but I don’t want scribe in mains in daf I’m unable to alter the option for scribe so can it be change or else I have to stick with that same option.

Hi , does any one have undertaking format to be submitted by govt employee (not armed forces )? And secondly wt date should be put in working till column ?
I am working in a PSU but they don’t have any format. I submitted an application on a plain paper that “Undersigned is appearing for UPSC Civil Services exam….This is for necessary action at your end”. Keep a copy of the application. Submit it to the Personnel Division.
Attach the photocopy of the Civil service notification where the clause for govt. employee is mentioned. No need to attach any other doc related to exam.
When you get PI call, submit a fresh application asking for NOC, attach above application + PI call letter/email etc.
However, some PSUs like BHEL etc. are very strict in such cases. They have some sort of format. You need to ask your personnel division discreetly.
can we get reply from upsc after online submission of daf or we get it after submitting printout

UPSC have askedfor new PH format application.
The problem is in 2012, I submitted hindi certificate issued by the district medical board. UPSC send me a letter asking in the format then applicable. The board literally refused to issue the same. Somehow, I begged (practically) , then a issued a new certificate.
Now, this year also, they again changed the format. If I again approach the board, I am afraid, they’ll not entertain my request. They are very rude. They say that, “You come every year to get new certificate. This is valid for 5 years. We can’t issue new one every time.”
What am I suppose to do ?
I am feeling very harassed & tormented by such government tactics.

to sign or not to sign on the summary sheet?? coz there is space for that.
Haven’t you read the Instructions PDF ?
It clearly says, in bold, that you are NOT supposed to sign on the Summary sheet.
i accidentally signed on the summary sheet also and have sent the same. wht should i do now??

i just want to know that is scale 2 officer is class1 officer or scale 3 is class 1??
neither scale 1,2 or 3 are class 1 officers

yes..I have orthopedic disability filled the form 4 and got is signed by the Orthopedic doctor and head of a government hospital.
just leave the Disability column blank to be filled by the doctor.
Yu need to get certificate as per format prescribed by Upsc so they won’t accept…anyways u will get a letter to ur home to submit or candidature will be cancelled subjectively and asks u to submit again

I left the Column No.1 blank ie Total Value and other two. I am exempted from fee sumission so Total Value column was blank in my application form.
I think I should have filled the blank with zero.
Can this lead to form cancellation.

Hi mrunal , I’m unable to create Registration account for filling my mains DAF. The first time I entered my details and submitted it was showing “you already registered” but I haven’t recieved any mail from Upsc .please help me out.!!!

hi, I too am facing the same problem, i filled my initial registr on 5th nov but till now haven’t got the password, the web designed by UPSC is far below the standard. You have to mark a mail to UPSC and also have to contact them, then they might here you!!!

how to fill state preferences in daf…. if a person wish to fill all states then the no reaches from 1 to 56….am i right?
When did we get 56 states .. till today it was only 29 .. :P .. man give preference 1, 2, … for IAS and same 1,2,…. for IPS
In the last field of “final submission”, do we have to specify the number of stamps attached too (number of stamps can be different, according to their denomination ), or just write the prescribed fees of 200 rupees?????
